Dual Cultivation: Omnipotent Villain with Reader System!-Chapter 81: Mother. The offer is for you as well
Tsk. This world is truly useless if we really think about it. The only use is upgrading his weapon and cultivating Gu. Aside from that, he can’t even start a breeding farm here.
Nevertheless, he purchased a few Gu worms from the system store and started slaughtering zombies, collecting their blood.
Two days passed in an instant.
The time difference is 3:1. 3 days here is 1 day in the cultivation world.
Tianmo sat cross-legged on the rooftop of the building, the wind of the apocalypse whipping his robes, yet he remained as still as a mountain peak piercing the clouds. Below him, the land had a deep hole with a pool of blood, where Heart-eating Gu’s were feasting and growing.
He killed a few more chosen ones but they were utterly useless. One guy possessed infinite basic food resources and guns, but he didn’t have a harem. Matter of fact, he was a lone world archetype, not befitting the infinite resource system.
Another chosen son of destiny was even more useless, who came back from the future but all he did was purchase a large amount of food and shit himself in an underground bunker. Luckily he had a few women to keep him company, otherwise, Young Master would have sensed him as a regular guy and spared him. He also killed many more, who had a small group of girls but they were just fodder.
Of course, it’s not necessary that the chosen son would have a harem, it’s completely possible for them to be a lone wolf type, or single love interest, but they would certainly have a shelter and food resources. The key trait of Chosen ones in the apocalypse are availability of resources and being far away from hidden danger or so-called "end game boss".
"Boss... What should we do next!?" A thin nerd-looking Young Man uttered. He was a little guy whom Tianmo took as a subordinate to gather information when he would leave this world and return to the cultivation world. This guy can also look after the blood pool.
"You have to do nothing, for now."
Apparently, this world was very interesting. According to this nerd, every month multiple portals appear around the globe, allowing more and more zombies and other monsters to descend into this world.
Everything started two years ago.
The sky turned crimson, the sun wept blood, and the earth cracked open to vomit forth the walking dead from the void. The apocalypse was not a sudden event, but a slow, agonizing decay of the natural order. It was the death of the old world, the rotting of the flesh, and the birth of a new, chaotic era where the strong devoured the weak.
It seems eating the zombie core can turn one into a zombie or a mutant, allowing one to possess supernatural abilities. What’s more interesting is that Zombies can eat other zombies to be stronger and humans can absorb the zombie more to enhance their strength further.
It seems the strongest zombie recorded was a Tier 7 Zombie in Elephant Nation, probably the name of an Indian-style civilization within this world. And the strongest human recorded is Tier-6 within the Eagle nation, likely the US, whose ability is to harden his skin into metal.
"Yes, Boss. Are you sure you are not interested in women? I have captured a few and made sure they are clad in anime cosplay, hehe," he uttered with a nose bleed. If someone like Tianmo hadn’t accepted him as a pawn, he would likely be reading information while eating dirt and water, devoid of any intimacy with women.
Women? Tianmo had no interest in them. There is a stark difference between the Jade fairies devoid of impurities, and mundane women grown in the apocalypse.
He looked at Little Nerd with Cold Soul-chilling eyes.
Gulp!
"F-Forgive me boss, I disturbed your peace, I shall leave right now!" The nerd trembled, his face draining of color as the killing intent radiating from Tianmo felt like the gaze of an ancient beast staring down at a mere insect. He scrambled backward, his movements clumsy and desperate, his eyes darting toward the exit as if the very walls were closing in on him.
Tianmo did not chase him, given that, he did not need to. The nerd was merely a tool, a vassal to be used and discarded when his utility expired.
Woosh!
He returned back to his own dimension. Back at the courtyard, the sun was high in the sky, casting long, golden shadows across the stone tiles.
Servant Zhang noticing the Young Master Wang, bowed his head, "Young Master, your mother, Madam Cai, was seeking your attendance at the family hall."
"Oh!" He thought for a moment and decided it was time to visit her. But before that, he looked at Servant Zhang and waved his hand.
"This is Marrow washing pills and blood cleansing pills, my appreciation for your loyalty. The family has removed all servants leaving only you and your two wives... I don’t trust your wives, you have two options, raise them somewhere else or kill them. Choice is up to you."
Tianmo tossed a jade bottle into the air. The servant Zhang caught it with trembling hands, his eyes widening in disbelief. He looked at the bottle, then at the Young Master, his heart pounding heavy and fast like a running horse.
"Th-Thank you, Young Master! This servant will not let you down!" Zhang stammered, his voice cracking with a mix of awe and terror. He bowed low, his forehead nearly touching the dusty ground, before scrambling backward to escape the suffocating aura radiating from Tianmo.
