Demon Slayer : The Silent Journey-Chapter 185: Title at the end
Chapter 185 - Title at the end
[Seiji's POV]
"It's great to have you back Seiji-san. I feel much better knowing that you are here," Muichiro said as he crouched beside me.
I continued holding Mitsuri to my chest while my back leaned against the cracked wall. Kanae stood in front of me, her gaze soft as it fell on us.
"How many Hashiras are present in total?" I asked Muichiro while I looked around at the battlefield.
"Other than me and Mitsuri, there was Sanemi, Obanai and Tengen," he said.
"That means there is every Hashira except Gyomei at this moment. The Stone Pillar should be in the Ubuyashiki Mansion, he had been guarding Lord Ubuyashiki since his illness got worse recently," Kanae said.
I gave a nod and continued looking around at the ruined mansion. The demons were many but they were quickly being killed by the other Hashiras and Demon Slayers.
I saw Giyu fighting in the east, Obanai was also there near the lab and then there was Sanemi who went berserk searching for other demons as he finally killed Omburo.
All of the Twelve Moon demons have been killed, I made quick work of three of since I arrived adn the others have also killed most of them.
The only ones to remain among the Moon Demons were Kokushibo and Nakime. Muzan was really in a tight spot. This war was practically over now, we won.
"Hey Mitsuri," I nudged at the pink-haired girl softly. She wiggled in my embrace and finally looked up at me. Her teary eyes were as beautiful as I remembered.
I kissed softly at her puffy eyes, "I miss you too, but we are in the middle of a battle here,"
She blinked once, and then twice, "Oh right!"
She quickly retracted herself from my arms and waved her hand, "I'm so sorry, I couldn't control myself,"
She blushed in embarrassment.
"No need to apologize, we will have lots of time for hugs after this is over," I said with a smile. "You remember my promise right?"
...
"hie!~" a small explosion took place on her head as her whole body turned pink to match her hair.
I grinned when I saw my teasing work and then I turned towards Muichiro and Kanae.
"Let's finish them quickly,"
They nodded in unison and disappeared from their place to finish the remaining demons. Muichiro headed towards the nearest demons while Kanae ran towards the gathering of patients so that she could not only kill demons but also help anyone in need with her medical knowledge.
I planted a small kiss on Mitsuri's lips before I stood up, "You too Mitsuri,"
She blushed. She was extra shy since it had been quite some time since we became intimate. It was like the early days of our relationship all over again.
She shook her head to get her mind off the gutters and focus on the situation.
"What about you?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
"I have something important to attend to," I said with a smile. But perhaps I could not hide under the smile or maybe Mitsuri with her loving eyes did not miss the secret in my lies.
"Will you be okay?" she asked softly.
I let out a breath, half a chuckle, half a sigh.
"I will always be okay from now on. My one-year training made sure of that," I said to which she nodded.
"Okay,"
I pulled her up from the ground and she too ran towards the places that might need her help. I watched her go with fond eyes until she disappeared amid smoke and debris.
And then....
I finally focused on the faraway mountain. My gaze cut through obstacles and distance and I saw the demon as if he was standing right in front of me.
Kokushibo.
He also stood still and his six eyes were focused on me. I could tell that he saw me as clearly as I did. He had been standing there for a while now, waiting for my reunion to finish so that we could finally have a fight.
From his stance, I could tell that he had no intention of coming to me. He did that last time so now it was my turn to go to him.
He was waiting, his simple posture itself was a challenge to me.
I contemplated for a while, deciding if it was worth going after him. After all, Muzan could use this opportunity to come to the mansion himself and attack.
But in the end, I concluded that eight Hashira should be enough to defend the mansion, even if it was against the Demon Lord himself.
And if it was not enough...

"Raven, call him back to the mansion," I said and Raven who had been flying overhead gave a chirp before following my command and flying towards the burning mountains in the opposite direction.
Rengoku. I've seen him fight against the demon and from what I could tell, he had enough firepower to not submit against Muzan so easily.

..
"Okay then...." I loaded my legs.
"Round two it is,"
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!*
Through the forest, through the hills and through any obstacles that tried to stand in my way, I carved a straight line through them and blitzed towards the first Upper Moon.
His eyes glowed red, mine glowed purple.
This was going to be the clash between the strongest human and the strongest demon.
And unlike last time, I was not afraid, I was not nervous.
For this time, we met on equal ground.
The night waits as the battle ensues.
