Chapter 699: Love Handle Appreciation

Hearing this, Maria was utterly flustered.

She had never expected to hear such loving, passionate words from Cassius about her body.

All throughout her life, whenever anyone wanted to compliment her, they would simply call her beautiful and focus on her face, on how gorgeous she was.

And even though it was quite obvious they were staring at her body and looking at her with different intentions, they would never dare say such things so blatantly.

Instead, like perverts, they would just sneak glances at her.

But here was Cassius, who didn’t have a hint of shame at all. He was appreciating her body right in front of her, saying such bold things—

And to her surprise, she didn’t feel angry at all.

Instead, she felt so appreciated.

Truly, his words made her lose all the insecurities she’d had earlier and made her genuinely feel as if her body was something she didn’t have to worry about.

After all, with such a passionate way Cassius looked at her and the speech he’d given, even a girl who was genuinely overweight would start blushing and become shy.

Maria felt so flustered that she wanted to run back to her room and hide under the covers.

She was really happy to hear such words. They made her feel so much better about herself.

And honestly, they worked a little too well on her—she actually wanted to hear more praise like that, hear Cassius compliment her body even more, even though she knew it was rather shameless of her.

Of course, she couldn’t blatantly ask him for such a thing.

So instead, she let out a small cough and looked at him in a rather dignified manner.

"Well." She said calmly. "With all those words and how passionate you are, I guess you really do like my body?"

Cassius nodded his head frantically, which made her give a rather cute smile.

But then she looked down at her body once again, and her expression became vulnerable.

"But what about these?"

She asked softly, grabbing onto the excess flesh on both sides of her belly.

"What about these...flaps of meat I have here? Don’t you find them unappealing?"

Even as she asked, she felt terrified of the answer.

This was the part of her body she hated most—the soft overhang that wouldn’t go away no matter how she starved herself. The part that made her feel old, undesirable, like a woman past her prime.

But Cassius’s eyes lit up.

Like a starving man presented with a feast.

"Flaps?" He sounded almost offended. "Is that what you call them?"

She blinked. "What else would I call them?"

He stepped closer, his gaze fixed on the very part of her she had tried to hide.

"I prefer to call them love handles."

The name surprised her. She had never heard it before, but somehow, it transformed the part of her she hated into something almost...desirable.

But Cassius didn’t stop there.

"As for what I feel about them?" He smiled in a rather bold manner. "Well, I’ll just say that if you were my wife—"

Maria’s heart skipped.

"—I would spend every single night with you on my lap, playing with those love handles of yours."

"You’d feel my hands all over that place, and I would never want to let go. To the extent that there would be marks from my hands because of how much I’d want to touch them all the time."

Hearing those words made Maria feel dizzy from the sheer ecstasy and joy she was experiencing.

Not only did she love the term he used—"love handles" instead of the "meat flaps" that she’d heard other women use disparagingly.

But he went on to say such loving words. Almost as if he were a husband who couldn’t get enough of his wife’s body.

And the way he looked at her—not just with lust, but with such genuine love made her feel that even the deepest insecurities about her body had completely vanished.

She felt as if Cassius would love her no matter what, like she was some sort of goddess in his eyes.

In fact, with how enthusiastic he was, she was pretty sure that if she asked him to bark like a dog, he would do it without hesitation.

The thought made her want to giggle—it would be rather cute.

But then she looked at Cassius and realized he didn’t really need to bark.

He already looked like a cute puppy right now, gazing at her with such adoring eyes, as if he would be willing to follow her wherever she went just to be by her side.

It was so endearing to look at.

And after hearing all the words he’d said with such love, she felt overwhelming gratitude and warmth in her heart.

She wanted to do something for Cassius in return.

To give something back for all that he had given her just now.

She didn’t want to lose this moment to some sort of propriety or hesitation. She just wanted to make him happy.

But it wasn’t as if she could just compliment his body—that would be useless.