Young Master was correct, not everybody should know that, Young Master was still existing within the Wang Family hall. The best course of action would be to kill his wives, to completely eliminate any chance of leakage. But it seems Young Master has faith in him, allowing him to raise his wife away from the Wang Family, making sure the news doesn’t leak.
***
The current family Hall was a structure of ancient grandeur, its pillars carved from black jade, etched with the runes of the dragons and Phoenix.
His mother was sitting with closed eyes within the family hall, unaware that Tianmo was already seated in front of her.
She had a mature ethereal beauty, her skin like the finest porcelain, and her eyes were closed, her long lashes casting shadows on her cheeks. She wore a simple white robe, the fabric clinging to her slender frame, outlining the gentle curve of her waist and the soft swell of her breasts.
"Mother, you wished to discuss something with me?"
Her eyes fluttered open, the motion slow and deliberate, like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, looked at him for a moment, and finally spoke, nodding her head.
"Umm... Son, I have a few matters to discuss with you," her voice was soft, like the rustling of bamboo leaves in a gentle breeze.
"Your mother was thinking about what you will do ahead. The world is vast, and the Wang Family is but a small boat in a stormy sea. You have the Dragon Court as your backing, but it’s of unknown origin, thus, your mother believes they are playing some bigger games, I suggest, you should create a new identity and start a new life afar within another sect. I don’t wish to see you being hunted by others. It doesn’t matter whether you are a Taboo existence or not, you will always be your mother’s son."
Her voice was laced with a mother’s worry, her eyes searching Tianmo’s face for any sign of agreement. She was a woman, who though not having seen the true cruelty of the cultivation world, was still somewhat knowledgeable. The world is vast and full of opportunities for her son to grow.
Tianmo looked at his mother, his expression remained indifferent but he could understand where she was coming from, given that, the Azure Cloud Sect was gone and the Wang Family wasn’t much to his help, however, if heaven is truly omnipresent then the best course of action would be to stay within the private world. However, heaven isn’t absolute thus, it has its own limitations that’s why, Tianmo doesn’t wish for someone from the family to release the news is his stay.
He needs to kill those faceless characters as well, as long as they exist, heaven will always be able to manipulate the scenes from behind. That Elder Gu, now Tianmo thought about it... If heaven can truly read or gather all the information within entire existence though with twenty-one minute delay, Elder Gu might be in serious trouble for trying to mess with destiny after all, unlike Tianmo, Elder Gu doesn’t possess a formless spirit root.
It might be a little late to ask, nevertheless, Tianmo still asked. "System, is there any possibility to completely erase the faceless characters, allowing the world to be free from the manipulation of heaven? I understand it’s not possible permanently, but something like temporarily..."
[Ding!]
[Host, you are free to kill the Faceless character since they are merely servants of heaven that exist as a "plot device" making sure the opportunity can never be stolen, but it won’t change anything. This "world-narrative" can handle up to 36, but the world is vast and profound and this cultivation civilization is a galaxy-tier in terms of civilization and conceptual in terms of power scaling, inhabiting 6 different planets, each one a lot bigger than Earth. So, even if you actively start to hunt them, it won’t make any difference, because Heaven also governs the motherboard.]
’Mother board?! What is that?"
[Motherboard is the source of all existing systems excluding me alone host. However, I alone am honored one given that, I am not controlled by the motherboard but can still access it. And based on the available data, the host’s current planet alone possesses 101 system users. Most importantly, the motherboard is under the control of Heavenly Dao, so, using system users as puppets, heaven can always manipulate the world.]
[Just a warning from the system but it’s very likely for Heaven to have placed a bounty on your head. And the powerful system users might be trying to kill you. It is very possible for Mahayana realm experts to be hunting you down. The world is unfair, host.]
Tianmo’s eyes narrowed into slits. A bounty? From Heaven itself? It was a ludicrous concept, but nothing is stopping heaven from doing it. Matter of fact, it’s the best thing it can do given that, Heaven is a Will and not a Being, thus, it has to operate within in-nature laws.
In-nature energies are unrefined energies that a cultivator can refine, that is also why heaven doesn’t dare to judge Tianmo like, it dares to judge others, who dares to challenge its authority.
However, if system users are truly hunting him then, it saves him time. Well, maybe he should hide with his family and only come out after he becomes far more stronger.
[Host! Let me tell you something. The private world, comes from the motherboard so, Heaven can access it as well, and it’s very likely for other system users to invade it.]
’Wait, what?!’ For the first time, Tianmo was actually shaken. What kind of concept was this? Heavenly Dao actually even has access to his private world?
"System... Could it be that, everything in the system shop is connected to the motherboard?"
