Dimensional Hotel-Chapter 552: Soaring Into the Sky...
Yun Qingzi clasped his hands behind his back, resembling an ordinary kindergarten gatekeeper as he leisurely greeted Mo Ran, then smiled as he circled around the "troop" Mo Ran brought, finally stopping beside the three "evil cultivators" in the middle of the team, giving them a once-over.
"The three of you seem a bit unfamiliar... not quite like people of the righteous path."
The dry face of the Withered Court Elder was no longer stiff, the graceful demeanor of the Blood Young Master was no longer held high, and the pristine expression originally displayed by the Bone-devouring Immortal now became truly clear, as if filtered through a twelfth-level filter. The three of them bowed in unison and saluted, with the Blood Young Master speaking first: "S-senior jests, we have indeed made mistakes before, but have long since abandoned the dark for the light and corrected our ways, now wholeheartedly pursuing righteousness, willing to go through fire and water for the True Monarch without hesitating to sacrifice ten thousand lives..."
Yun Qingzi nodded: "Alright then, there’s a fight going on outside now, later you can join the old man in going through fire and water."
The iron mask of the Bone-devouring Immortal suddenly creaked, and the face outside the mask twisted.
The smile on the Withered Court Elder’s face also stiffened for a moment. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Yun Qingzi simply cast a light glance at the Blood Young Master and tossed over a comment, without much interest: "Like a sissy."
Afterward, he ignored the three and turned directly to Mo Ran: "Mr. Yu has not returned, but he mentioned to handle things entrusted to you before he left. How is the task going?"
Mo Ran dared not delay and hurriedly ordered his retainers to place several boxes on the ground, opening them for Yun Qingzi to inspect.
Inside the boxes were several newly completed "weapons" from the Mechanical Pavilion, vastly different in style from typical items of the Feiyu Star Domain.
They were all made according to Yu Sheng’s specifications and design sketches.
Mo Ran first picked up a device resembling an armguard—its exterior was sleek, with a shell made of an unknown silver-grey metal embedded with tiny crystal stones, and blood-colored lines arranged along the armguard’s contours. There was a concealed launch port at the front, and the internal structure fitting against the body seemed to also hide delicate mechanical systems.
"This is the Blood Needle Hand Armor, also referred to by Yu Sheng True Monarch as the ’Blood Needle Launcher,’ usable only by True Monarchs—once worn, no extra ’ammunition’ is needed; the hand armor will automatically draw blood from the wearer’s body, condensing it into inch-long needles, with a range of two hundred meters, containing a simple artifact spirit that, once familiarized, assists in aiming, and the blood needle itself is driven by spiritual power to track targets within a certain range."
Yun Qingzi nodded: "Hmm, quite thorough consideration, but since Mr. Yu can’t return for now, let’s set this aside for now—what else?"
"In this box, is the first batch of blood grenades," Mo Ran took out a palm-sized item from the second box, also featuring a silver-grey shell, its surface engraved with intricate red symbols, a cylindrical shape with a safety device and a pressable triggering mechanism, "this is unrestricted for users, once activated, throw it, it detonates in five seconds, the blood droplets at the core instantly vaporize, covering a range of over ten meters, undispersed by wind for ten breaths, seeking out living beings to penetrate first."
"This is nice, this will come in handy," Yun Qingzi said with satisfaction, turning to instruct a few youths present, "Call up some puppets, distribute these items to those fighting outside, let those ’shadows’ infiltrating the city see some blood, it might be beneficial to Mr. Yu’s activities there."
Then, everyone’s attention was drawn to the final device Mo Ran brought.
It wasn’t a conventional "weapon," but a piece of equipment standing over half a person tall—it hadn’t even been packed in a box but placed directly on the ground.
The circular metal base was covered with various sized pipes, all surrounding a silver container tank, with a complexly structured "lid" atop it, embedded with dark red glowing cylindrical crystal stones, whose purpose was unclear.
"This is the ’diffusion device’ requested by the True Monarch; due to time constraints, it’s somewhat crude," Mo Ran explained, "partially referring to Algerde technology, it requires no spiritual power to use, once triggered, it continuously releases the blood mist from the tank, more corrosive and efficient than direct ’bloodstaining,’ and penetrates within a hundred meters without obstacle.
"Additionally, since I was once ’blood-transferred’ by the True Monarch, I tested using myself, within the range of the diffusion device, those marked by ’blood transfer’ continuously receive nourishment, increasing their strength by one or two percent, also making them highly resistant to any illusions or mental pollution. I haven’t conducted extreme tests, but theoretically... even going into demon possession or having one’s primordial spirit being corrupted can be pulled back."
"Meeting something more wicked makes wickedness itself appear normal, essentially healing by attacking poison with poison, using demon fragmentation to treat indigestion..." the Bone-devouring Immortal muttered quietly.
Yun Qingzi didn’t mind the murmurs, having already nodded in satisfaction after listening to Mo Ran’s explanation: "This is even more useful, later take it outside to place at the main gate—does this have any drawbacks?"
