Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 199: Don’t You Feel The Least Bit Of Shame?
Chapter 199: Don’t You Feel The Least Bit Of Shame?
Cassie and Serena’s conversation was cut short by a phone call from Julian, who had just arrived at the hospital, but couldn’t get in because of the security stationed outside.
The agency had arranged for some extra security to give off an image of control of the situation.
Answering the phone, Serena froze when he asked her to come fetch him.
’What is he doing here?!’ she looked to Cassie in a panic. She hadn’t explained anything to Cassie yet, and was afraid her daughter would say something that would give away her plan.
Cassie noticed the fear in her mother’s eyes and asked, "Mom who are you talking to?"
Julian responded, "Cassie is awake already?" he asked, his tone laced with relief and concern, the former outshining the latter.
Serena quickly made for the door and unlocked it, she dashed past her concerned sister and made for the elevator, her phone still held to her ear.
"What on Earth is wrong with her?" Sarah thought aloud as she walked into the hospital room.
Stepping inside she laid eyes on Cassie and even though she was bandaged, there was no denying how beautiful she looked. It was little wonder how she became so well loved in the entertainment industry.
However, the gentle faced beauty suddenly parted her lips and hissed, "Close the damn door behind you!"
Sarah was completely stunned by her outburst, her crass tone didn’t match the gentle face sitting on her neck. Complying she did as she was told, chalking it up to Cassie fearing for her life.
Breaking the ice she stated, "The police said you were attacked by a fan who stalked you. That must’ve been quite scary-"
Cassie scoffed, "That bastard is no fan of mine! How dare that filthy thing think he’s even worthy to touch me! I hope he gets caught soon, so I can teach that bastard a lesson."
Recalling that night, on her way back from her meeting, she was jumped by a frantic fan who had stalked her from her house. He had seen who she was meeting with and demanded answers out of her.
While trying to get away from him, she slipped and cracked her head against a stone. Considering her meetup location was a desolated area, it took a while before she was found and hence, she ended up bleeding quite a lot.
Pulling herself a chair, Sarah sat next to Cassie and reached for her hand, "Do you remember me, I’m your aunt Sarah-"
Cassie slapped her hand away, "Don’t touch me so casually! I don’t care who you are, I already know you’re out to leech off me."
She shook her head, "Cassie, I’m worried about you. Online people are calling you all sorts of things, if you keep threading this path-"
"You have some nerve trying to preach to me!" she snapped at her, "Don’t you know it’s tasteless to stick your nose where it doesn’t belong?!" she folded her arms and sent her a sharp glare.
But Sarah did not relent, instead she chuckled lightly, "Speaking of sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong, shouldn’t you take your own advice?"
Cassie turned to her, pissed at her remark, "What did you just say?"
Reclining into her seat, she repeated herself, wearing an all knowing look on her face too, "That night, you went out to see Brookes husband, Ethan, didn’t you? That’s why a pregnant whore like you was out so late at night."
Cassie clenched her jaw, no one would dare call her a whore to her face. After all, Brooke was undeserving of Ethan, and he was her prey from the onset. So rightfully, sleeping with him was a right of hers.
Sarah went on, "You really didn’t change all these years, you’re still jealous of your elder sister. Aren’t you the least bit ashamed? Don’t you get tired of chasing after her scraps?"
Cassie’s eyes went round, "What sister? You mean that vegetable?" She laughed, "Dear auntie, I think you need to get your facts right. Isn’t Brooke the one chasing after a role I rejected? She’s always wanted to be me, but she just sadly never measure up."
Staring at her nails she went on, "She couldn’t even get pregnant for Ethan, so naturally he came to me. Is it my fault that bitch can’t tie down a man?"
Her aunt’s features dampened, Cassie no matter how rude has the upper hand. She was pregnant for Ethan’s child, and was the more successful actress.
To herself she worried, ’Is this why Brooke said they broke up? Did Cassie convince Ethan to divorce Brooke?’ the thought made her sick to the stomach.
"Cassie you can’t always have your way! Don’t you feel the least bit ashamed for cheating your sister? Did you ever even apologize for what you did to her? Are you even sorry for it?"
Sorry? The thought alone angered Cassie. "That bitch is the cause of all my problems! If I could I’d-" her words were cut short by a knock on the door, followed swiftly by the arrival of her mother and a stranger, who was dressed no plainer than a common driver.
Sarah was the first to recognize him, "Julian? What are you doing here?" She averted her gaze from him to her sister, who looked as pale as a ghost.
Serena parted her lips, "Cassie this is-"
"If you wouldn’t mind it, I’d like to speak with Miss Cassie alone, Serena." Julian announced, cutting her off miserably.
"A-Alone?" Serena’s chest tightened.
His eyes fixed on Cassie he retorted, "I have somethings I’d like to ask her in private."
Forcing a smile she replied, "Of course...I see." Weakly, she signaled Sarah over and led her outside. Before leaving she tried to gesture at Cassie but her daughter ignored her completely, a deep frown etched onto her face.
Closing the door after them, Julian stared intently at Cassie, her words right before he stepped in played in his head, ’That bitch is the cause of all my problems! If I could I’d-’
He had done some digging on Cassie on his way to the hospital and from the articles she was branded as the industry’s angel.
To himself he wondered, ’Would an angel sound so crass when speaking?’
Taking another look at her deep scowl he pondered, could this woman really be his long lost daughter?
