Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Punishment

In an instant, a chill shot through Mika Summers’s entire body.

She looked at Tristan Grayson in disbelief, but his next words felt like they instantly tore her heart to shreds.

"You’re the reason she was forced to go abroad! You’re the reason she almost died! You deserve to be punished, and this is my punishment for you!"

The moment he finished speaking, Tristan Grayson lowered his head and bit down hard on her neck. A piercing pain made her cry out, "Ah! It hurts..." Her hands dug into his shoulders.

Tristan Grayson didn’t stop until he drew blood from her neck. He looked up at her, at her face contorted in an ugly grimace of pain, and a flicker of pity crossed his mind. But then he remembered how she had just used Maggie Monroe to threaten him, and his anger became impossible to suppress.

’He didn’t know why hearing Maggie Monroe’s name from her lips made him so angry, but he just didn’t want her to ever mention Maggie again.’

Mika Summers saw him stop and stare intently at her with an expression she couldn’t decipher. Fear, sorrow, and a sense of being wronged all welled up at once.

Touching the wound on her neck, she tearfully struggled out from under him. She got out of bed, snatched up her clothes, and fished out her phone. ’I have to call my brother,’ she thought. ’I have to tell him I can’t stay here any longer. Not for one more second.’

But when she turned on her phone and saw the numerous missed calls, she froze. Thirteen missed calls from her brother and five from her parents.

She let out a wail and cried even harder. ’Look at me now, so degraded just for loving someone. How can I possibly face my parents and my brother?’

’When the time is up, I’m leaving Tristan Grayson. I’ll leave him for good and never have anything to do with him ever again.’

Just then, her phone suddenly rang. She saw the caller ID on the screen, wrapped her arms around herself, and sank to the floor, burying her head in her knees and sobbing uncontrollably.

’In this state, how could I possibly answer my brother’s call?’

The ringing phone and the woman’s sobs grated on Tristan Grayson, pushing his irritation to the breaking point.

He shot up from the bed and walked over to her.

He glanced down at the phone she was clutching, his brow furrowing slightly before he reached out and snatched it from her grasp.

In the middle of her intense sobs, her phone was ripped away. Her eyes red with tears, she glared at Tristan Grayson and screamed, "What do you think you’re doing?!"

Tristan Grayson ignored her, simply turning to answer the call as he walked back to the bed.

The call connected. Before Tristan Grayson could speak, a frantic voice came through the line.

"Mika, you finally answered! Where are you? Are you safe?"

Hearing this, Tristan Grayson looked down and let out a cold, mocking laugh. "She’s perfectly safe. No need for Mr. Summers to concern himself."

"Who is this? Why isn’t Mika answering? Where is she?" Archie Summers’s voice immediately grew wary upon hearing a man’s voice.

"Hah..." Tristan Grayson let out another cold laugh. After a long pause, his voice grew heavy as he spoke slowly, "You have a rather poor memory, Mr. Summers. It was just this afternoon that you had your men tailing Miss Summers and me, and now you’ve already forgotten me? Or perhaps you had your men tailing the wrong people?"

Archie Summers was sharp. He had already guessed who was on the line the moment Tristan Grayson spoke. What he hadn’t expected was that Tristan would have figured out it was he who had them followed.

"Tristan Grayson, I don’t care if you genuinely like our Mika or if you’re just using her for business. Now that I’m back, you will stay out of her life from this day forward."
