Chapter 704: Plans

But what Max didn’t realize—what he couldn’t have possibly known—was that his fame already spread wide and far in the entire Middle Domain. From the peak powers of the Seven Overlord Forces to the secretive courts of the Four God Nations... from wandering cultivators and ancient reclusive families to academy halls and throne rooms—the name White Death had already spread like wildfire.

In mere hours, stories were retold, recordings were replayed, analysis was done by elders and force masters alike. A masked figure, 1st level of Master Rank, defeating ten Champion Rank 2-star geniuses and old monsters, including some who were considered invincible in their realms.

Defeating them not through tricks or narrow wins—but by crushing them. Effortlessly. Coldly. Without even a pause. The footage of him catching Anya’s divine slash with two fingers and reducing her to red particles with a single punch had already been played across hundreds of regions.

Unknowingly, Max had just shaken the foundation of the Middle Domain. And while he walked away from the Battle Hall in silence... the world was screaming his name. White Death.

’I don’t believe the Black Lotus Guild would refuse to contact me after that,’ Max mused silently as he walked away from the Battle Hall, his footsteps calm.

Every move he had made inside the Battle Realm—the overpowering defeats, the black flames, the dragon scales and most importantly the inheritances of the black flames—hadn’t been for glory, pride, or to crush the confidence of the so-called geniuses.

No, it had all been done with a singular purpose—to draw the eyes of the Black Lotus Guild. A force that had once struck fear into the hearts of the Middle Domain, now reduced to whispers and shadows. But Max hadn’t forgotten them. He wanted them. Needed them.

One of his goals in the Middle Domain was to have a force he could trust without doubt. A force not corrupted by politics or greed, but bound by blood, loyalty, and secrecy. And that was where the Black Lotus Guild came in.

Though they were currently in decline, buried by years of stagnation and hunted by many factions, Max believed otherwise. He believed they were only sleeping. If he could awaken them—evolve their bloodline by even one rank—he was certain they could rise again and rival even the Seven Overlord Forces.

He could have taken a different path. He could have removed the mask, revealed his face to the world, let his sister and everyone else know he was in the Middle Domain. He could’ve soaked in the attention, let the world kneel before his strength.

But Max wasn’t a fool. He knew better. Publicity brought danger. Let alone whether this stunt would even be enough to alert his sister, it would certainly alert others. Powerful forces. Rival empires. Enemies watching from the shadows.

If he showed himself, if his real identity was exposed, then his strength would be laid bare for the entire cultivation world to dissect. And while he believed the Great Ruler Empire was currently one of the safer places he could be in, that safety wasn’t absolute. No fortress was truly invincible.

He would become a beacon of calamity. A walking target. Assassins, force envoys, greedy power-hungry families—they would come. That much was guaranteed. So he played it smart. Masked. Hidden. His name unknown, his power unforgettable.

And now... it was only a matter of time before the Black Lotus Guild took notice. Because after what he had done, even the dead would have stirred.

Max walked calmly through the sprawling grounds of the Great Ruler Empire, the soft hum of high-grade formations pulsing faintly beneath his feet, the towering structures of the empire standing proud against the sky.

With a quick tap on his holowatch, a digital interface blinked into existence before his eyes. His gaze swept over the updated information, and the corner of his mouth lifted slightly.

His status had officially been updated—2-star genius.

’Good!’ he thought, eyes narrowing with quiet satisfaction. That was the result of all the chaos he had just unleashed inside the Battle Realm. Wasting no time, he turned and made his way directly toward the 2-star sector. That place... was his home now.

As he entered the 2-star sector, the difference was immediately clear. It was significantly larger than the 1-star sector—not just in size, but in grandeur. The compounds here were more refined, more spacious, and protected by higher-level formations.

Each house looked like a fortress in itself, reserved only for those who had proven their worth and potential. And Max, even if hidden behind the name White Death, had more than earned his place here.

Upon reaching his assigned residence, he scanned his holowatch over the gate’s formation. A soft chime rang out as the barriers faded, and the door opened with a quiet hiss. He stepped inside, shut the door behind him, and locked it tightly.

The moment he entered, he didn’t even pause to rest. He walked straight to the innermost room and entered the training chamber. Max sat cross legged and the next moment, he stood within his Dimension of Time.

Max already had a plan laid out in his mind. Now that he had made his mark, he would soon leave the safety of the Great Ruler Empire to carry out missions.

Every completed mission would earn him PQ—Premordial Quartz—currency used within the empire to exchange for rare resources. His primary target: mana stones, the fuel for his strength. That was the next step in his evolution. While others couldn’t devour mana stones, Max welcomed them with big hands. That was why he was focusing on doing missions for the empire.

But before setting out on any task or mission, Max wanted to polish his strength further. He would dive deep into the Sky Shattering Invincible Sword Art, refining its comprehension and execution until it could contend with even higher realms.

And more importantly, he intended to try his hand at the Storm King Inheritance within the Floor of Inheritance in his Dimension of Lightning once again. He believed with his current strength he should be able to defeat the soul fragment of the Storm King and get his inheritance.
