Chapter 202: Reunion part 2

The Sgails inside that room looked to each other, then for the Princess. They were expecting that things would turn more or less to that course, they just weren’t sure.

The pictures on the walls were showing all the most troublesome cases in which those criminals were involved. Most of them were in places where a lot of people passed by, always causing a fuss, entering and getting out very quickly, and didn’t let any hints of their real objectives.

The last point was the main problem when trying to find out where that secret organization was staying, what were their patterns and next movements, also their goals. They didn’t show any solid reasons for what they were doing. It was just a bunch of disconnected actions, that made chaos spread around they passed, but just that.

Besides, the organization’s schemes seemed to be very well planned, and a lot of resources were being used, which left no doubts that they weren’t doing it just for show.

Taking it all into consideration, it wasn’t hard to come to the same conclusion as Vick did. They probably would aim for big things, and one big thing that was going to happen at that point was the Seasonal Meeting of Jarls.

"I am sure that the Organization’s attention will be focused on the upcoming event. Because of it, I had been trying to make people comment about it on the streets; Jarls excitedly converse with each other regarding this date. We are also using our dissemination vehicles, like the media, for example, to show to the public the most I can afford to expose about this event." She continued her explanation, always using the image projector to illustrate and reinforce what she was saying.

"The objective here is to trap these criminals once they try to do something to invade the seasonal meeting, and also gather information enough to unmask the betrayers among us. We can kill two birds with one rock this way."

Leonel was the one who raised his hand this time. Until then, he seemed to be analyzing each part of the mansion, both its surroundings and the interior structure. The man was concerned about something.

"Well..." He didn’t even wait for the Princess to allow him to open his mouth. "I know that your plan makes sense and all, but what will we do if that’s really the case? I mean, if they attack the mansion, we will be lost, anyway." The other Sgails around that heard this affirmation began to agree with the man.

"Look, this yard seems to have pretty flowers, but no trees, which means that we can’t hide ourselves in there, which would be the perfect spot by the way. Also, we can’t have a huge amount of Sgails inside, because the citizens would be afraid, and the criminals would get hesitant. Besides, all the place will be filled with Jarls, we can’t have a good amount of troops like this, and it will be hard to defend this many of people without letting a lot of them die..."

That was the first time that Casper felt respect for someone like Leonel. The man was straightforward and very smart when pointing his doubts. Even the Princess got without words for a while.

However, as prepared as she was, Vick had the answer for this.

"First, we won’t be bringing a whole troop there, we will bring just a few a people and they will be encharged to lead all this group of Jarls to safety and hold the Frelsis as much as they can, so the reinforcements will have time to arrive. Also, the less extra people in the house, the less suspect for them. In fact, that’s the only option we got."

The Sgails stayed in deep thought for the time being. They didn’t know what they should do to brush off that plan. Their options were just a few ones, and the only good enough was the one Vick brought up.

That was when Casper broke the silence, starting to talk without even raising his hand. He was reasoning in the meantime, so he was unaware of any etiquette there.

"Well, if we assume that the ’Frelsis’ leading this invasion will really attack or kill the Jarls, then this plan is the only option we got, indeed." Everyone looked towards him. Since he was a newbie, even Leonel, who was the Sgail most acquainted with Casper’s capabilities, got surprised by his initiative.

"But, on these attacks, as far as I know, the people who were injured or dead, weren’t targeted. They were just caught in the middle of the action, generally when the Ridires or Aesirs tried to stop them, right?

The Princess thought for a while but ended agreeing with him.

"So, this Organization doesn’t intend to kill people or cause any harm for anyone who isn’t a warrior of the government. Most likely, if they don’t identify a Sgail on this meeting, they won’t attack either. One option would be to go there disguised, which would make it easy to gather information, and to catch the ’Frelsis’ right when they present a threat."

Once the White warrior brought up that strategy, one by one, the Sgails agreed with him, reinforcing his arguments.

The Princess was expecting that Casper would be a plus to that reunion, and she was right. Just when everyone thought that he would be displaced and unaware of the situation, he showed to be as attentive as everyone else.

The meeting lasted for some more hours. More strategies were brought up, and all the participants tried to add their part to the plan, and give their opinions.

Casper’s suggestion also had its difficulties, so they need to gather all their options and discard them one by one, getting into something that was the ideal.

In the end, what the soldier had said showed to be more viable and, with some modifications and details added, they decided to go with it.

After the meeting, Casper proudly knew that he gained some more prestige among the Sgails, and it would be essential in the future.

"If I keep acting as nice as today, I will surely be reaching my goals faster than I thought." He giggled inside his mind. After so much time just struggling, he needed to shine at some point as well.

Casper was the only one remaining in the room, and the Princess was organizing her things to go do something else. She was in a hurry, which clearly showed that she was having a very busy day and had a lot to accomplish yet.

The White warrior felt sorry for her, and also a bit disappointed. He was looking forward to talking to her for a bit since they were for so long without talking with each other.

He was missing her.

However, even if she had time, Casper wouldn’t be able to say a single word. Whenever he thought about approaching her, he remembered Ana, and he got confused.

Vick even gave a glance a waved happily at him before going out of the room, but Casper couldn’t bring himself to do the same as excitedly as she did.

"Darn... What the hell am I doing...?" He rubbed his face, frustrated.

"C’mon, get up. You need to go to the laboratory today. It’s the last day of the deadline to show your prototype."

Forcing his legs to work properly and dragging his feet outside there, Casper went to prepare himself to go to the laboratory.

...

The soldier was very familiar with pressure, and all the symptoms that came with it. However, it was undeniable that he was feeling anxious there, more than he had felt in that month, even though he passed for a lot of stressful situations.

After passing so many hours working, selling his hours of sleep for more productivity, Casper couldn’t face the sight of his prototype made with this much struggle being denied.

He wasn’t willing to stop to work on that thing either, so it was difficult for him to lose his desk on MMA’s group.

The said person was standing in front of him, giving a critical look at what he was showing to them. There were other reliable scientists rating Casper’s prototype as well.

The other scientists belonging to that group were restless as well. They helped Casper a lot on that work, after all. They shared their own efforts creating that AI and believed that it had potential. The success of that project was, basically, their success as well. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"Well, in short, that’s all the data we could gather, and the programming codes that give ’life’ to this AI. As you can see, the data is almost empty, and the codes are basically made to simulate a human development and learning skill, from baby to adult, almost perfectly, but with higher speed.

"The body is this sphere, with this ’eye’ on the middle. It will float around, and see things at a high distance. Because it’s not too big, we don’t need too much energy to keep it working.

"... The horned Viking helmet is just for design..."

That robot floated in front of MMA and the scientists.

"H-helmet." Was all it could say.

They looked at each other, in silence, their eyes widened.