"Still somewhat unstable, the blood mist interferes slightly with the container itself, requiring someone to monitor and adjust it constantly beside it," Mo Ran said, gesturing to the three evil cultivators standing behind him, "So I brought these three along, they crafted this ’diffusion device,’ and it’s perfect for them to gather more on-site data, aiding improvements upon return."
Yun Qingzi nodded slightly, then turned, smiling indulgently at the three Withered Court Elder members.
"Now that handover is complete, let’s accompany the old man outside—a child can’t always be sent to fight."
The three evil cultivators exchanged glances, finally displaying expressions determined to go through fire and water without hesitation.
Mo Ran also stepped forward: "I have brought a few trusted master experts, all able to assist in battle!"
Yun Qingzi casually tucked the feather duster into his waistband and waved with a grin, "Alright, let’s go together."
Moments later, the group, carrying that "diffusion device," arrived at the square of Fairy Tale Town, stepping through the gate and into the fog-filled Boundary City.
Just outside, they were greeted by the thunderous detonations in their ears, distant artillery wailing, smoke rising, and an old-fashioned fighter jet soaring overhead, screaming like a banshee as it dropped aerial bombs on the neighboring district.
The serene and peaceful valley was separated by a single door from a smoke-covered warzone. The sharp contrast in environment even left the Withered Court Elder stunned for half a second. Then he looked up to see a Thunder Giant striding through the thick fog, swinging a Giant Snake Demon in its hand, lashing at a mass of viscous shadow falling from the sky.
Countless shadow wolf packs dashed and bit across the entire street, terrifying evil demons endlessly plummeting from the sky into the fog. The Titan wielded the giant snake, summoning thunder, while overhead fighter jets screamed. A giant beanstalk rose from the end of the street, with entangling vines curling like eerie monster plants, and living thorns were crazily sprouting from the gaps in the buildings.
The epitome of chaos, the epitome of grotesqueness.
Despite being evil cultivators all their lives and having seen more disgusting and cruel scenes than this, they had never seen anything so completely messed up. Blood Young Master’s eyes were fixed straight ahead, and after holding it in for a long time, he couldn’t help but mutter quietly to the Bone-devouring Immortal beside him, "...Which side is ours?"
"I don’t know!" the Bone-devouring Immortal murmured, "I can’t even make out how many ’sides’ there are!"
"Do you guys think there’s a possibility," Blood Young Master looked around, his face strangely whispering, "that the three of us actually belong to the upright and honest sects..."
Meanwhile, Luo, who was protecting the teleportation gate area with Little Red Riding Hood, looked up and spotted several figures emerging from the gate. He quickly pointed, "Hey, hey, hey! More people are coming!"
Little Red Riding Hood turned her head and her eyes lit up, "Ah, Mr. Yun is here!"
"That old man you mentioned earlier is Mr. Yun—no way, he’s the security guard from the orphanage?!" Luo was completely shocked, "And what’s with the feather duster in his waistband...?"
She hadn’t finished her sentence when she saw the security guard casually toss the feather duster aside—sword light sliced through the fog, briefly clearing the world.
Yun Qingzi lifted his head, seemed a bit surprised as he glanced in the direction of the Council Tower, then smiled knowingly and swung his sleeve.
Luo then saw the opposite security guard transform into a hundred-meter-tall embodiment in the air...
As Snake Princess, spinning like a windmill in the air, saw this scene, she exclaimed "Wow!"—by this time, she had been swung around countless times by the Titan Giant, hair disheveled across her face, but the initial shock and anger had vanished. Instead, her face bore a slightly... mad and excited smile, as if the repressed demon nature could finally be unleashed, finally able to indulge in chaos. Soon, she began cheering with excitement again.
Standing in mid-air, Yun Qingzi’s embodiment raised its hand as if greeting someone, nodding slightly towards the "World Bridge" that was continually extending downward from above the Council Tower.
"Girl over there, go ahead with peace of mind; this city is under my protection—"
Thunder rolled across the sky, Yun Qingzi’s voice mingled with the thunder, rumbling across the heavens.
Near the Council Tower, within a distorted light screen, Baili Qing raised her head, gazing at the "World Bridge" that had already extended into the Big Shield.
The shattered, inverted Broken Tower was reflected in her eyes, the tower top riddled with numerous cracks like a giant mouth lined with jagged teeth. In the depths of darkness, illusions from distant times flickered and writhed.
The thunder boomed through the sky, and Baili Qing listened and then gently nodded.
Baili Xue’s voice simultaneously resonated in her mind, "Sister, the internal battle lines have stabilized for now, and the contamination zone is shrinking..."
Baili Qing gently inhaled, slowly closing her eyes.
The breeze brushed through her ashen hair, over her cheeks and forehead—across both her wings and claws, over the skin swiftly being covered in a layer of crystal scales.
Baili Qing opened her eyes, the pale gray vertical pupils reflecting the entrance to the Broken Tower. Her body transformed within the light screen, scales rapidly covering her entire form, and crystal-like massive wings rose to the sky. With a flap, countless chaotic lights and shadows seemed to shatter and reshape under the dragon wings.
The next second, the pale giant dragon, coated in crystal scales, lifted its head and surged toward the sky.
