Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 76: Price
"That bastard Cassian Jennings made my Amelia cry her eyes out. How could I not teach him a lesson? Even though Gia Miller might be innocent, Cassian still yelled at Amelia for a woman like her. So as far as I’m concerned, Gia will have to pay a price, and Cassian certainly won’t get away with it."
"Mm, you have a point."
In the police car, Cassian Jennings sneezed several times in a row. A strange chill washed over him.
’It feels like someone is plotting against me.’
...
As the car drew closer and closer to a suburban villa district, Mika Summers was filled with suspicion and worry.
Just a few hundred more meters and they would be at the Grayson Family villa. "Brother, why did you bring me here?"
"We’re going home to see Mom and Dad."
’Go home? See Mom and Dad? This isn’t the way to their place.’
"Brother, are you sure this is the right way?"
"Mhm."
Hearing her brother’s casual confirmation, Mika nervously stared straight ahead, terrified the car would stop at the Grayson estate.
Archie, sitting beside her, had already noticed the expression on Mika’s face. He furrowed his brow slightly. ’Mika seems terrified of the Graysons.’
Only after the car drove past the Grayson estate did Mika finally let out a sigh of relief and relax back into her seat.
They drove for nearly another half hour before the car finally came to a stop.
After getting out, Mika looked around. All she could see was dense forest in every direction. There wasn’t a single house in sight. The gloomy atmosphere sent a shiver down her spine. "Brother, are we lost?"
"Heh..." Archie chuckled, amused by Mika’s reaction. He teased, "Yep. This is an animal sanctuary. We might see some tigers or lions come out soon."
"What! Brother, how could you bring me here?!" Mika shrieked. She immediately clapped a hand over her mouth in fear, ducking behind Archie and grumbling in protest.
The amusement in Archie’s eyes deepened, but his words were full of mock disdain. "Look at you, such a coward. You’re a real embarrassment to me. Come on, Mom and Dad are waiting for you at home."
With that, Archie led the way into the woods. Mika’s eyes widened, but she quickly hurried after him.
The forest only looked dense from the outside; it took just five minutes to walk through. As they emerged, she saw a villa even larger than the Graysons’. Three luxury cars were parked outside. Mika stared at the scene in astonishment.
Suddenly, however, "WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!" Before Mika could fully process her surprise, she was startled by the ferocious barking of two large German Shepherds tied up by the gate.
Mika scrambled behind Archie, clutching his clothes tightly. "Brother, are you sure we’re in the right place? Don’t tell me... Mom and Dad live here?"
"Yep. Look at this pathetic display. Don’t worry, they won’t bite you." Archie smiled, then walked over and crouched in front of the two German Shepherds. He whispered something to them, and Mika watched as they both obediently lay down on the ground.
Mika stared at Archie, completely dumbfounded.
’Was this still her brother? Her actual brother?’
"What are you gawking at? Let’s go," Archie glanced back and said with a raised eyebrow.
Mika suppressed her shock and followed Archie through the main gate toward the house. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Archie, you’re back!" A woman’s voice called out just as Archie stepped through the doorway. The next moment, a smiling woman threw herself at him.
With a cold expression, Archie sidestepped her and gave a chilly, "Mhm."
The woman missed, but she didn’t seem angry. She simply lifted her beautiful eyes to look at Mika. After a moment, she said with a warm smile, "You must be Mika. I’ve heard your brother talk about you so often. It’s so nice to finally meet you."
