Chapter 51: Hue Qing

Meanwhile, BaiShe was sitting in front of a zither. His long agile fingers glided over the strings.

Suddenly, he perceived a hesitant presence behind the door.

He felt an intense emotional turmoil emanating from the intruder, a mixture of nervousness and guilt.

"You can come in if you want..." he said in a melodious and calm voice, without stopping playing his piece.

The door opened with a slight rustle, revealing Hue Qing.

The young woman entered awkwardly, her long dark green hair falling in silky cascades down to her waist. She wore a fluid dark-colored night robe whose thinness hinted at the delicate curves of her fragile silhouette. Her dull black eyes remained fixed on the floor as she advanced toward him.

"I apologize for disturbing you, Young Master... it is just that this music had attracted me and then... I thought maybe I should come to thank you," she stammered, her trembling hands hidden in her long sleeves.

BaiShe stopped his melody.

"Thank me? Why?"

"Actually... for helping me in the southern ruins," replied Qing’er as she timidly raised her eyes toward him. "The situation was delicate facing the Templar, but you were there and then..."

"No need to thank me, it goes without saying,"

At that precise moment, BaiShe discreetly activated his Third Eye Art.

[Name: Hue Qing

Age: 19 years

Cultivation: Spiritual Core (Peak Stage)

Law: Still Sealed but will probably be (Devourer)

Physique or lineage: Emerald Abyss Physique (Divine Rank): Her constitution is intrinsically linked to devouring. Her meridians passively absorb environmental Qi, which explains her pale complexion and her aura of fragility. But she does not need to cultivate or meditate and advances in rank regularly.

Luck: Cursed by the Dao

Title: The Pearl of the Crimson Sect.

Mental state: Currently nervous with some resentment toward herself.

Artifact: Divine Pearl Necklace (masks Qi fluctuations).]

’The necklace is probably the reason why I had not noticed her identity earlier, but why does she feel this guilt toward herself?’

’System, I want to buy information on Hue Qing’s Background.’

[The Background on target Hue Qing will cost: 2000 points]

’I buy...’

Immediately, a flood of knowledge inundated his mind.

He saw Hue Qing’s past from her birth. She was of an extremely shy and reserved nature, constantly avoiding the gaze of other disciples.

Hue Qing lived in deep shame of her own nature. She was terrified by the devouring power that resided in her and by that insatiable Hunger that she had to repress every second so as not to become the monster the world feared.

She was a gentle woman who preferred the solitude of gardens, but whose personality changed radically when she lost control of her Physique: she then transformed into a cold and cruel predator acting on pure Devouring instinct.

Since her birth, her mother had done everything to hide her identity as the Devourer of this era, using ancient seals to mask her Khaotic Qi.

She had therefore grown up isolated, aware that if her true nature were discovered, she would be executed without hesitation.

She lived in constant fear of hurting her loved ones. Moreover, when her mother had been killed by unknown envoys from the Upper Realm, she had sworn to become powerful enough to avenge her, even if it meant embracing this cursed power....

Upon learning her story, BaiShe had no intention of handing her over. He saw in her the perfect instrument, a naive ally he could shape as he wished. While he was thinking about the best way to proceed.

Hue Qing took out a small gourd.

"To thank you... I would like to give you this high-quality spiritual liqueur. It helps stabilize Qi after intense effort," she murmured in a trembling voice.

Upon seeing the liqueur, BaiShe immediately knew thanks to his sage intuition that this gift was not so simple. Perceiving her mental state full of guilt, he understood that she was trying to trap him.

A smile stretched imperceptibly across his lips. He decided to play along.

"Ah, thank you for the attention,"

"Usually this scholar does not drink alcohol, but since it is a gift from you, I would be obliged to please such a cute girl."

Hue Qing smiled, a small timid smile that gradually strengthened. She repeated to herself internally that what she was doing was right. She uncorked the gourd and poured the liquid into a small cup. The intoxicating scent spread gently through the room.

BaiShe took the cup she handed him.

"My father would be shocked that it is a woman teaching me to drink."

Hue Qing blushed slightly. She remained standing, her hands clasped in front of her.

At the last moment, doubt overwhelmed her. She opened her mouth:

"Young Master Xuan, do not—"

But before she could finish, BaiShe had already drunk everything and placed the empty gourd back on the table.

"Hm? What were you saying?" he asked softly while looking her in the eyes.

"No... nothing..." she murmured as she lowered her head slightly.

BaiShe stood up slowly. He placed a hand on his forehead, as if he were feeling the first effects.

"Ah... I feel a little strange..."

Hue Qing approached immediately.

"Let me help you."

She passed an arm around his waist to support him and guided him toward the bed. BaiShe let himself be led, his body lightly leaning against her. When they reached the edge of the bed, he turned toward her with tenderness and gently took her into his arms.

"You smell so good, Hue Qing..." he murmured near her ear.

He brought his face close to her neck and placed a light kiss there, then another, slowly breathing in her warm skin. Hue Qing shivered, the blush rising to her cheeks.

"Young Master..." she breathed, her voice a little trembling but without pulling away.

BaiShe slowly moved up along her neck with his lips, gently brushing her skin up to her cheek. Then, with infinite gentleness, he placed his mouth on hers in a deep kiss. His lips caressed hers, his tongue slid tenderly to meet hers. Hue Qing responded to the kiss, her hands placed timidly on his chest.

When he pulled back a little, he looked her in the eyes.

"If you want to stop, tell me now," he murmured. "I will not do anything you do not want."

Hue Qing hesitated for a moment, then gently shook her head.

"No... I want to continue... with you."

BaiShe smiled tenderly. He made her sit on the edge of the bed, then knelt in front of her. His hands slowly moved up her thighs over the fabric of her robe, caressing with gentleness.
