Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 59: I’m Not Dead Yet, and You’re Already Flaunting Your Affair
"Excuse me for asking, but what number am I?"
Natalie looked puzzled upon hearing this.
Noah coughed lightly, his expression turning awkward for a moment: "Sorry, am I being too forward?"
Then he said earnestly, "Because Miss Kendall is completely, well, my ideal type."
As he said this, he seemed a bit embarrassed again: "I want to know how many love rivals I have."
Natalie quietly looked at him and asked back, "Then what number am I?"
Noah instinctively answered, "The fifth."
As soon as he finished speaking, he wished he could bite off his tongue, his face turning red.
"It’s... because my family is quite anxious, so..."
"Oh." Natalie replied calmly, answering his earlier question: "The first."
"What?" Noah was momentarily at a loss.
Natalie said, "You’re the first one I’ve met."
Upon hearing this, Noah couldn’t restrain his joy, but to cover it up, he reached out for the coffee in front of him and took a sip, only to choke from his haste.
"Cough, cough!"
"I... I apologize."
He knew his performance was nothing short of a disaster and his face became pale because of it.
Natalie said it was fine and handed him a pack of tissues.
Noah held the tissues and looked up at the girl sitting opposite him.
His gaze was direct and eager.
Her beauty was undeniable, her cool temperament like a solitary plum blossom blooming in the cold.
More importantly—
His gaze fell on Natalie’s ears.
She had a flaw.
A beautiful flaw.
So captivating!
He couldn’t resist.
He felt he was already deeply in love with her.
Noah’s heart trembled, knowing that if he couldn’t have her, it would be a great regret.
"What does Miss Kendall think of me?"
Natalie looked at Noah.
The man’s appearance and background were both top-notch.
After all, he was carefully chosen by her grandfather.
But these had nothing to do with her.
"You’re very nice, but..."
Anticipating that he was about to be given the good person card, Noah hurriedly interrupted Natalie’s words.
He said with full understanding, "Miss Kendall, I actually know what you’ve been going through lately. Your former fiancé had unfortunate circumstances, and I really sympathize, truly."
"I know you might not be able to move on for now, but it’s okay, I can wait."
After hearing his words, Natalie replied calmly, "You’ve misunderstood."
"What?"
"I reject you not because I haven’t moved on."
She and Jason had no feelings.
Although Noah felt disappointed because Natalie’s final answer was still a rejection, he didn’t intend to give up.
*
As they walked out of the restaurant, Noah just about to get the car to give Natalie a ride home.
A Cullinan suddenly executed a beautiful drift and stopped right in front of them, blocking his path.
The car door opened, and Isaac stepped down with his long legs.
Seeing him, Natalie’s face immediately turned cold.
Isaac’s lips curved, walking straight toward them.
Noah knew Isaac, seeing that Isaac wore a smile but with a cold aura, subconsciously moved a step aside, blocking Natalie’s front.
It was with this move, this block.
Isaac’s steps halted.
Then the cold aura around him doubled dramatically.
He stopped pretending.
He took another step forward, reaching Noah in a few strides, his voice ominous: "Get lost."
Noah didn’t expect Isaac to speak so rudely.
He suppressed his anger and said, "Second Young Master Vaughn, what are you trying to do?"
"Picking up my person," Isaac sneered coldly, then recklessly: "You have a problem with that?"
"What do you mean your person?" Noah frowned, not thinking much into it.
He only understood Isaac’s meaning as Natalie being his uncle’s fiancée and part of their family.
"Sorry for speaking out of turn, Second Young Master Vaughn, given your uncle’s current situation, why delay Miss Kendall?"
"Oh?" Isaac raised his eyebrows with interest, looking at Noah: "What difference does delaying make? What difference does not delaying make?"
"If you don’t delay, let Miss Kendall go free."
Isaac’s face instantly turned grim.
Noah continued, "Miss Kendall now has the right to dissolve the engagement with your uncle and pursue a new life!"
"Ha!"
Isaac sneered forcibly.
He bypassed Noah, grabbed Natalie’s wrist, and pulled her directly into his arms.
Natalie struggled, but he held her shoulder tightly, preventing her from breaking free.
"You!"
Noah was so surprised he tried to grab Natalie’s wrist too, but Isaac grabbed him by the collar.
"Isaac! You, let go!"
"You better listen and understand clearly, she is my person, I’m not letting go, she’ll always be."
In Isaac’s embrace, Natalie knitted her brows, her eyes filled with anger.
His words weren’t meant for Noah but for her.
Isaac shoved Natalie into the passenger seat of the Cullinan before getting in himself.
As the window rolled down, he gave Noah, whose face was red with suppressed anger, a derisive smile, then hit the gas, the car speeding away.
In the car.
His hand on the steering wheel revealed tense veins in his forearm, indicating he was in a state of extreme anger.
"Your grandfather arranged this kind of loser for you?"
The derision in his tone was more than obvious.
Natalie chose to ignore him, turning to look out the window.
Isaac glanced at her, his heart pierced by her cold aloofness.
Though he’d just been quite angry and mocking her, now his tone softened, even showing a hint of grievance:
"Natalie Kendall, I’m not dead yet, and you’re openly finding someone else."
"Where are your morals? This is unethical, don’t you know?"
As she listened to his accusations, she found him truly absurd, even wanting to laugh.
"We’re divorced."
"Not finalized." Isaac gritted his teeth, speaking deliberately: "I haven’t signed yet!"
Natalie said nothing.
Her face grew colder.
Frustrated yet helpless over his delay in signing the divorce paperwork.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
It was her grandfather calling to ask if she was back.
Isaac, with a gloomy expression, shifted the car’s direction toward Mount Corvix.
But at the first gate, he was stopped, not allowed to enter.
Isaac could only watch helplessly as Natalie got out and entered the car sent by The Beckett family to pick her up.
——
Bar.
Franklin Finch felt this time Isaac was truly heartbroken.
Watching him drink one glass of alcohol after another, he couldn’t help but stop him.
"What’s the matter? Natalie Kendall still wants to leave you?"
Franklin realized Isaac’s expression turned dark after he spoke, then regretted it.
He really picked the worst thing to say.
"Er, well, if you can’t make it, then try coaxing, maybe if you grovel, you’ll win her back."
Isaac tilted his head back drinking, not speaking.
If groveling would make her come back, would he do it?
A thought flashed through his mind.
Damn!
He swore loudly, feeling he was truly hopeless!
"Isaac Vaughn!"
Suddenly, an angry figure stormed over.
A glass of wine splashed straight towards Isaac’s face.
"Damn!"
Franklin beside him also got splattered and jumped up in shock: "What’s going on?"
The wine trickled down Isaac’s high brow bone.
He lifted his eyelids, looking at the person in front of him.
