Chapter 550: Chapter 550: Fairy Tales Frontline

As Luo gradually regained consciousness amidst a bout of dizziness, her mind was still muddled, unsure of her surroundings. After some time, she barely managed to gather her thoughts and found herself lying in an open area resembling a small square.

Bright daylight, fresh air, and in her line of sight, she saw many... oddly shaped houses, with the sound of wind and some noise possibly coming from a construction site in the distance, while nearby there were chattering sounds.

Her head spun again, and then she saw two children squatting beside her, curiously observing her with wide eyes. Several red-eyed imps (clones of the evil imps) stood near her head, staring at her with scary and evil dead fish eyes (as Luo perceived them).

Luo jolted fully awake and instantly flipped up: "Ah!"

The children around her exclaimed in surprise, with some, who looked no older than elementary school students, starting to clap excitedly. A few older kids approached, including a tall girl with cascading blonde hair that even touched the ground, exclaiming to her companion with glee, "See, I told you we didn’t need to pour cold water! What Brother Yu threw over must be quite hardy..."

Someone nearby retorted, "Is that not needing to pour water? You just didn’t have time to pour it! Don’t think I didn’t notice you hiding the water bottle in your hair just now..." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Where am I?" Luo shook her head vigorously, looking bewildered at her surroundings.

It was her first time seeing such a bizarre human settlement. The houses around the small square were so oddly shaped it was like something out of a picture book. The treehouses, castles, and magical cottages made sense, but the towering cat climbing structure was beyond her understanding. More peculiar was the faint sight of a huge ancient pyramid-like structure in the distance, a juxtaposition of earthy, mysterious, rugged, and grandeur styles. The surrounding lineup of variously sized toilets added to the confusion...

Luo gazed farther out and shockingly saw a towering vine in the sky—it didn’t seem to need support and could climb that high as if the clouds were its scaffolding.

The scene in another direction was even more absurd—a spaceport.

A large battleship, clearly in the style of the Venerate Saints Monastery, was docked at the high platform, disguising itself as a force for justice with its repainted bow.

... Could this really be Boundary Land?

Luo instinctively shrank back, unsure if she was in a safe zone or had been kidnapped to some lair. Though surrounded by seemingly harmless human children, she felt an inherent sense of crisis emanating from the chaotic scenery that was almost an assault on her eyes.

At that moment, a seemingly steady and friendly person finally approached—a girl in a red coat.

"This is ’Fairy Tale’ Town. I’m the person in charge here, you can call me Little Red Riding Hood," said Little Red Riding Hood, looking at the elf in front of her. "If you’re talking about this valley... it’s the base of the ’Travel Agency.’ Did Yu Sheng send you here? He didn’t inform us."

Luo blinked, feeling reassured—oh, indeed, she’d been brought to a new lair.

"...My name is Luo," she said, patting her now wrinkled and dirty silver-white dress, all disheveled from the journey. Though unsure why there were so many human children here, given the presence of a bunch of dangerous red-eyed imps, she maintained utmost courtesy, "I’m a science advisor collaborating with Yu Sheng..."

Before she could finish, a mass-produced puppet closest to Little Red Riding Hood suddenly blinked, its dead fish eyes swirling with a gleam as Erin went online: "She’s a Black Spot Warlord, but we captured her. Now she’s temporarily helping us, half considered one of our own."

"A Black Spot Warlord?!" Little Red Riding Hood’s expression visibly changed, and her gaze towards Luo became wary. Noticing this, Luo hurried to explain, but before she could utter a word, seven or eight snarling Shadow Giant Wolves suddenly appeared around her.

And the blonde girl who had been silently watching with amusement conjured a Golden Giant Scythe in a blink, her previously harmless gaze now bloodthirsty and chilling, filled with the menace of tearing demons apart for a decade in some cursed land...

"I said I’m half one of your own!" Luo’s hair stood on end, her long pointed ears pinned to her head in panic, "We’ve already fought! Already fought before I came!"

Changfa paused, looking at Little Red Riding Hood while carrying the giant scythe: "...Is this what a Black Spot Warlord looks like?"

Little Red Riding Hood: "I don’t know, it’s my first time seeing one."

"I said I’m a scientist!" Luo was near hysterics, "Can any of you in Boundary Land listen to people?!"

