Chapter 33: Chapter 33: You Do Your Thing

"Oh? What do you know?"

Isaac Vaughn leaned forward slightly, tilted his head, making a listening gesture.

A smile was clearly on his face, yet the aura around him carried an oppressive feel.

The man seemed like he was being strangled, his face flushed red, unable to utter a single word.

Isaac Vaughn stood up straight, staring directly at the man.

The smile on his face vanished.

He spoke coldly: "Get lost."

The man’s face stiffened for a few seconds, but in the end, he couldn’t hold on, leaving in a hasty manner.

Once out of the safe passage, he cursed as he walked.

Suddenly recalling something, he dialed a number.

"Hey, Aaron Alden, what’s up?"

"Are you quite familiar with Scott Quinn? I need to talk to him about something."

"Scott Quinn? Yeah, we’re familiar, but he’s gone abroad."

"Gone abroad? When?"

"Just a while ago." After a pause, the person on the other end revealed to Aaron Alden: "Apparently he offended someone, and the Quinn family sent him away overnight."

"Can you get in touch with him?"

"I’ll check and let you know if I reach him."

After hanging up, Aaron Alden glanced back towards the direction of the safe passage, his expression gloomy.

Inside the safe passage.

Isaac Vaughn turned and looked at Natalie Kendall, speaking in a cold tone: "Is something wrong?"

Natalie Kendall pursed her lips in silence, as if she were competing with someone, but not sure who or over what.

After a long while, Isaac Vaughn sighed.

He flicked her forehead with his finger, gritting his teeth in frustration: "If I don’t reach out to you, you wouldn’t come to me, would you?"

Natalie Kendall found his accusation completely unfounded and unreasonable.

"I texted you the train information."

He didn’t reply to her.

That day, she waited for him at the train station, almost missing her train.

Isaac Vaughn snorted, stretching his arms to pull her into a hug, burying his head in her neck to take a sniff.

"If I hadn’t grabbed the chopsticks earlier, would you have planned to flirt with other men right under my nose? Hmm?"

Flirt with men?

Natalie Kendall frowned, thinking that his words were truly unrealistic.

She responded calmly: "If you hadn’t grabbed the chopsticks, I would have stuck them in his head."

"Pfft."

Isaac Vaughn burst into laughter.

Satisfied.

——

Isaac Vaughn took Natalie Kendall home, leaving Jason Grant to a nurse with a slender waist, long legs, and perky hips.

Passing by a supermarket, Natalie Kendall had him stop the car and went down to buy some packs of cookies and two bags of chips.

At checkout, Isaac Vaughn grabbed three boxes from the adjacent rack, casually placing them on top of the cookie bag.

"Checkout together."

Seeing what they were, Natalie Kendall blushed to her ears, forcing a neutral expression, she said to the cashier: "I don’t know him."

Isaac Vaughn: "..."

Back home, the expected cuddling didn’t happen.

Natalie Kendall sat cross-legged on the living room carpet with her computer, eating cookies while editing her thesis.

Focused on the screen, as she reached for a cookie, the cookie box was replaced.

Turning her head, she met Isaac Vaughn’s amused gaze, both annoyed and entertained.

Isaac Vaughn patted his legs, raised his eyebrows.

When he did this expression, it was utterly captivating.

Natalie Kendall hesitated between her thesis and intimacy, finally obediently sitting on his lap.

Holding his neck, she kissed him, soon becoming breathless, her eyes glistened, the corners tinged red.

Isaac Vaughn held her face to face, lifting her while kissing, moving towards the bedroom.

In bed, Natalie Kendall looked at the person in front of her, her face turning red.

Isaac Vaughn bowed his head to kiss her.

"Pick one."

The purchases from tonight were laid out in front of her.

Natalie Kendall felt her ears almost catch fire.

With closed eyes, she randomly picked one and stuffed it into his hand.

Isaac Vaughn laughed, lowering himself to kiss her ear, "So you like this."

Natalie Kendall opened her eyes to see what he held, her eyes widened slightly.

Afterwards.

He leaned against the headboard smoking a post-activity cigarette, smoke lightly drifting upwards.

Natalie Kendall snuggled beside him, suddenly remembering something important.

"When I returned to Seaharbor, I bumped into Kiki and your aunt."

Isaac Vaughn’s eyes flickered, he looked down at her, "Really?"

Natalie Kendall sat up with the blanket, speaking with some nerves: "Kiki called me ’sister-in-law,’ I don’t know if your aunt noticed anything. Did she mention anything to you?"

"No." Isaac Vaughn pulled her into his arms, kissed her forehead, "Don’t overthink."

He extinguished the cigarette, went to the bathroom to brush his teeth.

Halfway through, Natalie Kendall clamped her legs and rushed in.

"You, get out."

Seeing what she intended to do, Isaac Vaughn remained motionless, foam in his mouth, muffled: "Go ahead."

Natalie Kendall glared at him, a small shake of her body.

Being in this situation, yet she refused to go directly.

Even though they’ve shared much more intimate moments several times.

Not wanting her to hold it in.

Isaac Vaughn spat out the foam, casually rinsed his mouth and left.

Soon after, she lifted the blanket to crawl in, hugging him from behind, pressing her face against his back.

Isaac Vaughn touched the hand she placed on his waist, clasping it in his palm.

In the darkness, he opened his eyes, contrary to their physical intimacy, his gaze lacked warmth, only coldness.

——

The next day, when Natalie Kendall woke up, it was empty beside her.

Still in a semi-dazed state, she vaguely heard Vanessa Grant’s voice outside the door, she sat up suddenly. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

The next moment, the door opened, Vanessa Grant’s voice clearly entered: "It’s already late, and you’re still not up."

Natalie Kendall was stunned, as if all the blood in her body had frozen, immobilizing her.

Fortunately, Isaac Vaughn was the one who came in.

He looked at the person on the bed as if she’d lost her senses, smirking.

He closed the door and walked in, sitting by the bed.

Natalie Kendall finally seemed to find her voice, "Your, your mom..."

"Yeah, she came early in the morning. Get cleaned up and come out."

Isaac Vaughn spoke, then stood up.

Natalie Kendall grabbed his hand.

"How, how do I go out?"

She was now Natalie Kendall.

Natalie Kendall was Jason Grant’s fiancée.

Vanessa Grant sat on the couch, her eyes occasionally glancing towards the bedroom.

Not long after, Isaac Vaughn came out.

And seeing the figure behind her son clearly, Vanessa Grant gasped!
