Dimensional Slime Rancher-Chapter 13: How dare this idiot make fun of me!
"How fucking audacious!" Zhao Feng’s pupils constricted as his hand slammed onto the wooden table. He angrily shouted, his aristocratic face twisting in pure rage.
The table violently trembled, startling everyone present in the VIP section of the lobby. Still, they all felt that this scarred Beast Tamer was being insanely arrogant.
Who was the Minister of Revenue? As one of the most important officials within the imperial city, his status and wealth were practically unrivaled.
However, this stranger’s tone was filled with absolute, unfiltered contempt toward the Zhao Clan.
It was uncertain whether he was really that confident in his own power or was just deliberately seeking death.
Zhao Feng’s eyes lit up with killing intent as his aura rapidly expanded.
The stream of Wind Qi was like countless invisible blades swirling around his silk robes as he swiftly gathered his true energy, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword.
"You’re too damn noisy. If you’re here in Boss Ren’s shop, then you should be quietly spending your father’s money. If you want to fight, take it outside,"
Gu Tian indifferently said. He did not care about the swirling Wind Qi gathering around Zhao Feng in the slightest.
As the scarred man finished speaking, he simply raised his hand, his thumb and middle finger pressed together as if he was about to flick away an annoying fly.
Buzz!
The Three Bears of Ouyang, who were sitting at a nearby table, immediately moved in front of Xiaoyi like a living wall of meat.
Their hairs were standing on end as they gravely looked toward the Beast Tamer.
Luo Qing’s icy pupils constricted as well, and she subconsciously gathered the freezing true energy within her meridians, her hand resting lightly on her scabbard.
With a casual flick of Gu Tian’s finger, a stream of heavy, blood-red energy swiftly burst through the air.
Zhao Feng’s body froze for a split second, and then the impressive Wind Qi that surrounded him started shriveling up and popping like a deflated balloon.
With a choked groan, Zhao Feng fell face-forward onto the floor...
Zhao Feng went into a complete daze as his entire body shivered violently, his pale lips trembling. It was too terrifying... Within that single instant, Zhao Feng genuinely thought his head was going to be separated from his shoulders!
A tiny, stinging red dot instantly appeared in the direct center of his forehead, a single drop of blood trailing down his nose.
"If we weren’t standing inside Boss Ren’s shop right now, your father would be collecting your corpse in a bucket,"
Gu Tian indifferently said as he slowly retracted his hand, falling completely silent.
The mood within the shop instantly became freezing cold, and everyone held their breath.
Zhao Feng had a remarkably unsightly, humiliated expression on his face as he shakily climbed up from the floor.
He wiped the drop of blood from his forehead, then miserably returned to his seat and quietly sat down, not daring to make another sound.
The Three Bears of Ouyang were pulling Xiaoyi away to a safe distance behind the counter.
From the sheer, effortless terror of the mysterious man’s casual attack, they could tell that he was at least a peak Core Formation expert.
However, that was still a very conservative estimate. After all, Zhao Feng was a Foundation Establishment cultivator.
Even an ordinary Core Formation master would have some difficulty instantly shattering his aura with a mere finger flick.
Which meant that this scarred Beast Tamer might be a Nascent Soul monster!
As the awkward, suffocating mood within the store seemed to stretch on forever, a rich, mechanical hum mixed with a burst of crisp, elemental fragrance drifted out from the Workshop.
"The Cloud-Compressor is ready," Ren’s lazy, indifferent voice sounded out from the back room. He walked out holding a sleek, silver metallic collar that appeared to be radiating a faint, purifying blue brilliance.
Xiaoyi eagerly walked over to take the item from him, sticking her tongue out at the trembling Zhao Feng.
The crisp, ozone-like fragrance filled with pure spiritual energy seemed to instantly disperse much of the bloody, oppressive atmosphere within the store.
The clean smell, which was like a cool autumn breeze gliding across their faces, made the tense cultivators feel as if their racing hearts were being gently soothed.
"It smells so pure!" As Zhao Feng sniffed the ambient energy radiating from the gadget, he felt as if the swelling, terrifying pain in his chest had mostly receded.
Luo Lan cheerfully received his bag of Fuzzball Kibble, holding a handful of the crackling treats and feeding them to his hidden pet.
Zhao Feng swallowed a heavy mouthful of saliva.
He had never purchased one of Ren’s mechanical enhancement tools before, but his meridians were practically humming just from sensing the purity of the runes etched into the metal collar.
Luo Lan was feeding his Fuzzball so messily that there were even glowing crumbs falling onto his lap. When he felt a gaze filled with burning envy, he immediately grinned at Zhao Feng and asked, "Do you want to see how much stronger my rat got?"
