It didn't take long for everything to return to normal, as the control of the oil painting shifted from the ancient existence to Shen Yu.

He simply waved his hand, turning everything back to normal, and turned to look at his wives.

He was only worried that something might have happened to them, even though he had been keeping an eye on them and they had his mark as well.

After all, he was dealing with an entity probably on the same level as his mother. That was terrifying, but surprisingly, he didn't feel any fear from it.

Even Nancy was surprised at how calmly Shen Yu dealt with the threat. She eyed him and asked,

"How did you do that, Master?"

Shen Yu clicked his fingers, making time stop around them as he wanted to keep this conversation a secret.

This was all because it involved an Outer God.

While Shen Yu and Nancy had no problems discussing such matters, it was mostly due to their connection with his mother.

Others, however, might attract the attention of the Outer Gods just by knowing about them. That would be problematic, as Shen Yu wasn't sure if he could handle all of that.

Finally isolated, Shen Yu heaved a sigh of relief and said,

"I don't know. I just felt like the power looked good, so I stole it. Don't ask me how, because I just felt like it and did it."

Nancy raised an eyebrow, and a hypothesis formed in her mind—something she dared not believe.

'I can't say anything unless I'm really sure. But it would explain his bad luck and also the reason why she sent him here in the first place.'

She took a deep breath and thought,

'Just what is happening in the cosmos? I need to...'

Her thoughts halted as she remembered something.

'No way! It can't be, right? That's just absurd.'

While Nancy was lost in her train of thoughts, Shen Yu was experimenting with his new powers, gaining an understanding of them.

He drew a square in the empty air and watched how the three-dimensional space bent to form a two-dimensional oil painting.

He touched it and thought,

'It basically lets me see all of reality as nothing but an oil painting on a canvas. Nothing but a simple painting that I can change and even erase.'

It was a mind-blowing power that reminded Shen Yu once again just how powerful and harrowing the Outer Deities were.

If it hadn't been for his presence, this world might have been erased from existence, just because someone thought of it as unnecessary colors on an oil painting.

The thought was chilling, to say the least.

He clenched his fist, returning everything to normal.

"Master, I'm sorry, I should have anticipated it."

Shen Yu turned toward Nancy, who was lowering her head, and said,

"There's no need for you to apologize. It's not like you can predict what Outer Gods are capable of or what they think. Anyway, care to explain what happened? I'm still a little confused."

Nancy nodded and explained.

"The source of the majority of systems leads to the Outer God who holds Destruction as his main domain. 'He' also wields many other domains, and the creation of systems falls within that domain."

She stared at her hand and continued,

"Others can also create systems, but it's not in their domain. I was also created by 'him,' and maybe that's why there's some residual power in me. 'He' probably sensed the creation of the system through me and got offended that someone else dared to invade his domain."

She smiled wryly.

"But I'm sure it's mostly because of you, and the fact that you set me free. You also helped me evolve into something no other system had managed to do. Most of the Outer Gods don't like each other, and your existence..."

She paused, as if struggling to voice her thoughts.

The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.

Shen Yu noticed it but didn't press her further.

"So, he's just a jealous bastard, huh. I'm still thankful he did that, though, because I got this ability. I don't know what it's called, though."

Nancy shook her head, walking over to his side.

"It doesn't really have a name, but it's one of his main domain abilities. You're really lucky, Master, because now you have two abilities from the Outer Gods. Congratulations."

Shen Yu smiled and asked,

"By the way, is my mother's name Evernight?"

Nancy nodded.

"More like it's her honorific title, as she controls the domain of darkness. And the vast cosmos is nothing but darkness, so many don't like her."

She focused her attention on the crimson sphere and said,

"We can discuss all of that later, Master. He won't do anything to us anytime soon, so there's nothing to worry about. We can focus on what's in front of us."

Shen Yu gave her a side glance and nodded. He didn't know where her confidence came from, but he didn't ask. She knew more about the Outer Gods than he did anyway.

Turning toward the sphere, he clicked his fingers, and time around them resumed once again, returning everyone to their senses.

"You can open your eyes now. Everything is fine."

Hearing his calm voice directly in their minds, Stone and his wives opened their eyes and unsealed their other senses.

Ying Yue stared at the crimson sphere, her thoughts churning at an incredible rate, but she stayed silent. Lan Ming was in the same situation, silently processing everything.

As for Stone, he didn't really care about anything as long as he was safe. He was just a subordinate and had no right to question his superiors.

Shen Yu asked Nancy,

"Is it done?"

Nancy lingered for a while before answering.

"Yes, it's done. Now, as you are her master, you also need to give her a name."

Shen Yu raised an eyebrow and asked,

"Is that necessary? Does that mean you also had a name before?"

Nancy scoffed at his words.

"Of course, but it was just a random bunch of code in whatever language he preferred. It's not like I'm the only one—after all, he just names whatever comes to his mind."

Shen Yu nodded and smiled at the crimson sphere.

"Then, from today onwards, you are Lilith, the first-born of systems that I will create."

[Understood, Master.]
