Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf-Chapter 55: Official Introductions (2)
The only thought in Sanchez’s mind was to run, although Adrain said he wouldn’t kill her, after seeing him slaughtering others in cold blood she lost all faith in his words.
She grabbed her car keys and immediately bolted for the door leading to the garage, when she opened it she found him standing there smiling.
She knew there was no hope and cried silently but all these supernatural beings around her could hear her almost silent sobs.
" Please, please don’t kill me." She begged in whispers and Adrain just sighed.
" Detective you’re hurting my feelings, I said I wouldn’t kill you, it pains me to know you think so little of my words."
S couldn’t hold back and giggled trying to stop his laughter, Adrian’s mouth twitched, he knew why he was laughing.
He pretended to not notice, he couldn’t ruin the picture of a cook dashing super werewolf in the detective’s mind.
The detective went back inside but but she didn’t dare take Adrain off her eyes, she almost tripped and fell while backing off.
He drew closer and closer with each step making her breath heavy, her heart pounded like a drum in her chest.
She hit the wall then closed her eyes, she had nowhere to retreat to. " Sit." She heard his voice.
Adrian was sitting on a chain and eating something, upon closer look she noticed it was a heart of one of the people he killed.
Red blood covered his mouth and dripped to her floor, it was a terrifying sight that made her cry.
Then she noticed more shadows inside her heart, besides the other guy who was with Adrian, the rest were covered by dark cloaks.
They were people he was fighting and all of them were now kneeling on her floor and sat there quietly.
Even she could see the fear in their eyes but she understood them. " Now detective, let’s talk."
Sanchez sat down opposite Adrain and waited for him to speak, he ate the raw heart until he was done then waved his hand.
An invisible forced removed the blood on his face and hands, it flew in front of her eyes like magic all the way to her sink then the tap opened itself and washed it off.
She was startled but didn’t say anything, " I know you’ve been poking your head everywhere looking for me.
Well, now I’m here so tell me detective, why were you looking for me?" He asked but Sanchez didn’t know how to answer.
The truth was she doesn’t understand her obsession either, was it to arrest him, she didn’t think so.
While impersonating an officer was a crime, it wouldn’t have made her so obsessed to the point of ruining her life.
" I...I.." She found it hard to speak, she was distracted because next to Adrian was a dog.
A normal large dog wagging its tail and sticking its tongue out. She didn’t know where this dog came from.
Then she remembered that giant flaming demon beast and her heart almost stopped with fear but the current dog looked too cute, nothing like that terrifying thing.
She took a deep breath and looked him in the eye. " I don’t know, perhaps I just wanted the truth."
" The truth huh? Why? Why was the truth so important to you that you would risk your livelihood for it?"
Sanchez didn’t know what to say to that, she wondered that herself, the end goal of it all, what would she have had achieved from knowing.
Then she sighed, " I wanted reaffirming that I was not crazy, that I wasn’t seeing things and there was a world hidden from ours."
" Naaa, that’s not it, there’s more to it isn’t there?" Adrian asked but the truth was that he was just talking to sound cool at this point.
Like he can see through her and it seemed to have worked, Sanchez looked like a kid caught doing something naughty.
" I..I wanted to be right."
Adrian nodded, " Why, why is being right so important to you?"

Lucas watched the interaction between the human woman and this monster they were sent to kill but he couldn’t pay attention.
His mind was on what waited for him, as a vampire he greatly feared death, after all he had eternal life.
He had lived for nearly 600 years but as a plebeian vampire, reaching level 2 was nearly impossible for him.
Even so, he was still a vampire and should not have to fear death yet here he was waiting for it in fear.
He took a deep breath and the scent entered entered his nose, he had caught this scent ever since he laid eyes on this boy.
He knew instinctively that consuming this boy’s blood will promote him either to level 2 and might even rank up his bloodline turning him into a noble.
So when he faced him, he was really happy thinking his future was about to turn bright and he could shed the status of a mere servant.
Yet that hope was shattered really quickly, most people thought vampires could retain their youthful appearance forever but that not true.
That age slower but they still age, while old age can’t kill them, at a certain point if they can’t reach a higher level their blood energy dwindles.
When that happens they enter a state of dark slumber, it was a long slumber akin to death.
In that state, they can’t feel, see or even think but their blood energy grows more pure, they can be woken up.
When they are pulled out of slumber, they achieve a state of power stronger than when they went to slumber depending on how long they slept.
Of course this was temporary, that pure blood energy was false energy that only lasts a short while until they have to slumber again.
Lucas didn’t want to experience that but he would have to, as a 600 year old level 1 vampire he can live normally for a thousand years before needing slumber.
The human and the little monster stopped talking, he realised their conversation was over while he dozing off.
Then the little monster turned towards them and grinned making his heart pound with fear.