[You are wise, host. I don’t possess anything on my own. My abilities are limited by "my true source origin" and system functions like the shop, lottery, and others are connected to the motherboard. The only thing is that the motherboard and heavenly Dao aren’t the same, thus, heavenly Dao might even know all the items you purchased to strengthen yourself. And it can’t even stop it because the motherboard can’t shut down or stop functioning. After all, if it does, Heavenly Dao can’t control it once it restarts, thus, as a system, I want to make sure the Heavenly Dao is punished for its crime and can save my mother, and become a hero.]
"System, could it be that you are still hiding something from me?" Tianmo asked, inside his mind, momentarily ignoring his mother.
[Nothing serious host. It’s just the motherboard has labeled you as a backup protocol, and your abilities such as "Cheat the Cheater" come from my true source origin, so you don’t have to worry about heaven taking it away. But all the resources, they come from the motherboard under heavenly Dao’s, so, technically we are stealing from heavenly Dao.]
Protocol back-up? How interesting.
"What is this protocol backup?"
[Answer not found.]
Anyway, he looked at his mother and finally spoke, "Mother, your words are the rain that nourishes the seed of caution in my heart. I have indeed considered the path of the wandering cultivator, to shed the skin of the Wang Family and walk the Dao under a new guise. However, it is far more dangerous than staying low and cultivating on your own..."
She looked thoughtful for a second, her eyes narrowing slightly as she processed his words. "Is it because of Aunt Biyue and Madam Zhu? Listen to me son, I may not be the wisest hermit but even I understand, that the raw age is precious time to build a cultivation foundation, you shouldn’t think of mundane fleshly pleasure. I am not saying you shouldn’t have a woman, but you should be careful. Women are like the wind; they can be a gentle breeze that cools the summer heat, or a hurricane that tears down the house. You must be the mountain, immovable and steadfast."
She paused, her gaze drifting to the window, where the sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting dancing shadows on the floor. "I have heard that you have given spirit upgrade fruit to Aunt Biyue for services rendered. While I do not begrudge a man his desires, I worry that such transactions... cheapen your authority. If you give away such treasures for a moment of pleasure, I just want you to think about the future and the long term."
Her voice was gentle, but the weight of her words was heavy, like heavy stones sinking into a deep lake. She was not scolding him; she was pleading with him, her eyes filled with a mother’s desperate hope that her son would see the precipice before he fell. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Though, I understand your worry, yet, I believe I am grown up and can see the world for myself. If I have to say, it’s very likely for someone to have sent you... Hmm... Is it Madam Lan? I can only think of her or Madam Lian. But I am more inclined to believe it is Madam Lan, given her lesser sophisticated nature. Probably send you here to get the Spirit fruits, isn’t it? Mother, you are far too naive. Don’t get me wrong, but, if I were to listen to your advice, I might meet Lord Yama as early as possible."
Obviously, he knows that even meeting Yama would be a luxury, his enemies might fully erase his existence.
Hearing him, Madma Cai was frozen. Her face turned pale, her eyes widening in shock.
"Son... I..." She stammered, her voice trembling, her hands twisting in her lap. She wanted to deny it, to weave a web of excuses, but the cold indifference in his eyes stopped her. It was a gaze that saw not just the flesh, but the soul beneath, peeling back the layers of her deceit until nothing was left but the raw, ugly truth.
"It’s alright, some humans grow from their mistakes, some grow from others’ mistakes. I wouldn’t say you are wrong here, you want me to grow and have a firm heart, focusing my time on cultivation rather than fleshly pleasure, but your understanding of the world is limited and your understanding of Dao is even more limited. Mother you have yet to understand me or the world, you see I possess, Supreme Nine Yang physique, allowing me to grow rapidly via Dual Cultivation and also helping my partner to grow. Think for yourself, isn’t it the safest option for me at the moment?" He asked, his voice calm, devoid of mockery, yet cutting deep into her illusions.
"The only difference is, the foundation of these women is shallow and they can’t benefit me for a long dual cultivation session. If Madam Lan wishes for spirit upgrade fruit, you can tell her to visit my chamber at night, of course, this opportunity stands for all women including you, mother. If you wish to cultivate, you must be willing to walk in fire and water."
"Y-You... what are you saying? I am your mother!" Madam Cai stammered, her face flushing a deep, mortified crimson. The air in the hall seemed to thicken, pressing against her skin like a heavy, wet blanket. She gripped the arms of her chair, her knuckles turning white, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird seeking escape from a cage of its own blood and bone.
"You are free to believe and cling to the world you have created in your perception, but in the eyes of the Dao, flesh is merely flesh, and blood is merely blood. The distinction of ’mother’ is a shackle forged by mortal morality, a chain that binds the spirit to the mundane. To ascend, one must be willing to shatter even the holiest of taboos."
Tianmo stood up, his movements fluid, like water flowing over smooth stones. "I believe we have discussed what needs to be discussed and any further would-be meaningless debate of worldview and personal opinions thus, I shall take my leave."
