Chapter 201: Reunion part 1

The Sgails didn’t contact Casper until 2 days had passed since he got approved on the tests. During this time, the soldier just stayed at home. He didn’t get up from the bed or coach for those two days (except for basic necessities, of course).

After he arrived home, Casper finally felt like resting for some time, but the problem was that his body couldn’t afford to stop that rest during all those days.

He was completely broken after a whole week of training and rehabilitating. His mind was another issue since it was dizzy and distant, and it just came back to normal when he slept for several hours nonstop.

It has been a while since he wasn’t as hungry as on these days, and he almost wiped everything that was on the fridge.

The worst thing on all of that was his muscles, which were more achy than normal. Maybe he got used to the fast recovering that the beds at the Sgail’s Headquarters offered, and now was finding the usual pace of regeneration to be more painful and delayed than never before.

When Casper started to act more freely inside the Castle, he opted to buy his things by himself. The Princess said to him that he just needed to go to a random store and show a paper she gave to him that they would give him everything he wanted to. It was some kind of check, but the Royal Family that paid the bill, not the White warrior.

He tried to not abuse Vick’s goodwill and just bought the necessary, and among it were some very expensive medicine.

Those pills he bought served for a lot of diseases, and he had focused particularly on the ones that could help him with muscle and joint ache. After taking some, Casper was better, but the pain was still there, though lessened.

That time also was useful for Casper to think a bit more about his past, and everything he did until now. He was trying to find a way to overcome his traumas and don’t let them take control anymore.

Those scars that the final days of his military career left on him, were the most limiting thing he had. It always disturbed him at night and made him insecure about protect his friends and do the right thing when leading.

Casper needed all of it at that moment. If he wanted to change something he must have become a good leader, and if he wanted to last forever beside the nice people he knew, he must have prepared himself to protect them.

He wondered how he could be able to do all of that, and he concluded that something or someone needed to make him get real. He needed to experience something new that would overcome all his past traumas and would show him another perspective.

It was something very subjective, but his best conclusion as well.

After his second day of laziness, there was a call on his phone, and once he saw the name of the Princess popping up on the screen, he knew that it was related to the mission.

"Hello, Vick?"

"Hi, White warrior. I need that you move to the Sgail’s Headquarters. It’s about time to start everything. Got it?"

Casper answered her briefly, then turned off the phone, jumping from the coach and going to change clothes and organize the things he would be bringing with him. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

After 2 whole days of nothing to do, just stay on the couch with a huge pain on his arms and legs, the soldier was excited to see what was waiting for him on the first mission he would be doing.

He headed directly to the last floor of the Castle, doing the same steps as Leonel and the Princess did. The soldier could even take the number of the person taking care of that disabled teleporting pad that was there, so he didn’t need someone helping him to get into the Headquarters.

It didn’t last too long, he was quick and straightforward in the way until there, and in no time he was already facing the dark facade of that place he needed to stay for a whole week before.

He approached the door and saw that they left it open to him. After he entered, he made sure to close it. Nobody knows when the attack will come, after all.

Casper was more acquainted with the Headquarters, so he knew the path until the room they probably were going to use to make that meeting to discuss the mission. It was impossible that he wouldn’t know since he passed one week there.

Once he got in the right door, he knocked there and waited for them to answer his call, or then open the door for him.

"You can enter already, Casper." He heard the voice of Vick coming out of that place, and he needed to admit that his heart throbbed, but not because of attraction or something like this, but because he now was fearing to enter into that place.

For that whole week and two days, the White warrior didn’t saw the Princess even a single time. He was completely private from the outside world before after all, and those two days he didn’t put his feet on the street.

"I saw Ana’s face again... After so long trying to forget, now I have the memory fresh on my mind. If I see Vick’s hair, eyes, posture, body... I will remember her even more, I will remember that day over and over..." He stayed waiting for some time, but he couldn’t recede there.

Slowly he opened the door and saw a bunch of Sgails sitting around a table, with an image projector showing something on the white wall of that room. Vick was standing beside the image and looking at the entrance, waiting for Casper to enter.

As the soldier predicted, at the sight of Vick’s figure, his mind started to go wild and he barely could push himself to walk into the room and take an aleatory seat.

Everyone there made a strange silence, probably thinking why that unmasked man was acting all stiff and strange. It was already a rare sight to see someone without a mask, but act with such peculiarity turned the situation even more uncomfortable.

"Ok, pay attention here again, please." Vick had a stick on her hand and she hit the wall on the part where the image was being projected, drawing the attention of all people there.

"It’s good that the White warrior arrived now. Since all the other parts of the plan were already discussed, we will be able to talk about the next part, and it will involve him."

She changed the image on the projector, showing now the scheme of a mansion with five floors, and seeming to be pretty big regarding its dimensions as well.

Casper got curious about what that mansion had to do with his mission, though he had a vague idea.

"This mansion is the place where the seasonal meeting of the most prestigious families among the Jarls will be made. It’s a pretty big place, with a lot of different rooms, a total of five floors, except the attic, and a huge yard rounding the structure.

"This is a mere social event, and there is nothing suspicious about it, but we can get a lot of information about what is happening nowadays among the Jarls, their schemes, corruptions, objectives... And, most important, we can know if one of these families is taking part in the recent crimes committed inside the Castle."

The Princess kept changing the image, to show with more details the mansion interior.

She showed the plan of the mansion as a whole, then of each floor individually, and now was specifying each room.

Casper was looking at it attentively and trying to memorize all of that beforehand, without losing his concentration because of Vick’s presence.

One of the Sgails raised his hand, and Vick allowed him to say something.

"I am wondering... what more? You wouldn’t be calling all of us, nor that newbie unmasked guy if it wasn’t something more important. I mean, a huge meeting between the most prestigious and influential Jarls seems to be an information jackpot. However, I don’t think it is worthy of all this scandal." That guy seemed to be really bold to talk with the Princess in that way.

She obviously got pissed off but didn’t show it.

"You are right, though, if you had maintained your mouth shut, I would get into this point soon. But, well, there is an ulterior motive as to why we are aiming to this meeting..."

The Princess changed the image again, now to pictures taken of each locality where the criminals causing that fuss on the Castle were before.

"As you can see in these pictures, the criminals are aiming to public and influent places to act... Which means that, most likely, they will aim to invade this meeting."
