Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Baby, You Begged Too Soon

Not long ago, Natalie wanted to separate from him, wanted to divorce him, the cold and resolute look suddenly popped into Isaac Vaughn’s mind.

"Where did this doll come from?"

Natalie’s face was squeezed with the doll on the phone screen.

She asked him, her eyes clear.

Isaac’s throat felt a bit dry, his voice slightly hoarse: "It’s from Kiki, for you."

"Kiki? Your little niece?"

"Yeah."

"I really like it." Natalie set the phone aside and started playing with the doll.

"Little Ear!"

Isaac saw her touching the doll and spoke out impulsively.

Although the recording inside the doll had long been erased, at this moment, he still felt uncontrollably suffocated.

As Natalie touched the doll’s switch, a man’s voice came from within the doll:

"Little Ear is a fool."

Natalie could tell it was Isaac’s voice, filled with laughter.

She intentionally kept a stern face, looking at the person on the other end of the phone.

Isaac touched his nose and coughed lightly.

"That was recorded a long time ago."

"You’re the fool." Natalie muttered, grabbed the phone, and hung up.

Isaac: [Are you angry?]

Natalie: [.]

Isaac: [Don’t be angry. I’ll record something else for you next time.]

Natalie held the doll, listening to "Little Ear is a fool" many times.

She didn’t know why, but each time she felt increasingly stifled inside, as if something was about to break out.

It seemed like there was some meaning hidden behind those words.

She just couldn’t recall.

——

When Natalie opened her eyes, she once thought she was hallucinating.

She was careful not to blink. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

After a while she slowly reached out her hand.

Slender, cool fingers fell on his face, tracing the lines of his eyebrows and eyes.

Until the fingertips brushed against his thin lips, suddenly being swallowed up by his open mouth.

Her fingers went numb, and instinctively she wanted to pull back, but his teeth held them.

He opened his eyes, his dark pupils filled with amusement.

Her fingers still caught between his teeth.

It didn’t hurt.

Just very embarrassing.

She tried again to pull her fingers back, this time he let go.

But then he came closer.

Natalie was caught off guard as he kissed her.

The back of her head was held, unable to break free or move, she could only bear the domineering and fervent kiss that was almost suffocating.

Until she was finally released.

Her lips were swollen, breathing rapid, she had no strength left to speak.

"Do you remember what I said?"

Isaac whispered close to her ear, his deep voice drilling into the ear with the hearing aid.

Natalie shrank back in fear.

Wanted to escape.

He held her tight, entangled her.

Not allowing escape.

"I said I wanted you crying with red eyes, begging me."

Natalie felt small and helpless: "Please, please..."

"Baby, you’re pleading too soon."

Isaac chuckled.

Then under Natalie’s aggrieved and shocked gaze, he conquered.

"Actually, I lied to you."

"Seeing you crying with red eyes, begging me, only makes me less willing to let you go."

"Bastard..."

Natalie cried, her eyelids and nose tip turning red.

Isaac held her chin, tilting her head to kiss her.

She cried so beautifully.

So beautiful that he wanted her locked on this bed, watching her cry day and night.

But that thought was too dark, he feared it would frighten her.

——

The next afternoon, Natalie finally got out of bed.

All the way into the evening, she hadn’t said a word to Isaac.

Isaac coaxed her for a long time, promising not to be so crazy recently, only then did she agree to go out for dinner with him.

"What do you want to eat?"

Natalie nestled in the passenger seat, yawning, still lazy.

"Anything."

"Alright."

When they arrived at the dining place, Isaac handed the car keys to the valet and led her inside.

They ran straight into Tristan Jordan.

"I happened to be in Seaharbor handling some affairs."

Tristan said, concernedly asking Natalie, "Is Miss Kendall feeling better?"

He thought Natalie hadn’t gone to Beckett Group because she was ill, but actually, she’d been kept in bed by Isaac, unable to get up.

Natalie felt a bit embarrassed and replied, "I’m much better."

"That’s good." Tristan nodded, suddenly noticing a glaring red mark on the side of her neck, his eyes darkening slightly.

Apparently, the illness was a lie.

Isaac didn’t want Natalie talking much with Tristan, so he led her away.

During dinner.

Isaac stepped out and ran into Tristan again at the restroom entrance.

"I heard Vivienne is now working with you, so I have to trouble you to look after her."

Isaac puffed on his cigarette, exhaled a smoke ring, and looked at Tristan.

"Don’t loiter around Natalie too much unless necessary."

With just the two of them, he didn’t even bother to pretend.

Tristan laughed lightly, "I’m afraid that won’t do."

Isaac’s expression instantly turned cold.

Just then, a woman passing by saw Tristan and greeted him happily, "Dr. Jordan!"

Hearing the woman call Tristan by that name, Isaac’s demeanor stiffened.

After the woman left, he asked Tristan, "You’re a doctor?"

Tristan responded with a smile, "Yes. Therefore, I can’t agree to your request to stay away from Natalie."

Pausing, he suddenly restrained his smile, enunciating word by word: "Because Natalie is my patient."
