Chapter 221: Enemy founded

First and Casper got into the room where the reunion would happen. Some Sgails were already gathered in that place, which was very similar to the other room where the Princess had planned their previous mission.

They took a sit there, even though some people were finding strange their presence in that place. The White warrior noticed that matter and questioned First about their reactions.

"Ah... Well, we shouldn’t be here, to be honest. Particularly you. I should have been laid in a bed on the infirmary and you were meant to go give your report to Leonel or something. By the way, that’s a meeting where only the high-ranked Sgails can participate."

Casper was about to strangle that man with his own hands. When he appeared all excited a while ago, the soldier thought that the reunion wasn’t something so big and restricted, although the subject would be related to one of the biggest issues of the Castle those days.

He thought that it would be an overall meeting with the people participating in the mission of that new organization and their plans. He was fooled by the charisma of that devilish idiot.

Casper was ready to rip off his head. Seeing his face of anger the injured Sgail put his hands in front of his head, protecting it.

However, before the soldier could turn into a criminal again, more people entered abruptly that place. Both of the intruders looked at each other and decided to go to a corner and wait quietly to see what would happen.

"Crap! I didn’t know that such high people would be here and... hey! It’s Leone--" Casper put his hand on First’s mouth, looking at him with murderous eyes and muttering to him to shut the hell up.

"You are making too much noise you damn idiot!"

Sometimes, the soldier wondered if that man was really the one that taught him so many things. He seemed more like a little annoying brother.

’What will happen in this meeting? I wonder if these idiotic triplets could find something so important to mobilize the entire elite of the Sgails like this.’ He himself was getting very curious about the subject since First didn’t want to tell him because of childish reasons.

’Anyway, there is no way that we can get out of our seats and walk to the door. They would notice us. And now there is a lot of people in this room, so it will be nearly impossible even if we try to sneak to the exit.’

Since they were so cornered, Casper decided to be as discreet as he could and see what course that reunion would go. Depending on the turn of events, they could find a way to leave that place without being caught.

One of the Sgails didn’t take a seat there and kept walking, stopping in front of everyone. Casper did not need to think much to know that, of all the other Sgails, that man was the one on the top. His eyes were the ones of an insightful and wise person. His movements and posture showed that he was a perfectionist and the way he analyzed everything around him let this characteristic even more expressive.

Somehow, that man didn’t exert pressure, nor sovereign. He wasn’t the bossy type. On the contrary, he had a mellow and calm vibe around him.

’He is not the type you would like to mess with, anyway. I can feel that he is a very smart guy...’ Casper felt a drop of sweat go down slowly on his back.

’Somehow, I feel that we are not well hidden from his eyes. Did he see us already?’

The soldier breathed in deeply and released the air slowly.

First was quiet by that time, just looking intently at that man. He wasn’t moving an inch, and due to his widened eyes, the White warrior could guess that they were facing someone important talking.

"Please, pay attention now." His voice echoed through the room. Just as the soldier supposed, it was a calm voice, but severe.

"We are taking this emergency reunion because of some events that took part in a mission we made recently. After our operation to protect and gather information on the Seasonal Meeting succeded, we immediately started to track our enemies using the evidence taken. It was a lightning mission, intending to find and capture them as fast as we could.

"We weren’t expecting much from this mission since everything was planned in a hurry and we didn’t have concrete localizations of where our targets were hiding. However, the Sgails participating in this operation showed amazing acumen and efficiency, catching up with the enemies. Unfortunately, they got caught in a trap, and after a tragic battle, some of our troops died and most of them got seriously hurt."

He made a pause, looking to each one of them, who were dead silent as well. Everyone was paying one minute of silence for those who were dead, but they seemed more proud than sad. Those warriors would be eternally fighting in Valhalla, after all.

"Thanks to the efforts of our Sgails, we could get essential information, and now we are on the tail of our enemies. We already discovered where they are acting, hiding, some of their schemes and..." The eyes of that man, for a brief moment, stopped on Casper and First. "Now we are sure that we can find Rat."

The Sgails there got very agitated with that news, but particularly the White warrior.

"We are finally on a certain way to catch those criminals and end with this situation. It won’t last too much until we are on our final steps. Now, I will decide some important things with you all, so pay attention to what I will show."

Just when everyone was looking intently at the images that appeared on the white wall behind that Sgail, Casper acted quickly and sneaked with First toward the door, getting out without making any noise.

During the course, he didn’t notice but that man doing the speech followed him with his eyes until he left.

’So, that’s the so-called White warrior... He seems to be an interesting type. I should keep an eye on him at some point. Maybe he is worth it.’

He, then, continued the reunion.

...

Casper and First were sitting in the cafeteria, looking at their plates full of a nutritive meal. Actually, just Casper, since the other was eating carefreely, as if he didn’t listen at all what they just heard at the reunion.

"Are you deaf, First?" The soldier asked suddenly, squinting his eyes to the man.

He looked dumbfounded to him, swallowing the food at once and rudely cleaning his mouth with his sleeve.

"What? No way! If I was deaf, I wouldn’t be able to be a Sgail at all. By the way, I heard what they said, but I knew almost everything that guy informed, so I am ok."

Casper was sure that a vein popped up in his forehead. Unfortunately, the cutlery of that cafeteria was just a spoon, and it was made of plastic, otherwise, he would use that thing to kill him.

"If you knew it already, why you didn’t tell me instead of bringing me to that place!?"

"Hmm, well, because I thought it would be a good experience for you to know how these meetings work, and to be acquainted with some high-ranked Sgails..."

The soldier didn’t know whether he was pissed off or impressed by the acumen of First. In the end, he was always thinking about his duty as Casper’s teacher.

The soldier finally started to eat. He was now a bit more relaxed. He knew that get stressed and hurried would just make him feel bad.

After some mouthfuls of his meal, which was not too tasty, he looked again at First and questioned about one more thing that was worrying him.

"Who was that Sgail doing the speech? What is his position here, exactly?"

The childish man looked to Casper as if he already knew that he would ask that question at some point. He finished to chew his food and swallow it, then answered:

"His name is Thor. He is the head of the Sgail’s Headquarters, the leader, the big boss, and whatever you would like to address. He is a guy with the same power and influence among the Royal family as an Aesir, and the only person of the District that refused to become one and, instead, created his own organization."

The soldier was surprised by the feats of that man. No wonder he seemed so powerful and skillful at Casper’s eyes. The guy even refused to be an Aesir.

’Well, I think I was correct in my judgment, then.’

"So... Do you think he saw us?" The White warrior muttered.

First thought about it for a while... then nodded.

"Yes. He totally saw us there." He said, laughing and rubbing his neck.
