Divorce, Please: The Young Master Does Not Love Me-Chapter 109: Pregnancy
Tristan Grayson pushed his thoughts aside and leaned back in his chair, asking in a low voice, "Why are you back so suddenly?" The thought of Maggie Monroe being abroad all by herself gave him a headache.
"Heh, what choice did I have? That bastard Cassian Jennings actually dared to threaten me over Gia Miller. It seems our years of brotherhood have come to an end," Aiden Avery said angrily, sitting down beside Tristan Grayson.
Tristan Grayson pinched the bridge of his nose and sneered disdainfully. "It’s not worth it over some woman."
"Tristan Grayson, that’s easy for you to say! I’m telling you, stay out of this thing between me and Cassian Jennings!"
"How childish. I’m not as idle as the two of you."
"You..." Aiden Avery’s face darkened. Just as he was about to curse Tristan Grayson for being heartless, he saw Tristan shoot to his feet and walk toward the hospital room across the hall.
Just then, three doctors and a nurse emerged from the room. One of the doctors, his expression grave, said, "Young Master Grayson, I believe your wife is pregnant. How could you two not exercise a little self-control?"
"Pregnant? How could she be pregnant?" Tristan Grayson exclaimed in shock. The image of the bloodstain on the bed flashed in his mind, and his heart seized in his chest. "What about the baby? Is the baby okay?"
"Although we can’t be certain she’s pregnant just yet, the bloodwork shows a high probability. But don’t worry, it’s nothing serious. As long as she eats well and gets some rest to build up her strength, she’ll be fine."
Hearing the doctor’s words, Tristan Grayson finally breathed a sigh of relief. "That’s good!"
Tristan Grayson may have been relieved, but his response angered the doctor. "Young Master Grayson, aren’t you even going to ask how your wife is doing? Do you have any idea how poor her health is?"
"What’s wrong with her?" Tristan Grayson’s heart clenched tight once more, and he found it hard to breathe.
"She’s suffering from chronic malnutrition, causing many of her key health indicators to be below standard. If she doesn’t take this chance to recuperate properly, even if she is pregnant, she could miscarry at any time. What happened today could easily happen again."
’Chronic malnutrition?’ ’That woman didn’t seem malnourished at all. Every time they argued, she had more than enough energy to drive him half-mad with anger.’
Seeing the dark look on Tristan Grayson’s face, Aiden Avery quickly stepped forward and said with a smile, "Alright, Alden, we understand. It’s getting late, you all should head home and get some rest."
"Alright, we’ll be on our way then."
As they watched them leave, Aiden Avery clapped Tristan Grayson on the shoulder with a smile. "Not bad, Tristan. I’m gone for just a few days, and you’re already about to be a dad."
"There’s nothing for you here. Go home," Tristan Grayson said coldly, glancing at him.
The smile on Aiden Avery’s face froze. "Tristan Grayson, you can’t just use me and toss me aside like that! I haven’t even met your wife yet, and you’re already trying to kick me out!"
He knew that Tristan Grayson had been married for three years, but he had never once met the actual Mrs. Grayson. There was no way he was leaving now without even a single glimpse.
"You can meet her, but not right now. My grandmother’s funeral is tomorrow, so I can’t stay here with her. I’m leaving her in your care. You studied medicine, so you’ll know better than me what she should eat to regain her strength for the pregnancy."
"Fine, I’ll come back tomorrow then." Hearing Tristan Grayson’s explanation, Aiden Avery finally relented and left.
After Tristan Grayson entered the hospital room, he gently closed the door behind him. He walked to the bedside and gazed down at the sleeping woman, his brow furrowed and his eyes filled with a complex swirl of emotions.
