Dreaming of you-Chapter 40: The Pen of Truth

It is foggy outside the hospital. There is a tree near the hospital, half of its leaves have been blown away by the storm. The remaining leaves are also falling one by one. The leaves are dry. It turns from green to gray. The weather outside says it will snow soon.

Yeong-ae is sitting on her bed. She looks out with a glance and quietly thinks about something. Today is her last day in this hospital. She woke up from the coma a week ago. She will be released from the hospital today. Because now she is much better than before. She is waiting for her brother.

Yohan is currently talking to the doctor. How will Yohan take care of Yeong-ae, what she can or cannot do, how is her body condition now, about all that. Yohan talks to the doctor while Yeong-ae is in the room. Seeing Yeong-ae looking out so casually, he sighs.

Yeong-ae has been pretty quiet since hearing the news of Taewon’s death. Now She is always apathetic. Doesn’t chatter like before. Maybe being together for so long had created a different feeling! So she was mentally broken. Due to which so quiet, calm, silence has come in her.

Yohan approaches Yeong-ae. Seeing Yohan, Yeong-ae glances at him. Then she hugged him and said,

"oppa... please take me to Taewon’s grave once..!"

Hearing Yeong-ae’s plea, Yohan patted her head.

Me and Jung-hee stand together in front of Brother Taewon and Ha-na’s grave. They were buried next to each other. We pray for them.

" Ha-na, Taewon oppa and I planned to come here together after we punish your murderer. But look, Taewon oppa is lying next to you today. There’s no need to come with me anymore. From now on, he will always be with you. " I look at Ha-na’s grave and says those words in my mind.

Yeong-ae doesn’t like these words. So she got up from there and stood some distance away. I look at her and says,

"A great responsibility has come upon you now. Yeong-ae woke up from coma about 2 weeks after the incident. Now you have to be very careful." I say.

"I don’t understand when Yeong-ae became so weak to Taewon oppa that we didn’t understand. I mean everything happens and we don’t understand or have a doubt? Even all this happened in front of our eyes?" Jung-hee says in surprise.

"Now we should think about how to bring Yeong-ae back to normal. She will have to go to court tomorrow. She has been kept away from the trouble of the court because of her illness. But now? Now Yeong-ae will be grabbed the way a tiger grabs its prey."

Yeong-ae sits in the witness stand. The lawyer asks Yeong-ae,

"So you were kidnapped by se-ra? And then your brother Yohan and friends su-jin, Jung-hee and Taewon go to save you. And there Min-ho kills Taewon and then min-ho kills herself, right?"

"Your Honor, I think they are telling a movie story. Where the male main lead dies saving the female main lead and the villain kills himself at the end because of guilty. I think they are the ones who killed Taewon and then brought in the police to save themselves and killed Min-ho also."

"It may seem like a story to you. But it happened to us. And whoever it happens to, understands what has happened to them. Others will never understand this. They’ll just say, It’s a story. "

"Ms. Yeong-ae, do you think that if you say these emotional things, everyone here will forgive you? Your sins will be erased? That you killed Taewon will become a liar?"

Yeong-ae freaks out a bit as the lawyer shouts. Yeong-ae’s lawyer stands up and says,

"You can’t yell at my client like that. Don’t forget she’s not fully recovered yet."

The judge said to Yeong-ae’s opposing counsel, "You should speak more tolerantly."

"Thank you for your work."

The lawyer says, addressing Yeong-ae. She leaves the stand.

"Your Honor, I would like to call Ms. Su-jin here now."

The judge gestured permission. Yeong-ae leaves. I arrive and stands on the witness stand.

"So, Miss Su-jin, you were there too, right?"

"Yes."

"So I have two questions for you. First question: When you came down, why did you go back to the roof? "

"We hear gunshots. That’s why I think Min-ho might have been hurt. So I go there to help her."

"And that means you thought Min-ho was helping you at first. And then you can find out that Min-ho is actually doing these plans? "

Su-jin was sitting in her room getting ready. Searching for something on the table, than Su-jin finds a pen. Seeing the pen, Su-jin remembers that she took it with her that day. That’s when Su-jin rushes out of the house. Arriving at a shop, Su-jin gives the shopkeeper her pen.

After a while, the shopkeeper comes and gives Su-jin her pen and a pen drive. As Su-jin gets the pen drive, she sits there and watches the video on her laptop. Su-jin had a big smile on her face as she watched the video. Because all the events of that day were captured on camera.

Currently-

Video is over. Everyone in the court understood what happened that day. Everyone was shocked.

"This video shows who is guilty. So the court acquitted Su-jin, Jung-hee, Yohan and Yeong-ae. And because se-ra was involved in bullying, violent and kidnapping, she was sentenced to 3 years in jail. "

After saying that the judge leaves. The police come and want to take Se-ra away. Just then, Se-ra stands in front of me and says,

"I have done many mistakes in my life. I have done many wrong things. Then there was no guilt in me. But today... today when I lost everything and became destitute, I understand my mistakes. I may not be able to fix all of the past but you really deserve an apology from me. But today I will not apologize to you. I will suffer the punishment of my crime. And I will make myself a good person. Then I apologize to you. I will meet you again before I die for that apology. Will you meet me? "

Se-ra’s eyes are full of tears. How much she regrets, how much she suffers from is evident in her eyes. I smiles and holds Se-ra’s hand reassuringly with a eye contact. Se-ra smiles reassuringly at my answer. The police took her away.

However, there is no pain, anger or negativity in Se-ra’s face. Today Se-ra is very happy because Se-ra is going to reinvent herself, she is going to make a new her. which no one has seen before. Se-ra’s eyes water, this water is calm, this water is joy.

As Se-ra leaves, Yeong-ae, Jung-hee, and Brother Yohan, all of them comes to me. Jung-hee narrows her eyes and says,

"I didn’t know that myself. I realized this morning that I took the pen that day. I always kept the pen with me to gather evidence against se-ra. But I didn’t think everything would change like that. "

"What did se-ra say to you?" Yeong-ae asks.

I give a soothing smile at yeong-ae’s question as an answer. But none of them understand the meaning of my smile.
