Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Command

Mika Summers helped Amelia Avery up from the floor and led her toward the door.

This place didn’t belong to Amelia Avery, nor did it belong to her.

Neither of them belonged in a place like this.

Watching Mika leave with Amelia Avery without another word, Tristan Grayson’s face darkened. He stood, rounded the table, and walked over to Cassian Jennings.

"You’ve gone too far. Even if you want her to give up, it shouldn’t be over a woman like *this*." After he spoke, Tristan Grayson shot Gia Miller a vicious glare before heading for the door.

Cassian Jennings was stunned.

’Did I really go too far? But Amelia was the one who threw the first punch.’

Cassian Jennings couldn’t care less that Gia Miller had been hit; he rushed after Tristan Grayson.

’I’m regretting this so much. That girl is incredibly stubborn. No matter how harshly I’ve spoken to her in the past, she’s never cried like she did today.’

Nearby, Gia Miller shuddered violently when she heard what Tristan Grayson said.

’A woman like *this*?’

’So, in Tristan Grayson’s eyes, that’s the kind of woman I am?’

In an instant, her heart turned to ice.

Before, even when Tristan Grayson had never said a single word to her, she had never felt this miserable.

When she saw even Cassian Jennings rush out after them, all she could do was smile bitterly.

’No matter how hard I try, I can never break into their circle.’

’They’ve never once seen me as a friend.’

Mika Summers hadn’t expected Tristan Grayson to emerge from the bar right after she and Amelia Avery had left.

"Get in." Tristan Grayson got into his car and gave them a cold command.

"Oh..." she replied, helping Amelia Avery into the car.

Just as Tristan Grayson started the engine, Cassian Jennings ran out after them. He wanted to call out and stop them, but he couldn’t bring himself to say a word.

He just stood there and watched Tristan drive away with them. It took him a long moment to react. Then, he quickly fumbled for his keys, sprinted to a blue sports car, and vaulted inside, steadying himself with one hand on the car’s body.

「Inside Tristan’s car.」

Mika Summers watched as Amelia Avery kept crying, so she sat beside her and started crying too.

Tristan Grayson couldn’t even focus on driving. ’These two women have been crying nonstop since they got in. It makes me want to pull over and throw them both out.’

After crying for a long time, Mika Summers suddenly realized the atmosphere in the car was a little off.

’And why did I start crying too? I’m supposed to be comforting her.’ At that thought, Mika Summers quickly began to console Amelia Avery. "Alright, don’t cry..."

"SOB... I don’t want to cry... but it just hurts so much..."

"You can’t force matters of the heart. Maybe you’ll feel better after a while."

Amelia Avery shook her head, her voice choked with sobs. "Mika, you don’t understand. I love him. I’ve loved him ever since we were children."

’How could I not understand how she feels? It’s just... with a hopeless love like this, it’s better to end it sooner rather than later. So you don’t end up like me.’

Up front, Tristan Grayson couldn’t stop himself from scolding her. "Amelia Avery, just give it up. It’s never going to happen with you and Cassian Jennings." ’If she were my own sister, I’d have to slap some sense into her. Why is she so stubborn and disobedient?’

’What kind of person is Cassian, anyway? A total playboy who just fools around all day without a real job. I really don’t get what Amelia sees in him.’

’I know it’s not right to talk about my best friend this way, but if my own sister ever fell for Cassian, I’d ship him off to a coal mine in Africa. At least then he wouldn’t be out here ruining the lives of young women.’
