Divine Ascension: Reborn as a God of Power-Chapter 45: The Schism of Olympus (Part 5) - New System Update
Chapter 45: The Schism of Olympus (Part 5) - New System Update
The warm breeze of Kaeron caressed my face as I gazed at the sky from the top of the sanctuary built in my honor.
After the news about the very possible war in Olympus that Hermes had given me, let’s just say I wasn’t in a very good mood. I had just come out of one war and now I was going into another, although this one would be nothing like the war in Kaeron. In comparison, the nee war would be like a hurricane compared to the Kaeron War, that for me, ot was more like a pillow fight.
The comparison wasn’t fair.
However, beyond all that, I was worried. I didn’t want anyone to die, but it would be naive to think that I could save everyone. I knew that unless, by some magical means, everyone made peace, that wouldn’t happen, and I was sure that no one wanted to make peace. So I had no choice. I would have to choose a side, and the worst part was that I didn’t even know which side Aegle and the others would choose. Under no circumstances would I let anyone hurt Aegle, so no matter which side she was on, I would protect her no matter what it cost me. I didn’t really care about the consequences my actions would have for Olympus as long as the people I cared about were alive.
I had already lost everything once, and I would never go through that again, not when life had given me a second chance.
However, the question of who to support remained. Although I didn’t like Zeus’ plans at all, Hermes was allied with him, which in itself complicated my decision. But as if that weren’t enough to complicate my choice even further, on the other side, in Nemesis, I was sure that Hesperia was one of them, so my decision was at an impasse.
"What to do? What to do?" I muttered almost silently as I walked around the sanctuary, going round and round in circles.
It was then, when suddenly, the familiar sound of the system notification interrupted my thoughts, so without thinking twice, I opened the notification.
There, a translucent window appeared in front of me, floating in the air as if it had always been there.

I blinked once, then twice.
"Update?" I repeated under my breath, tilting my head.
My eyebrow arched instinctively. Since when did I have... versions? The system had been with me since I woke up in this world, and until now it had never given me even a hint that it had updates. It was strange because even though I felt like it was a part of me, something natural, something alive... it seemed like I never fully understood all of its functions. The only thing I was sure of was that it worked like some kind of RPG system, but the fact that it had updates told me that I had misunderstood it somehow. This was more like an operating system.
Yes, games can be updated, but their interfaces rarely change drastically. What I had, on the other hand, transformed and reconfigured itself. So rather than being a simple support for skills, it was more of an entity that grew, adapted, and perhaps even learned.
And that opened the door to many questions. Questions I wasn’t sure I wanted answers to.
But anyway...
Leaving those questions aside for now, the first thing I did was reach out toward the floating panel. My fingers barely grazed its suspended, warm, ethereal light, but I didn’t quite touch it. So I stopped and stared at it silently.
"What else are you hiding from me...?" I muttered, not expecting an answer.
Maybe I was naive, but I felt like that interface knew more about me than I did.
And I hesitated, I won’t deny it. Part of me wanted to ignore it and leave it for later. But on the other hand, this update could help me with the difficult situation I was going to have to face, so I quickly weighed the pros and cons and realized I didn’t have much choice.
So without saying anything else, I mentally agreed. I just thought about the button, and the system reacted immediately.

"Is it done already?" I asked with a mixture of disbelief and amazement. "That was... immediate."
The panel vanished into thin air as if it had never been there, leaving in its place the new interface, cleaner, more polished... and in the center, remained the prominent number glowing with golden light:
🔥 Power Level > 1310
I blinked once, then twice.
And finally I let out a short, incredulous laugh.
"No way..." I muttered as I squinted my eyes. "Is that some kind of power level?"
Nostalgia hit me hard. I had seen that concept before, long ago and in another life. On a certain fighting shonen anime I was a big fan of as a kid to be specific.
I felt a nostalgic smile spread across my face as I fondly remembered that anime I devoured as a kid. I remembered it with the same intensity as if I had seen it yesterday. The point was that I remembered that in that anime, the characters measured their power with a similar system and with numbers that sometimes skyrocketed to absurd figures.
"What’s next? Some kind of scanner that explodes in my face if I exceed nine thousand?"
I shook my head with a wry smile. But that smile was short-lived.
Because then I realized something more.
This system... wasn’t just a tool. It never was. It was an entity that evolved with me. It adapted, it learned. And now it was showing me something new: that even my own ideas of power were... relative.
"One thousand three hundred and ten..." I repeated under my breath, this time with a different intonation.
I didn’t know yet if this was a lot or a little compared to the gods of Olympus. But it was mine.
A number that condensed my will, my strength, my growth since I came into this world.
And most importantly, it was only the beginning.
My fingers closed into a fist as I felt the energy flow within me.
"I don’t know how many zeros the most powerful gods have..." I whispered, thinking about the time I faced Hades and how absurd his stats were. "But the road is long, so I have all the more reason to keep climbing step by step and version by version like I was already doing.

I stared at the numbers laid out before me, the crisp new interface glowing softly in the dim light. The power level that I had already seen—1,310—felt... grounded. Not overwhelmingly high, but solid. Like the system had already said, this was the sum of my base stats distilled into a single figure, a clear reflection of my raw strength, agility, endurance, willpower, and precision.
I ran my mind over the numbers again, almost tasting the weight of each:
Strength: 1,640
Agility: 1,140
Endurance: 1,320
Willpower: 1,270
Accuracy: 1,180
And analyzing that, I thought I had figured out how the Divine level system worked. It had simply calculated an average of my attributes. Hmm, simple and easy to understand.
The Divine Vitality stats—the HP, energy, experience, and authority—stood apart, vital but not factors in this new measurement. It was as if the system now understood that endurance and stamina, though important, were a different kind of strength from raw potential in battle.
The sleek, simplified layout made everything feel more real and maybe, more immediate.
I clenched my fist, feeling the power simmer beneath my skin.
"Remember, step by step," I repeated softly. "Version by version."
And with that, I prepared to face whatever awaited me next.
