Chapter 76: Chapter 76: Marking Him

Natalie walked towards the front desk and politely asked if she could see Vice President Vaughn.

The receptionist asked, "Miss, do you have an appointment?"

Natalie shook her head.

The receptionist said, "Sorry, miss, without an appointment, you can’t see Vice President Vaughn."

Natalie thanked her, turned around, and walked out.

Just as she stepped out the door, someone called her.

A chubby man in a security uniform smiled and asked her, "Miss, I just heard you want to see the vice president?"

Natalie looked at the man.

The man rubbed his hands, "Without an appointment, they won’t let you up. But if you want to, I can help."

Saying this, the man took out his phone, "Let’s exchange contacts, and I’ll take you up, how about that?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Natalie asked, "So, Vice President Vaughn is up there, right?"

"Yeah, he hasn’t gone out today. I’ve been here, if he left, I’d know."

"Don’t worry, if I say I’ll take you up, I’ll make sure he’s there."

Upon hearing this, Natalie nodded at the man and turned to leave.

"Hey? Miss, you’re not going up? Miss."

The man was surprised and took two steps after her, but Natalie didn’t even look back.

Being a security guard, he couldn’t just leave his post, so he could only watch Natalie leave, eyes filled with the regret of a cooked duck flying away.

——

In the meeting room.

Isaac Vaughn walked in, sat down, and looked at the visitor.

"Why are you here?"

He thought he had made things clear with Vivienne Jordan last time.

Vivienne pursed her lips and said, "I’m going to start working here soon."

Isaac was surprised upon hearing that.

Vivienne continued, "The General Manager here is my uncle."

Frederick Whitman is Vivienne’s uncle?

Isaac’s expression darkened, showing little emotion: "Oh, I see."

He stood up, "Then I wish you a smooth career."

After saying this, he started to walk out.

"Isaac!"

Vivienne looked at his cold departing figure, gritting her teeth to call him.

Isaac stopped and asked her, "Is there anything else?"

"About you and Natalie..."

Their affair had spread all over Janton, so Vivienne surely knew.

Isaac’s face was indifferent.

Vivienne licked her lips, "I want to say that I don’t mind. You must have been temporarily captivated by her."

Isaac chuckled.

He walked back to stand in front of Vivienne.

For some reason, Vivienne suddenly felt nervous, a hint of fear mixed in her tension.

Isaac observed her, a faint smile curved on his lips, but the underlying tone was cold.

"Go on."

Vivienne opened her mouth, but it was as if she lost her voice for a moment.

Isaac looked at her and prompted her, "You want to say that I was involved in a scandal with my little uncle’s fiancée, ruining my reputation in Janton. But you don’t mind me and are still interested in me, right?"

Isaac’s expression was cold.

Vivienne’s face turned ashen.

"Considering our acquaintance, I won’t say anything too harsh, so you, being a girl, can handle it."

Even though he said he wouldn’t say anything harsh, Vivienne felt he already did.

Wasn’t he just saying that no matter how bad his reputation was, he wouldn’t want her?

Her eyes reddened, not understanding what was so wrong with her that he would reject her like this.

And Isaac looked at her, with no pity in his eyes, simply turned around and left the meeting room.

——

"Knock, knock."

Natalie, who was reading a book in the bedroom, heard the knocking and looked up.

Isaac’s tall figure leaned against the doorframe, with a doting smile at the corner of his lips, "Time to eat."

Natalie put down her book and walked over.

The two went downstairs to eat, and after dinner, they took a walk nearby.

That night, Isaac took a shower, and as soon as he came out of the bathroom, he heard Natalie say, "I went to your company this afternoon. The front desk said that without an appointment, I couldn’t go up."

Isaac’s hand froze as he was drying his hair.

He looked at her, meeting her clear gaze.

"So when you called me, you were actually downstairs at the company?"

"Yes."

Isaac sighed, hanging the towel around his neck, and walked over to sit beside her.

"So why did you hold back and only mention it tonight?"

"I really didn’t go out this afternoon, I was at the company the whole time. When you called, I was meeting someone in the guest room, and I didn’t want her to see you, so I didn’t let you come up."

He took Natalie’s hand, "For now, I don’t want people knowing you’re here. That person knows you."

Secretly, he hoped they could enjoy a quiet life without interruptions for a while.

Natalie nodded, indicating she understood.

She just accepted his explanation like that.

Isaac looked at her and laughed.

His long fingers pinched her nose, "Aren’t you a bit too easy to pacify?"

Natalie tilted her head to look at him for a moment, then suddenly leaned forward, wrapping her arms around his shoulder and pressed her lips to his neck, sucking gently.

Isaac hesitated, then wrapped his arms around her waist, his voice hoarse, "So bold?"

He lowered his head to find her lips, and once he did, he wouldn’t let go.

——

The next day, while Isaac was reviewing documents, a knock came at the office door.

The door was open.

He looked up and saw Vivienne.

She was dressed in a beige business outfit, holding a document.

"Come in."

Vivienne walked in, placed the document in front of him, "Vice President Vaughn, the team leader asked me to bring this, needing your signature."

Isaac opened the document, read it, then picked up a pen to sign it at the end.

While he was reviewing the document, Vivienne couldn’t resist looking at him.

Suddenly, her gaze stopped.

On his neck, there was a red mark, clearly fresh.

She wasn’t inexperienced. After breaking up with Isaac, she had dated two boyfriends and been intimate with them.

So she knew well what that mark was.

He had a woman.

Yesterday, he had mercilessly rejected her again.

Yet he had turned around and been with another woman.

This was a huge humiliation for Vivienne.

Other than Natalie.

He could have other women.

But he just wouldn’t choose her!

Isaac handed the signed document to Vivienne and noticed her face with a hint of anger, staring straight at his neck.

He knew what was there, of course.

A "stamp" left by Natalie.

It didn’t take much thought to realize this "stamp" had an element of jealousy.

She rarely had such playful moments, and he was happy to indulge her, flaunting the "stamp" so openly.

Isaac shrugged the document, signaling Vivienne to take it and asked coldly, "Anything else?"

Vivienne gritted her teeth, took the signed document, murmured an apology, and left hastily.

After that, Vivienne deliberately avoided Isaac, not getting close to him anymore.

It seemed the "stamp" was quite effective.

Later, Isaac became so busy he didn’t even have time to have dinner with Natalie.

By the time he returned, she was already asleep.

He didn’t have the heart to wake her, so he took a shower in the next room before coming back to hold her as he slept.

After a busy week, he finally managed to get off work early today.

"I’m back. How about I cook some pasta for dinner tonight? We can watch a mov—"

Isaac spoke as he walked into the living room, but his words were cut off.

On the sofa, Ansel Vaughn and Vanessa Grant looked over.

One had a sullen face.

The other a pale face.

Isaac sighed.

Looking at Natalie standing quietly to the side, his heart ached, and he extended his hand to her: "Come here."