She had seen Cassius’s physique before, and she had to admit it was something no woman out there could deny was extremely attractive.

A universally desired body. So her compliments would feel shallow.

But she really did want to make him happy and do something for him.

She wondered what she could do.

Then she noticed the look in his eyes and followed his gaze.

Even right now, he was staring at her belly, at the soft flesh there.

She felt her throat go dry. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

His gaze and expression were so obvious—she knew exactly what he was thinking right now.

And seeing that gaze, she realized something.

She realized exactly what he wanted at this moment.

And she could give it to him.

But then she quickly shook her head internally.

’That wouldn’t be appropriate. As a sister of the Goddess, I can’t do something like that.’

But at the same time, she had been taught in the teachings that kindness should always be returned with kindness.

And after all the kindness Cassius had shown her, she wanted to do the same.

So she finally made up her mind.

She grabbed onto his hand with a determined look on her face.

"Cassius." She said firmly. "Come with me."

She started pulling him away.

"Wait, Maria, where are we going?" Cassius asked, surprised.

But Maria didn’t stop. She just kept dragging him along, all the way until they were behind a large tree—one that blocked them from view of the rest of the mansion.

While Cassius stood there confused about what was happening, Maria looked around in a shy manner, as if searching to see if anyone was watching.

Seeing that no one was there, she let out a sigh of relief.

Then she looked at Cassius with a rather vulnerable gaze, as if she couldn’t believe she was doing this herself.

But seeing his handsome face, she really couldn’t hold herself back anymore.

To Cassius’s utter surprise, she grabbed onto her belly and pushed it out slightly.

"Go ahead, Cassius." She said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Go ahead and touch this belly of mine that you love so much."

She bit her lip, blushing furiously.

"I won’t say anything." She added shyly. "So go ahead and feel it to your heart’s content."

Hearing this, Cassius was completely caught off guard.

He never would have expected Maria of all people to say something so bold.

The way she stood there, flustered and vulnerable, with that limpid, almost pleading look in her eyes...it was as if a devil had slipped into the body of the gentle sister of the Goddess and was now tempting him outright.

He couldn’t stop himself from stammering.

"Maria...why? Why are you suddenly doing all this? What exactly happened for you to make such a decision?"

His full confusion only made things worse.

Maria felt a flash of anger rise in her chest, mingled with a strange, dirty heat.

Here she was, offering him the very thing he had been staring at so hungrily, and instead of seizing the chance he was questioning her like some innocent boy.

She crossed her arms, cheeks burning.

"I’m giving you an opportunity that you most obviously want." She said, voice tight. "And instead of lunging at it, you’re actually hesitating? Fine. If you really don’t want to do it, then don’t."

She turned as if to walk away.

Cassius panicked instantly. His hand shot out and caught her wrist.

"Wait—don’t! Hold on!" He pulled her back gently, eyes wide with apology. "I’m sorry. I won’t hesitate anymore. I won’t ask any more questions.’

Please...don’t go away!"

Seeing him genuinely pleading—so pitiful and desperate—Maria’s anger melted.

She couldn’t help but smile. She stepped back against the broad trunk of the tree, pressing her shoulders to the bark, and looked down at him with a beautiful, radiant smile.

"Go ahead, young man." She said softly. "Do whatever you want."

In that moment, to Cassius, Maria no longer seemed like a simple sister of the Goddess.

She looked like a genuine saint, haloed in holy light, sent by the Goddess herself to ease the suffering of ordinary men and bring warmth wherever she walked.

The compassion and love on her face were so pure that he felt it in his bones.

Overcome, he dropped to his knees right there in the grass, clasped his hands together, and murmured a quiet prayer under his breath—thanking the Goddess above for the beautiful woman before him, exactly like a blessing said before a meal he was about to devour.

Maria blinked in surprise and opened her mouth to ask what on earth he was doing. But before the words left her lips, Cassius opened his eyes.

The reverent look vanished, replaced by a raw, hungry glare. He couldn’t hold back any longer.

