Chapter 944: Chapter 40: Lustful Pursuits (Part 3)

The hooked kiss leaned forward slightly and whispered,

"What’s the matter?"

Fisher also leaned closer, the three of them huddled together, whispering conspiratorially as Qiong earnestly said,

"Lustful, and not just ordinarily lustful, oh... it’s awfully strange, you’ll know when you get there. Anyway, since this morning, Uncle Chun has been busy entertaining him, now that you’re here, he can finally catch his breath."

Lustful?

Fisher and the hooked kiss exchanged a glance, seemingly still not fully grasping what the elder was talking about, but soon, they would understand.

As mentioned before, Uncle Chun’s palace was right at the base of that giant tree, not much different from the other wooden houses, but vastly different in terms of specification and style. Here, there were strict requirements regarding the number of steps, how many levels each step should have, and how many pillars each house should have.

The "rituals" revered by the elves seemed to have left traces only here in this realm.

The carriage stopped in front of a very spacious square, with several guards before the great hall, one side wielding Chun wood weapons, and the other side using other metal objects, symbolizing the state of two realms.

Qiong led them quickly towards the palace, and from afar, Fisher seemed to hear a peculiar music. The instruments appeared to be made of some metal, producing sound through striking, overall sounding ethereal and elegant. As the music lingered, Qiong led Fisher and his group to the front of the great hall, where he knelt to the ground and shouted loudly towards the hall,

"Count Heng, Uncle Chun, envoy from the Holy Land, for the King’s birthday!"

The music in the hall abruptly stopped, Fisher looked up towards the hall, only to see two tables placed at the distant end of the spacious great hall, one high, one low. In front of the slightly lower table sat a male elf species dressed in black.

He looked quite young, with a pair of extremely long ears on either side of his cheeks, adorned with numerous metal ornaments that jingled when he turned his head; long black hair was solemnly coiled atop his head, held in place by some hair crown, his expression was very bland, his eyes light purple, and otherwise not much different from humans.

His aura was quite apparent, probably around the Sixteenth Rank. After hearing Qiong’s words, he turned his head, first glancing at Fisher standing sideways to the hooked kiss, and then glanced at each of them in turn, finally resting his eyes on Helair standing at the back of everyone.

Just one glance, Fisher recognized that the youthful-looking elf was indeed the "Uncle Chun" Qiong had mentioned.

Then, sitting at the main seat must be...

Fisher’s gaze moved away from Chun, inching forward to look at the male elf sitting on the main seat. That elf appeared rather youthful, his appearance possibly only resembling a twelve to thirteen-year-old human, looking quite beautiful, with black hair tied in a luxurious crown very similar to Chun’s, only his complexion was a bit flushed, seemingly having drunk some wine.

That was Count Heng from the neighboring realm.

His long ears twitched slightly, with nothing hanging from them, hence not making the crisp sound like Chun’s; he took a sip from the cup, the seemingly naive face showing a rather uncharacteristically mature expression, he hiccuped, then rose while holding the cup, saying to Qiong and Fisher before him,

"Come in... hic, but don’t stop, you..." he then looked towards the musician seated in the hall, speaking, "Keep playing music, keep dancing."

Beside him, Uncle Chun sighed, waving his hand towards the people below, they immediately nodded in response,

"Yes."

Elder Qiong hobbled to his feet, wiping sweat, inviting the people behind him to enter, Helair walked forward, and the others instinctively slowed their pace, following closely behind her, only realizing she was leading when she finally came to her senses.

As Chun’s orders were given, the music within the palace sounded once more, and the large doors on either side of the palace slowly opened, followed by a faint fragrant breeze, revealing inside numerous demi-human species, some furry, some slimy, some soft and cuddly.

Those female demi-human species wriggled, leaped, or strolled into the center of the great hall, swaying their bodies along with the music beside them.

Their clothing, race, and age differed greatly, but perhaps they all share a particularly common trait, that being "extremely strong non-human characteristics".

The mammoth species swung their trunks, the mantis species shook their sickles and antennae, and moth species fluttered their powdery wings, spinning in mid-air...

"Good! Good! Great dancing!"

With Count Heng’s drunken cheers, the entirety of the majestic hall seemed painted like Hell.
