"Damn!"

"What a crappy task!"

"Clean the blackboard!"

Li Hua and Jiang Nian each grabbed a rag. Watching Qianbao leave with a smile, they exchanged puzzled looks.

"Can we just let this slide?"

"No way." Jiang Nian clenched his fist, watching the attractive back of the troublesome woman, "Next time, I'm not cleaning the board for her."

Li Hua couldn't help but laugh, "Dude, you're really letting us guys down!"

No matter how they felt, neither of them could avoid the destiny of cleaning the blackboard and were even moved to different seats during class.

On the left and right of the classroom, the two of them sat like watchmen in the front row.

Whenever Qianbao needed something, a single glance would do. One of them would grudgingly go up to clean the blackboard.

The old woman was truly crafty.

Soon enough, the leaders arrived. Sitting in the observation seats, they pretended to be engaged while playing with their phones.

Occasionally, they'd look up at the big screen to show some semblance of interest.

The process of the open class was fairly simple: present the main topic, examples, student discussions, answer presentations, done.

Class Three, being the top science Olympic competition class, had plenty of students proficient in English, and the class went fairly well.

As soon as Qianbao asked a question, several students immediately raised their hands.

Li Hua watched them, feeling a bit out of the loop. How did these guys suddenly get so good at English?

Jiang Nian yawned, feeling somewhat absent-minded.

His seat was a bit isolated, with no one beside him. The class monitor and Cai Xiaoqing sat behind him, which was somewhat of a seating perk.

"Alright, let's have a group discussion!" Qianbao said, "In five minutes, each group will have a representative to answer."

Jiang Nian turned his head, winking at Cai Xiaoqing.

"Soy..."

"Click!" Cai Xiaoqing pressed down the tip of her pen, abruptly cutting off someone's cheeky behavior.

"These leaders are really something, bored out of their minds." Jiang Nian swiftly changed the subject, looking at the class monitor.

"What are you planning to do this afternoon?"

Li Qingrong heard this without any change in expression. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Going out."

"Where to?" Jiang Nian was a bit surprised; the class monitor was usually a homebody. "Going out to eat?"

"Buying ornamental fish," Nie Qiqi chimed in, "I'm preparing to give one to everyone, including the class monitor."

"What about me?" Jiang Nian leaned in.

"Not for you," Nie Qiqi replied decisively, showing no mercy to him, "Dream on."

"No problem, I'll share one with Qingqing," Jiang Nian wasn't bothered; he wasn't interested in goldfish anyway.

Boys weren't typically enthusiastic about pets.

Except for Tao Ran.

He had just turned away when Qianbao called him up. The old woman was handy with orders and said casually.

"Go clean the blackboard."

Jiang Nian: "....."

Wait, are you only picking on one person?

Thinking quickly, he pointed to the other side of the classroom, "Teacher, Li Hua is almost asleep."

Qianbao turned to look and was speechless.

"Stop framing people."

Jiang Nian was at a loss too. But with Qianbao pressing so hard, he had no choice but to get up reluctantly, effectively "going on TV."

On the other side of the classroom, Li Hua was amused.

"Stuff from Chi Shi."

After laughing, he felt empty inside and envied those cleaning the blackboard, thinking his good days were numbered.

How many days could he continue coasting through the grades without understanding English?

In a few months, new students would replace the old ones.

Who would remember Li Hua?

The class wound down, approaching its end. Nothing too special, most of the time was spent messing around.

At the two group discussion sessions, Jiang Nian didn't even look at the questions. With a big grin, he kept chatting with Li Qingrong.

When it came time to answer, Cai Xiaoqing stepped up.

Soy Milk did her best.

The only one not content was Zhang Ningzhi. They had planned to sit together, but Jiang Nian was reassigned.

Yet thinking of the imminent school dismissal, she was at peace.

The open class ended successfully, but there were still twenty minutes left before school was out, and Class Three students began self-studying on their own.

The leaders got up and applauded, and Qianbao walked over to chat a bit.

The student union members from Second Year focused intently on gadgets, putting on a high-cold act, sneaking peeks at the beautiful senior.

Comparing her to the second-year girls in their minds, they regretted their bad timing.

If only they'd been born a year earlier.

Unfortunately, they came at the wrong time!

The leaders said a few polite words and left; they didn't really understand anyway. It was all just for show, just boosting each other.

After sending off the leaders, Qianbao returned to the classroom. The once quiet self-study session became noisy in an instant.

"Teacher! I answered two questions! I was the most active in raising my hand, is there a reward?"

"Please, I went on stage twice!"

"I went on stage too."

"Dude, does cleaning the blackboard count?"

"Why wouldn't it count?"

"Chi Shi!"

Qianbao smiled, but at the chaotic scene, her head ached a bit, so she clapped to call a halt.

"Those who performed well will get a reward. On Monday, I'll have the class representative distribute snacks."

The old woman had this redeeming quality; though lazy and distracted most of the time, she had teaching skills and was generous to students.

"Teacher, what about me?" Jiang Nian asked.

Qianbao thought for a moment and said,

"You cleaned the blackboard well; I'll give you a rag."

Upon hearing this, the class burst into laughter. Jiang Nian's face turned grim, thinking to himself that women truly couldn't be trusted.

But at least milk tea would be a given.

....

After school.

Jiang Nian took the initiative to handle the task of putting books back in the classroom, picking up Zhang Ningzhi and the others' books and carrying them back.

Zhang Ningzhi pursed her lips and winked at him. The two of them had been desk mates for over half a year, developing a tacit understanding.

[See you outside the school.]

Jiang Nian nodded, [Okay.]

Zhang Ningzhi also nodded, thought for a moment, and then held up two fingers.

[Two cups of milk tea?]

Jiang Nian was about to shake his head; he didn't like milk tea. He preferred drinking water when out and about, but caught a glimpse...

The girl was blinking at him with her mouth about to pout any moment.
