Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 182: I Made Someone Pregnant
The nurse noticed the phone in Natalie Kendall’s hand, and seeing she had interrupted her call, she offered an apologetic look and turned to leave.
The door to the ward closed.
Natalie Kendall put the phone back to her ear, "I’m okay."
Isaac Vaughn’s voice was still anxious: "Which ward are you in? Little Ear, I’ll come find you right now!"
"No need." Natalie Kendall said and hung up.
She lifted the covers and got out of bed, just as Tristan Jordan returned.
Tristan Jordan was carrying porridge, and seeing her, he quickly walked over: "What’s wrong?"
"I want to be discharged."
"But you’re not fully recovered..."
"I’m fine now."
Natalie Kendall insisted, and Tristan Jordan couldn’t persuade her otherwise.
He drove her, passing by a porridge shop, and stopped the car.
"Let’s go in and have some porridge before heading back. You need to eat something."
Natalie Kendall was listless, having no appetite, and told him to keep driving.
"Miss Kendall, no matter what’s happened, you should at least take responsibility for your own health."
Upon hearing this, Natalie Kendall turned to look at him, slightly annoyed: "I do take responsibility for my health, no need to remind me."
"Then go eat something."
Tristan Jordan parked the car in front of the porridge shop, walked to the passenger side to open the door, and bent down to look at Natalie Kendall inside the car.
Natalie Kendall met his gaze, and after about ten seconds, got out of the car and headed towards the porridge shop.
Tristan Jordan breathed a sigh of relief and followed her closely.
Natalie Kendall ordered a bowl of sweet porridge, with some pickles, and surprisingly gained an appetite after a few bites. She nearly finished the whole bowl, feeling full and regained some strength.
At this moment, she felt somewhat grateful for Tristan Jordan’s "stubborn persistence".
Tristan Jordan drove Natalie Kendall to her building, stopped the car, and suddenly spoke: "What’s he doing here?"
Natalie Kendall was unfastening her seatbelt and looked up upon hearing this, spotting a tall, imposing figure standing not far away.
The person noticed her and started walking over with long strides.
The passenger door opened, and Lucas Lowell looked inside, "Natalie Kendall, who is he?"
"I’m Tristan Jordan. Hello, Mr. Lowell." Tristan Jordan introduced himself, "I’m Miss Kendall’s subordinate."
Lucas Lowell let out an "Oh" and shifted his focus back to Natalie Kendall, "Come on down."
He reached out to pull Natalie Kendall’s arm.
Natalie Kendall followed him out of the car.
Tristan Jordan squinted slightly and followed them out.
Natalie Kendall turned and said to him, "Thank you for today."
Tristan Jordan gripped the car door, his gaze fixed on the hand Lucas Lowell still had on Natalie Kendall’s arm.
Lucas Lowell, being a man himself, immediately sensed Tristan Jordan’s subtle hostility.
He released Natalie Kendall’s arm and instead wrapped his arm around her shoulder, making them appear more intimate.
"Natalie Kendall, why didn’t you take my call? Do you know how long I’ve been waiting downstairs at your place?"
"Sorry," Natalie Kendall said, "Is there something you needed me for?"
Lucas Lowell, holding her, walked away saying, "Can’t I just find you for no reason?"
Saying this, he glanced back at Tristan Jordan, his eyes carrying an unmistakable warning.
Once the two entered the building, Lucas Lowell released Natalie Kendall and said, "Is that guy really just your subordinate? His eyes on you didn’t seem pure."
"Yes, just a subordinate." Natalie Kendall pressed the elevator button, "So what’s the reason you came looking for me?"
Lucas Lowell scratched his head, looking eager to speak yet hesitant.
"I... I got someone pregnant."
After a long pause, he finally blurted it out.
Natalie Kendall looked at him, surprised. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Lucas Lowell shrugged, "I didn’t expect it to happen on the first try. Am I not impressive?"
He leaned in, flirting with Natalie Kendall cheekily, just as she was about to swat at his face, she looked over his shoulder and saw someone standing a few steps away, who shouldn’t be there.