Little Red Riding Hood frowned, but as she was about to say something, the door standing in the plaza was activated again, and a girl in crystal dancing shoes and lavish royal attire rushed in. As her royal attire swiftly changed to casual wear, she hurriedly reported to Little Red Riding Hood about the nearby district:

"There’s a big hole in the old district! That tower from the sky ripped open the shields from the city center to the old district! Around the old orphanage, there’s fog and shadows—I saw several groups of self-organized Spirit Realm detectives trapped on Taian Road from above!"

Little Red Riding Hood’s expression shifted slightly: "Taian Road? Is ’Belle’ nearby?!"

"Yes, but don’t worry, she’s only slightly injured, then she got picked up by one of Dorothy’s armored squads," Cinderella said swiftly, "Dorothy set up a medical camp nearby, and they have excellent pediatricians there..."

"Alright, take a break first. Snow White and I will go check the situation outside." Little Red Riding Hood nodded, then suddenly turned her gaze towards Luo.

Luo only then belatedly noticed the tense atmosphere around, as well as the orderly coming and going of personnel near that "door."

This square, gathering a bunch of teenagers and young children... has surprisingly become a command headquarters at the rear of the battlefield.

"There’s a battle going on outside," Little Red Riding Hood stared at the "dangerous extremist" before her, "Brother Yu has gone to deal with that tower, Erin wants us to handle the monsters running into the city before the incident ends—I’m going to lead the team now, you must stay with us."

Luo was stunned, realizing that most of the kids who seemed not even of age were indeed the combat force under the name of the "travel agency," she was completely dumbfounded: "...A group of kids fighting in the city?! No, what’s wrong with you people from Boundary Land... Isn’t this kinda extreme?!"

The long-haired princess glared, "Well, aren’t you Black Spot people extremists too?"

"Not this extreme!" Luo looked shocked, "In human age terms, we only start dabbling in Black Spirit Ability after eighteen..."

This time, it was the long-haired princess’ turn to be utterly shocked.

Heard about it before, but there’s indeed a place in the world where people are allowed to legally play with Black Spirit Ability.

Truly extreme...

But Little Red Riding Hood didn’t give Luo and the long-haired princess further opportunities to argue.

She quickly briefed the situation on-site, confirmed the situation at the World Bridge with Erin, then directly grabbed Luo’s arm, dragging her out towards that door.

Luo felt as if she was being dragged by a giant beast, the strength felt like a vise grip on her wrist. Though her body was strengthened and modified, which far surpassed ordinary people (even if not at warrior level), she found it difficult to resist the seemingly slender arm strength of the girl in red, stumbling several steps unexpectedly: "Wait... why?!"

"Erin said you’re only half one of us, I don’t feel comfortable leaving you out of sight," Little Red Riding Hood said without looking back, "And I heard that, ultimately, this mess was caused by you Black Dot Group guys, you should clean up your own mess."

The Snow White walking beside them chimed in, "Exactly, and you’re called Black Spot Warlord, so you must be skilled in fighting. I heard your Black Spot Group warriors are elite, packed with black tech, we definitely need more fighters now..."

"I’ve said it many times, I’m just a scientist," Luo was on the verge of tears, "I don’t have their kind of power..."

But no one listened to her.

In a blink, she was dragged out the door by Little Red Riding Hood—vast swathes of mist surged forth.

The large door on the Fairy Tale Town square connected to the "ruins" of the old orphanage, located deep in the old city area, and evidently, this region had already been affected by the Spiritual Fox system, with Mist City flipping and replacing the original real space.

The ordinary people in the district were unconsciously hiding in shelters under the influence of the Requiem system, and as the whole area "flipped," they temporarily entered another dimension, leaving only the thick fog and invading monsters.

Luo, still babbling as she stepped out: "And what if I run off the moment you take me outside? With all the chaos and fighting, if you’re distracted, I can just..."

Before she finished, she saw a thick shadow falling from the sky, exploding into countless twisted frenzied illusions in the mist, terrifying low whispers and crawling sounds coming from all directions, monsters everywhere in the mist.

Taller, bigger, more waaaagh than those from the Space Station before.

She swallowed the rest of her sentence.

Little Red Riding Hood glanced back, "You sure you wanna run?"

Luo swallowed hard, looked around, then glanced back at the door leading back to the valley—guarded by a group of sinister red-eyed dwarfs.

"I will swear to stay behind you all!"
