Divine Magus: Awakening-Chapter 45: Blood Witch
Chapter 45: Blood Witch
Torrents of blood flowed unnaturally and unceasingly like an encroaching tsunami.
Lifting her hands far above her head, the woman created a few spikes made of blood.
The woman burst out laughing as her eyes took on a crimson glow.
"Don’t worry though. You’ll soon find yourself with her." She inhaled sharply before sending the weapons flying to the mother of the deceased.
At the last second however, a massive wind storm crashed into the weapons made of blood shattering them as a figure descended from the sky.
"Have you fully lost it Blood Witch?" The person who descended from the sky asked as his figure became visible.
He had blonde hair that was large and flowing.
Pointing at himself, the man demanded to speak to the Blood Witch directly.
Rather than pay him mind, the Blood Witch laughed out her heart before announcing her decision to destroy the entire village and all of its inhabitants.
The few people who were still alive started to panic. They feared that their sudden savior wouldn’t be able to stop the blood Witch.
Heck, they didn’t mind the two Titanic figures fighting with godlike powers as long as they were alive.
Waving his hand at the Blood Witch, a dome appeared around her.
The dome slowly lost all air within it until it became a vacuum.
In a vacuum there was no sound and if there’s no sound then there’s no casting.
The laugh that consistently echoed about finally stopped when the dome completely lacked air within.
The Blood Witch looked at the dome in fear.
Moving in a particular direction didn’t help because the spell ensures that the target is the focus and center of the spell.
Looking into her fear filled eyes filled the man with a faint sense of accomplishment.
He watched as she struggled to breathe, as she suffocated and passed out.
Dropping the barrier at that moment was the biggest mistake he could have made yet he did because he got conceited.
The Blood Witch put some distance between her and the man.
A blade appeared in her hand and she stabbed her forearm.
Crimson fluid flowed down the arm until it stopped flowing.
Her blood slowly started levitating until it became six bullets made from blood.
Firing them, she turned to make more cuts on herself.
The bullets she fired were easily avoided by the man.
"So this is the all powerful "Blood Witch" Minerva." The man spat.
"I should say I expected more but that’ll be a lie. All you town rate are the same." He mocked with his eyes still fixed on Minerva.
Gritting her teeth, Minerva cursed her luck much to the man’s hearing.
He smiled to himself. As far as he was concerned all he had to do was convince her to follow him to the royal court.
"While I may have an opinion of those like you that might affect my judgement on certain matters, the Royal Court does not. It’ll give you a fair hearing." The man started to explain the legal processes in the kingdom.
As he was about halfway into his explanation, he heard something behind him and immediately jumped on air to avoid it.
Looking back, he could see what appeared to be a humanoid mass of blood with long claws swiping at him.
The man managed to perform evasive manoeuvres that put some space between the blood golem and him.
The man placed his hand together and weaved a spell while maintaining eye contact with Minerva who still hasn’t moved since.
A large wind blade appeared and severed the golem in two.
Pride started to swell within the man when the blood on the golem he had just killed crumbled.
The woman whom Minerva had tried to kill was now dead having been severed in half by the person who saved her.
"Karmic law." Minerva cackled.
"What to goes around must sure come back around." She sighed with a wistful expression.
The man on the other hand was beyond furious.
How he had been tricked into killing an innocent civilian was what he did not know.
What he did know however was that a missing limbor two wouldn’t necessarily incite the ire of the kingdom.
As he placed his hands together to cast a spell, a few dozen more figures obstructed his path with all of them being covered in blood.
Placing her hands to her side, a chain made of blood materialized itself out of the one already shed.
Twisting her body unnaturally, she sent the chain flying at the man.
He clapped his hand and generated enough wind to push everything away from him.
As the dust that rose in the process fell, a small blade made out of blood could be seen embedded in his forearm.
The blade turned into liquid and entered his bloodstream before he could do anything.
At first nothing strange happened until his muscle involuntarily jerked and twitched. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
His muscles started going through spasms and he fell to kis knees.
"There are many things I’d rather do than torture you so tell me where he is?" Minerva walked up to the man and knelt beside him.
"We both know why the kingdom sent you to stop me. They know that I’m onto their lies and their schemes and shame prevents them from accepting it." She gripping his face.
"Tell me where he is goddamit!" She threw him to the ground.
"You know why they sent you a B-rank mage to deal with me? Because I was once an S-rank mage myself but I gave up on that to fuel an enchantment " Minerva’s eyes glistened a bit.
"Impossible! The Rune Magus can take control of any enchantment." The man countered.
As far as he knew, she was indeed S-rank but had fallen in ranks after performing a forbidden experiment that gave her blood magic.
"You can’t control an enchantment if it’s your blood. The enchantment turns the blood of anyone who kills me to a type of poison." She smiled.
"It was indeed quite a show when the royal family found out about it. Now tell me where he is. Tell me where the prince is."