He lunged forward, hands clamping onto both sides of her waist, fingers sinking deep into the soft flesh there.

"Ahhh—!" Maria winced at the sudden grip.

Then he plunged his entire face straight into her belly, pressing hard against the warm, yielding curve.

She panicked, flustered beyond words, and grabbed at his head with both hands.

"Cassius! What are you doing? Why are you rubbing your face on my belly right now?"

He didn’t pull back. He just kept nuzzling deeper, voice muffled against her.

"You’re the one who said I could do whatever I want, Maria. And what I want right now is to rub my face all over this beautiful place and feel the softness everywhere."

Maria had to admit she had said exactly that—yet she had never imagined anything like this.

Still, the way his nose brushed against her, the ridiculous, overwhelming sensation spreading through her body...she couldn’t stop the small smile that curved her lips.

"But Cassius...don’t you think this is too much? I thought you would just use your hands—gently caress the spot. Not...merge your face into it like some bear trying to eat my guts."

He finally pulled back just enough to look up at her, eyes narrowed with playful challenge.

"You already said it, Maria. You told me I could do whatever I wanted. You can’t possibly take back what you promised, right?"

"That would be unbecoming of a sister."

Maria opened her mouth to argue, then closed it.

He was right. She had said the words. She had opened this door.

She let out a sigh that was half exasperation, half surrender, and gently stroked his hair.

"Fine, Cassius. Fine." She smiled down at him. "Go ahead. Do whatever you want."

His grin was immediate and blinding.

He dove back in with renewed enthusiasm, pressing his face against her belly, rubbing his cheek against the soft mound, nuzzling into the fabric of her robes like a cat claiming its favorite sleeping spot.

Maria giggled, the sensation ticklish and strange.

"Stop moving so aggressively! I’m ticklish there—"

"Sorry, Maria." His voice was muffled, his words pressed into her flesh. "I really can’t help myself. It’s your fault, you know. Showing such a beautiful treasure in front of me, telling me not to hold back..." He pressed deeper "...you can only blame yourself."

Maria laughed, her fingers tightening in his hair.

"Oh, Cassius." Her voice came out breathier than she intended. "You naughty, naughty boy. You really love this part of me, don’t you?"

"I do." He pulled back just enough to look at her, his face flushed, his eyes bright. "I fucking love it! I could stay here forever!"

She smiled down at him, a teasing glint in her eye.

"That might be a problem, you know. My daughter Joy actually likes this place quite a lot too."

Cassius froze.

She continued, enjoying his expression.

"Whenever she lies in my lap, she always buries her face in my belly. She’s never said it outright, but she’s obviously quite a fan of this area as well."

She looked down at him with mock sympathy.

"So, if she heard what you just said, she’d get very angry. She wouldn’t give up her spot for anyone."

Hearing this, Cassius had no choice but to pull back and his face was flushed and sweaty now—and Maria realized with a blush that it was her sweat mixed with his, transferred from where he had been pressing his face against her.

While she wanted to wipe his face, Cassius’s expression hardened into something almost stubborn.

"I don’t care." He declared. "I don’t care what your daughter thinks. When it comes to something like this..." He grabbed her belly with both hands, shaking it gently "...I definitely can’t give it up. I’ll fight her for territory if I have to."

Maria stared down at him and she couldn’t help but smile.

He looked like a spoiled child. A stubborn, adorable, utterly determined child who had found something he wanted and refused to let it go.

She couldn’t help the surge of affection that flooded through her.

"It’s alright Cassius. There’s no need to fight since as embarrassing as it is to admit..."

"....I have plenty of space right here."

She said, gently stroking the very flesh he was worshipping.

"Both you and Joy can share it. I can take both of you onto my lap and let you do whatever you want."

His eyes went wide.

"Really?"

She smiled down at him, her fingers tracing gentle patterns on her stomach.

"Really. So take your time. Enjoy it as much as you want."