Zhao Feng glared at him and subtly looked away, his pride still stinging.
"If you want to see it, then stop picking fights and buy your own upgrades." Luo Lan stuck his tongue out and teasingly laughed.
Zhao Feng immediately froze, and his eyes were filled with fresh anger as he thought, "How dare this idiot make fun of me!"
"The Basic Hydro Slimes are ready," Ren’s indifferent voice sounded out once more.
Subsequently, three glass jars containing perfectly round, vibrating blue slimes were collected by Xiaoyi and placed in front of the Three Bears.
The exceptionally pure Hydro Slimes were as delicate as living artwork and so dense with water Qi that they were practically radiating a cooling blue mist.
As Ouyang Zhen popped the lid off his jar, the purifying moisture seeped out and instantly released a captivating, deeply refreshing chill into the room.
Before the mist could dissipate, Ouyang Zhen eagerly shoved his thick finger into the jelly.
His rugged face immediately relaxed into a goofy, blissful smile as a layer of frost comfortably coated his arm, suppressing his fiery cultivation backlash.
Zhao Feng’s eyes were almost completely mystified at this point.
The sheer quality of the goods in this tiny shop was undeniably a feast for the senses.
After that, Ren finally walked out with the last two items.
He placed a jar containing a Basic Hydro Slime and the heavy, lead-lined pouch on the counter. When he entered the main lobby, he was slightly startled to see the heavy, bloody tension, but he ignored it.
"Here is your Slime and your Searing Mana Cube," Ren expressionlessly said to Gu Tian.
"From the looks of it... the purity is flawless," Gu Tian thought to himself, his scarred eyes lighting up.
"I didn’t realize that other than boasting, this shopkeeper actually had the skills to back it up."
"And here is your Cloud-Compressor," Ren said, placing the silver collar in front of Zhao Feng.
When the sleek, humming gadget appeared in front of Zhao Feng, he was completely stunned. Just from touching the cold metal, he involuntarily gasped.
It was too perfect! Furthermore, the compressed wind arrays etched into the collar were teasing his Wind-attribute meridians to the point of losing his self-control.
As he eagerly clamped the collar around his own wrist to test the flow, a burst of refined, concentrated Wind Qi instantly shot through his arm.
The rich flavor of the elemental energy violently surged and enveloped his pathways, sweeping away impurities.
The energy was still slightly raw, and he could not help but pant heavily as his body adjusted to the massive upgrade.
The rich hum of the compressed wind immediately echoed through the entire store.
Even Luo Lan stopped playing with his Fuzzball, and Luo Qing looked toward Zhao Feng in surprise... The craftsmanship was truly too profound!
Zhao Feng was so happy that he almost shed tears of relief. It was incredibly potent. He felt that the five hundred Spirit Stones were the best investment he had ever made in his entire privileged life!
He rapidly cycled his Qi, his face flushed with excitement as Xiaoyi enviously watched. He was panting heavily as he absorbed the refined wind.
At that moment, Gu Tian’s hoarse voice sounded out.
"Shopkeeper... Is your little fiery cube really better than... the Beast Tamer Sect’s Tyrant’s Brew?"
Zhao Feng asked doubtfully while panting, desperately trying to cling to his earlier wager to save face.
"I already said... That whatever ’Tyrant’s Brew’ you brought is nothing but dirty bathwater. You just have to watch what happens next, and you’ll know," Ren simply said, leaning against the counter.
Gu Tian’s hoarse, grinding voice echoed out as well.
"How is our mass-produced Tyrant’s Brew even comparable to this shopkeeper’s custom Searing Mana Cube? The raw elemental density in this pouch is terrifying."
After the Beast Tamer finished speaking, he unsealed the lead-lined pouch and dropped the glowing, golden-crimson cube directly into the jar with the blue slime.
Within that instant, a violent, mellow, and impossibly rich wave of extreme heat mixed with ocean-like humidity drifted into the air and forcefully engulfed the entire store.
The aura of the mutating slime was extraordinarily concentrated.
It completely, utterly dispersed the aggressive scent of the Tyrant’s Brew sitting on Zhao Feng’s table, subjugating everyone’s senses in the area.
A captivating redness appeared on both the fair faces of Xiaoyi and Luo Qing as the room temperature spiked.
Just from comparing the sheer elemental pressure, the Beast Tamer Sect’s famous wine had already lost by a landslide.
As for the actual combat potential... the Three Bears of Ouyang and Luo Lan were already holding their breaths, eager to witness the explosive birth of a new monster.
