Chapter 1940: Chapter 1941: Wetland

Little Rock Wolf seemed quite unaccustomed as he followed everyone out of the cave, leaving Feng Yuan puzzled as he stared in astonishment at the wetlands and said,

"You guys are really bold, but why would there be wetlands here?"

Although it was strange, Feng Yuan could still discern that this wetland wasn’t artificially created, yet, claiming it was naturally formed seemed unreliable too. After all, what kind of wetland hides halfway up the mountain?

The Patrolman chuckled mysteriously and said,

"What do you think?"

Perhaps it was the earlier guesses by Feng Yuan and the others that had startled him, prompting the Patrolman to tease Feng Yuan a bit. In result, Feng Yuan glanced at the group of wandering Spirit Beasts and realized something, saying,

"I see, the Spirit Beasts are altering the environment? Then, the waterfall’s water source must be an outlet of an underground water vein, right?"

Under normal circumstances, creating a raging waterfall at the mountain peak is almost impossible. However, at the outlet of an underground water vein, it’s a different story; outlets could appear in a variety of bizarre locations.

Water emerging from underground water veins is also the cleanest, not referring to hygiene, but rather its unique purity in energy.

You could say that the water emerging freshly from underground water veins hasn’t been tainted by other energies, a favorite among water-type Spirit Beasts.

No wonder they transformed this place into a wetland. But what Feng Yuan is more concerned about is, are they serious about setting a power station here?

Are they not afraid of leaking electricity and electrifying the entire wetland? If such a scenario were to occur, it would be quite a spectacle. Although it might not cause significant harm to juvenile water-type Spirit Beasts, panic is inevitable.

Meeting Feng Yuan’s peculiar gaze, the Patrolman scratched his head and said,

"Don’t look at me like that. The power station here is primarily set up to provide emergency services for them. Related protections have been optimized to the limit; otherwise, they wouldn’t agree to let us do this."

Kidding, those Spirit Beasts aren’t foolish; creating something electrified in a wetland without proper safety handling would surely infuriate them.

Upon hearing this, Feng Yuan looked at the wetland and chuckled, saying,

"This place is no good for Xiao Ji~"

Glaring at Feng Yuan, Xiao Ji called out discontentedly. The place was filled with water; no wonder Xiao Ji didn’t like it.

Veronia chuckled lightly, "You could hold it, but it’s quite funny how this place hasn’t been discovered all along."

The Patrolman froze, not comprehending what Veronia meant since this place had long been marked on the Great Xia’s map. How could it remain undiscovered?

Feng Yuan chuckled and said,

"You mean it isn’t covert?"

"I never said that, but the underground water vein’s water is inherently different. This distance is far from enough to diminish its allure to water-type Spirit Beasts. Are others not curious about why the pool below gathers so many water-type Spirit Beasts?"

Veronia shot a glance at Feng Yuan with a hint of frustration, and Feng Yuan was taken aback. Veronia was correct; attributing the wetland’s contamination loses its unique effects? That seems plausible, but ordinarily, Spirit Beasts wouldn’t do such a thing, as it would equally affect the wetland’s environment.

The Patrolman chuckled, "Ah, that’s what it’s about. Actually, by the time the water nears the foot of the mountain, its quality is nearly similar to ordinary water. The professors at Maomu University couldn’t pinpoint the cause, merely theorizing some special forces affecting the waterfall’s flow at the foot."

Everyone was stunned, Dou Yanlan puzzledly asked the Patrolman,

"It’s quite evident, yet you haven’t thought about investigating underground cavities?"

"Why investigate underground cavities? There aren’t any... special features?"

The Patrolman momentarily didn’t grasp it, but upon seeing Little Rock Wolf, he recollected Feng Yuan and their discussion about his survival environment, sensing something amiss.

Initially, everyone assumed the expansive underground cavity likely served as the birthplace for special energy essential for Little Rock Wolf.

Yet, as recalled from exchanges between Feng Yuan and Veronia, the underground cavity itself lacks the conditions to naturally gather special energy, but detection revealed its presence. The fact Little Rock Wolf clan dwells there seemingly confirms this.

Reflecting deeper, could it be...?

Did Feng Yuan and the others misjudge?

This thought only lingered briefly in the Patrolman’s mind before he discarded it; impossible. Feng Yuan might be unfamiliar, yet it’s implausible that Veronia, as a Divine Beast, wouldn’t know, or would falsely state those facts.

Tamur circled Feng Yuan and said,

"You guys spooked them."

"Hehe, well, that place evidently has issues, perhaps related to Kastantos or something else, considering the relics from the Mythical Era... I doubt there are so many..."

Scratching his head, Feng Yuan chuckled. Although he felt it might merely be coincidental, the timing was quite uncanny wasn’t it?

Veronia pondered, "Maybe it truly relates to Kastantos. After all, quite a few replicas exist, yet why did they place replicas here?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

Due to Tamur, many artifacts imitating Kastantos technology emerged in the Divine Land Region. Despite lacking Kastantos’ technical prowess, the effects of such objects aren’t entirely unforeseen.

Being mindful of Tamur’s presence, Veronia refrained from speaking explicitly. Such matters involve Tamur’s responsibility too.

Perhaps understanding this, Tamur floated around the group without speaking, and Feng Yuan chuckled,

"Replicas? That’s plausible, though investigation should be left to them."

With that, Feng Yuan eyed the Patrolman with a conspiratorial hint. The Patrolman, noticing Feng Yuan’s odd look, recalled something amusing and remarked,

"This is indeed our task; how could we let you investigate?"

Qi Chen thought, considering matters linked to Mythical Era relics, Veronia and the others should handle it. However, with Feng Yuan and the group already suggesting so, he couldn’t comment further.

Dou Yanlan surmised why Feng Yuan ignored the issue, recognizing the relic’s long-standing presence; it likely wouldn’t coincidentally surface now. Their judgment being replicas is plausible.

Besides the relics at Tamur in Huer Masha overseas, other places lacked Mythical Era relics; it was a perished era. Having traveled with Feng Yuan extensively, Dou Yanlan understood the terrifying capabilities of Mythical Era relics.

Their proposal likely aims to ensure Great Xia’s comprehensive grasp of the area’s intelligence; thus, direct action isn’t necessary. Otherwise, official personnel would need to reassess.

Though Xiao Ji isn’t fond of the wetland, with Ah Mu present, Xiao Ji managed without hiding in Feng Yuan’s embrace.

The wetland space is ample, allowing Ah Mu to resume his original form. Exclusively possessing abilities of Plant-type Spirit Beast, Ah Mu’s massive figure traversed the wetlands without causing significant environmental damage.

This, however, slowed Ah Mu considerably though Qi Chen perceived Ah Mu’s pleasant mood.

Contrasting Ah Mu, Cotton’s attention fixated on small fish swimming in the nearby trickling streams. Despite being a Spirit Beast, as a Cat-Type Spirit Beast, Cotton retained certain feline traits and habits. Regarding the small fish, Feng Yuan reckoned the resident Wild Spirit Beasts brought them here.

This wetland’s environment, cultivated by the Wild Spirit Beasts resembles a peach blossom land, revealing why the Patrolman’s cabin was established here.

Besides the cave’s Little Rock Wolves, the hillside wetland housed a substantial cluster of Wild Spirit Beasts: fellow water types or those preferring clean water Plant Spirit Beasts abounded. Absent understanding the facts, one might mistaken it for a large Spirit Beast breeding sanctuary.
