Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 166: Fatal Mistake
Sarah met Jason Grant’s vicious gaze and instantly realized what he wanted her to fetch.
She was terrified of that thing!
That thing was a demon that devours flesh and blood!
Not long ago, Jason Grant got obsessed and dragged her in, insisting she join him.
He was practically insane, gripping her neck, whispering into her ear like the devil tempting her: "It feels amazing, like being a god. A god, don’t you want that? Try it, with me, together."
As he spoke, he picked up that thing and pressed it against Sarah’s arm.
Sarah sobbed, her face covered in snot and tears, using all her strength to break free.
But she knew she couldn’t escape, so all she could do was fall to her knees before Jason Grant, begging him with tears streaming down her face.
She barely escaped from under his hands.
But now, Jason Grant actually wanted her to use that thing on Natalie.
Sarah looked at Natalie, fear and worry in her eyes.
Natalie felt a deep sense of dread rising inside her.
When Jason Grant saw Sarah still frozen, he lost his temper even more.
"The fuck are you, deaf? Didn’t you hear what I said?"
As soon as the words fell, Jason Grant suddenly remembered something. He glanced at the hearing aid in Natalie’s ear, his eyes mocking: "Nat, look, you’re both alike—can’t hear, right?"
"You should’ve seen what Isaac looked like that night when he saw her. Tsk tsk."
Natalie’s face showed no emotion. She wasn’t fazed by the obvious provocation and quietly backed away another step.
Jason Grant laughed, "What are you doing, Nat? You don’t really think you can run, do you?"
Natalie turned her head and saw two bodyguards standing guard at the entrance.
"Go now!" Jason Grant snapped at Sarah again.
Sarah trembled, bit her lip, and could only turn to head upstairs.
But instead of following Jason Grant’s orders to fetch the thing, she ran straight to the room at the end of the hall.
"Young Master Vaughn!"
Isaac looked up at the sound, seeing Sarah run in, her face pale as a sheet.
"N-Natalie is downstairs."
"What did you say!" Isaac surged up instinctively, but his injuries and the dog chain around his neck kept him down.
As he struggled, not only did he fail to break free, he was yanked back by the chain’s recoil, falling helplessly onto the floor, his back slamming hard into the wall behind him.
"Young Master Vaughn! Are you alright?"
Sarah rushed over to help him.
Isaac twisted and grabbed her wrist, his bloodshot eyes boring into her: "You just said Natalie is downstairs?"
Sarah nodded. "Mr. Grant told me to, to..."
"What does he want to do to Natalie!"
"...He wants me to get that thing, to give Miss Kendall..."
Before Sarah could finish, veins popped at Isaac’s temple. He flew into a rage, clawing madly at the dog chain around his neck.
"Young Master Vaughn! Be careful!" The scene scared Sarah out of her wits. "Watch out, you’ll hurt yourself!"
But Isaac couldn’t possibly think about any of that now!
His mind was full of Natalie!
He absolutely couldn’t let anything happen to her!
He couldn’t let Jason Grant hurt her!
Downstairs.
Jason Grant lounged casually on the sofa, looking at Natalie the way a hunter looks at prey trapped in his snare, utterly smug and satisfied.
"Nat, don’t say I don’t care about you. In a moment, you’ll know what it feels like."
As he spoke, something crazed and sinister flashed through Jason Grant’s eyes.
"I promise, just one try and you’ll fall in love with it. You’ll never give it up. Ha!"
Natalie finally realized what Jason Grant intended to do.
She was instantly chilled to the bone, her hands and feet icy, a cold sweat breaking out down her spine.
She finally understood what a ridiculous, fatal mistake she’d made!
