Dual Cultivation: Gathering SSS-Rank Wives in the Cultivation World-Chapter 313 - What Exactly Happened
A few moments ago,
Yuna’s boots clicked softly against the academy’s polished stone floors as she navigated through the corridors, her cat ears twitching with each distant sound.
Her tail swished behind her in agitation as she searched for Aelric.
"Where is he?" she muttered, turning another corner.
’I wanted to tell him about that move being perfected and he...’
That’s when she heard it—two voices, hushed but audible, coming from around the bend ahead.
"...isn’t Miss doing wrong though?" The first guard’s voice carried a note of uncertainty. "Breaking the leg of the man she supposedly loves? That’s just... wrong."
The second guard sighed. "What can we do? She ordered us. We’re just following commands."
Yuna froze mid-step, her fist clenching at her side.
Her mind raced. The academy had always been a battlefield of sorts—not just of strength, but of hearts.
Aelric was kind to everyone, genuinely kind, without the smug superiority most nobles wore like a second skin.
It was why most of the young women in Class F had already fallen for him, why even those in higher classes whispered his name with interest.
And Rururu... she was clearly eliminating competition.
"Wait, hurting him?" Yuna hissed under her breath, her tail bristling.
She took a step forward, determination hardening her features before she swiftly sprinted, clenching her jaws as she realized how foolish it was, especially given that if something were to happen to Aelric, Rururu would be first to be doubted due to her obsessive nature toward him.
Unbeknownst to Yuna, who had sprinted away, one of the women standing there pulled out a small pendant, holding it up with a knowing smirk. "Curiosity will kill the cat, Miss, but why tell her to begin with?"
And from the voice transmission came the audio in a subtle chuckle,
:: Fufu, It’s to get Seria killed at her hands... ::
’!’
"...I see... as expected of young miss." And the guards realized it was to deal with two targets with one arrow. Seria would have already broken Aelric’s leg, and in anger, Yuna would kill Seria, leading to academic expulsion. Given that both of these women belonged to enemy clans.
Far away at a distance, having already left the place and running toward the trail of the smell, Yuna was moving at tremendous speed, crossing all the students and hallways.
"Haah... Haa... Where is—?" While Yuna suddenly slid to a halt, her eyes going in a direction where she saw Seria along with three other women standing while chuckling, their eyes narrowed while holding strange weapons in their hands.
Though they all seemed strange given their image was fluttering, like they were not present there or some kind of illusion, evident from her beast senses.
But she ignored all of it and just sprinted, seeing a woman standing in front of Aelric with her nails clearly on his eyebrow and body emitting deep killing intent, which only Yuna could sense due to her beast instinct.
"YUNA—!! WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE—!"
’H-huh—?’ A sudden jolt brought Yuna out of her reverie as she was thinking how there was something wrong here. But due to being emotionally overwhelmed and this punishment, she didn’t understand if it was an illusion or not, but she definitely felt killing intent from this professor.
Aelric’s voice carried a desperate edge as he jogged to keep pace with Yu Xiang’s determined stride.
His hand reached out, hovering near her shoulder but not quite touching. "Professor Xiang, I’m begging you. Yuna might have misunderstood our situation. Please, try to—"
Yu Xiang paused mid-step, her grip on Yuna’s wrist still ironclad. She turned her head slightly, just enough for her violet goggles to catch the light, and her lips curved into something that might have been a smile if it wasn’t so sharp. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Mr. Aelric," she said, her tone dripping with false sweetness, "are you perhaps suggesting that I ignore a direct assault on academy faculty? That would set quite the precedent, wouldn’t it?"
They’d crossed into the main corridor now. Students lined the walls, their conversations dying the moment they caught sight of the scene. Whispers erupted like wildfire.
"Who is that woman?"
"Wait, isn’t that Yuna from Class F, right?"
"Isn’t that guy Aelric? The one who qualified for Class A but chose F instead?"
Yuna’s ears flattened against her head, her crimson eyes darting between the gathering crowd and Aelric’s increasingly frantic expression.
Humiliation burned hot in her chest, mixing with the bitter sting of betrayal.
She’d come here to save him.
She’d heard those guards talking, heard them mention breaking his leg, and she’d rushed here without a second thought.
And now she was being dragged through the academy like a common criminal while he begged for mercy on her behalf.
She should be the one saving him as a woman, but now...
"Stop, Aelric..." The words burst from her throat, sharp and raw. "Don’t do it..."
But Aelric wasn’t listening.
His blonde hair fell across his face as he shook his head desperately, and suddenly he felt as if his desperation to save her turned into anger.
It was as if due to some reason his anger increased, and unconsciously he yelled, "You stop! You’re not making this better! Can’t you see your future is at stake here?"
His genuine concern was written all over his features, his voice cracking with emotion as he reached for her, trying to stop Yu Xiang’s forward momentum, but he did not notice how he had just stated the words in the wrong way.
Yuna’s chest tightened. She tried to feel that he was doing it out of concern, but her emotions felt tangled as if the disappointed side of his rough words overwhelmed her more.
She was feeling disappointed at him.
Yu Xiang stopped again, this time turning fully to face Aelric. Her expression had shifted from cold professionalism into something harder, more absolute.
"Mr. Aelric," she said, her voice dropping to a register that made the surrounding students unconsciously take a step back. "If you continue to follow us, I will have no choice but to recommend your expulsion as well. Is that what you want?"
The words hit like a physical blow.
Aelric froze mid-step, his entire body going rigid. His mouth opened, then closed. His hands, which had been reaching toward them, slowly lowered to his sides. The color drained from his face as the reality of her threat sank in.
"I..." His voice came out strangled. "I can’t... the academy is..."
’!’
’W-wait, my legs—?!’ Aelric felt something wrong here.
Yuna’s eyes widened as she watched him. She turned her head, looking back at him fully now, her body still being pulled forward by Yu Xiang’s relentless grip.
Her lips parted, a single word escaping like a plea.
"A-Aelric?"
But he wasn’t moving. His fists clenched at his sides, his head bowing slightly as if the weight of the decision was physically crushing him. The Academy. His future. Everything he’d worked for.
It was all written clearly on his face: he couldn’t risk it. Not even for her.
Or at least that’s what Yuna deciphered due to his sudden body reaction.
’Oh, he is finally here.’ Yu Xiang’s lips curled into a satisfied smirk behind her goggles.
’At least you did not run away, husband.’ As if sensing someone’s arrival, Xiang felt satisfied as Akane and she both had worked hard in this small game of his—Akane creating the illusion to fool this woman into slapping her, and she acting all this to just get pregnant by Tianlong.
’By the way, what that vixen asked for... hah?’ Yu Xiang just thought if she asked for pregnancy, what would Akane have asked for in helping him?
But putting that aside, she turned sharply on her heel, yanking Yuna around the corner. "Let’s go, Miss Yuna. Time to face the consequences of your actions."
