Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 46: Warning
Having made up his mind, he called Henry Archer.
Once Mika Summers gave birth to the child, thirty percent of his assets would automatically be transferred to her name.
And their child would be the next heir to the LK Group.
Although their marriage was a sham and devoid of love, he still wouldn’t treat her poorly.
’Doesn’t she like money? Then he would give her more money than she could ever spend.’
...
By the time Mika Summers came downstairs, Tiana was sitting on the sofa, looking at something on her phone.
The moment she saw Mika, Tiana quickly put her phone away and asked with concern, "Sister-in-law, why do you look so pale?"
"I’m fine, Tiana. Could you find me an outfit of yours to wear?" She forced a smile and shook her head.
"Of course. Come with me, Sister-in-law."
"Okay."
She followed Tiana to her room.
Tiana opened her closet and gestured casually at the clothes inside. "Sister-in-law, just pick out whatever you like."
"Thank you, Tiana."
Tiana seemed taken aback by her words. The light in her eyes dimmed a little as she sat down on the bed behind her. Looking up at Mika, she asked seriously, "Sister-in-law, did you have a fight with my brother?"
Mika Summers was just about to reach for a black athletic outfit when she heard Tiana’s question.
Her outstretched hand froze in mid-air, and the forced smile on her face stiffened.
"Sister-in-law, I overheard Mom and Dad talking last night. They said... you’re getting a divorce. Sister-in-law, tell me, is it true?"
A wave of bitterness washed over Mika at Tiana’s words. ’So Mom and Dad already knew we were divorced.’
Tiana looked down, her voice trembling. "Sister-in-law, Grandma just passed away. I don’t want to see you and my brother get divorced, too. If that happens... our family will really fall apart."
Fighting back tears, she picked up the athletic wear, turned around, and forced a smile. She comforted Tiana in a soft voice, "Tiana, don’t overthink things. Your brother and I didn’t have a fight, and we’re not getting a divorce."
"Really? Are you sure, Sister-in-law?" Tiana looked up abruptly, her voice filled with excitement.
"Yes, really..."
Tiana stood up, hugged her, and said through her tears, "If that’s true, I’m so relieved."
"Alright, you’re a grown woman now. Stop crying."
Tiana raised her hand and swore, "Don’t worry, Sister-in-law. If my brother ever dares to bully you, just tell me. I’ll get him back for you."
Seeing Tiana’s adorable expression, Mika couldn’t help but laugh. "Pfft... Silly girl, why would your brother bully me? Okay, you go wait outside. I’m going to take a shower and change."
"Okay, okay."
After Tiana left, it was as if all the strength had been drained from Mika’s body. Her legs gave out, and she sank to her knees on the floor.
’So this is how exhausting it is to lie.’
She closed her eyes in anguish, letting the tears stream freely down her face. ’Tiana, forgive me for lying to you. I really, truly want to be your sister-in-law, to be part of your family, but...’
Tristan Grayson took a quick shower, changed into a black set of athletic wear, and went out.
As soon as he stepped out, he saw Tiana waiting right outside his door.
He frowned in confusion. "Tiana, what are you doing here?"
"Brother, I’m warning you. If you ever dare to bully my sister-in-law again, I’ll disown you!" Having said her piece, Tiana stormed downstairs.
Leaving Tristan Grayson standing there, stunned and completely baffled.
