Deceiving Her Ears: Ignoring Your Call-Chapter 165: Would You Only Come Out If I Smash Your Car?
Jason Grant, led by his bodyguards, walked up to the car.
When he saw Natalie Kendall inside, the corner of his mouth curled into a mocking, cold smile.
Well, well, someone I actually know. ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ท๐๐ซ๐๐ก.๐๐ธ๐ถ
He walked over to the driverโs side, reached out, and knocked on the window. His deep voice seeped into the car.
"Nat, long time no see. Since youโre here, come in and have a seat."
Natalie took a deep breath, steadied herself, lowered the window, and answered coolly, "No need."
Jason put his hand on the window frame, stopping her from rolling the window back up.
"No need to be so polite. Besides, itโs lateโA girl like you isnโt safe out here alone. Come on."
While speaking, he leaned closer, his breath reeking with alcohol and foulness, wafting straight at Natalie.
"We were almost married, after all. And with the way you and Isaac Vaughn are now, you really ought to call me Uncle."
His tone was playful, but something sinister flickered in his smile.
Seeing Natalie remain unmoved, Jason was gradually losing patience.
He tapped his fingers on the car door, joking but threatening, "What? If you wonโt come in when I ask nicely, should I have them smash your car to get you out?"
Jasonโs two bodyguards, one at the front, one at the back, fully blocked her escape route.
Natalie considered the possibility of gunning the car and barging through.
At this point, she knew she couldnโt overpower Jason.
Might as well play along, and see for herself whether Isaac Vaughn was really inside.
So she said coldly, "Move."
Jason smirked, "Thatโs better."
He stepped aside, watching Natalie duck out of the car, a dark look flickering in his eyes.
The two of them headed into the villa, one after the other.
When Sarah Sutton saw Natalie behind Jason, she froze for a moment.
Natalie too was startled when she saw her.
Jason noticed and grinned wider, slinging an arm around Sarah. He spoke to Natalie with a mocking, possessive tone: "Nat, let me introduce youโthis is the counterfeit."
Natalieโs expression stayed cold.
Sarahโs face turned pale.
Jason laughed, "Just kidding, relax."
As he spoke, he clamped a hand around Sarahโs chin, turning her tear-streaked face to Natalie. "Though Nat, you must admit she does look like you, right?"
Natalie didnโt reply.
Jason pulled Sarah onto the couch beside him, nodding his chin towards a seat: "Sit, Nat."
Natalie quietly surveyed the room.
Jason twisted Sarahโs hair in his fingers, suddenly yanking and making her scalp sting.
Sarah couldnโt help but cry out in pain.
Natalie frowned and looked over.
Jason met her eyes, "If Iโm not mistaken, Nat, you followed me here, didnโt you? Or is it that you still have feelings for me, looking to pick up where we left off?"
"Or is there someone else youโre looking for?"
With that, Natalie was certain.
Isaac Vaughn really was here.
Jason pushed Sarah aside, got up, and stepped in front of Natalie, half smiling: "Looking for Isaac?"
Natalie clenched her fists at her sides, not breaking eye contact: "So Isaacโs really here with you?"
"Heโs my nephew. Iโm his uncleโI just invited him over to hang out. Perfectly normal, donโt you think?"
When he said "hang out," Jason glanced at Sarah with deliberate meaning.
Natalie felt sickened.
She stepped back a few paces to put some distance between herself and Jason, voice cold: "Iโve already contacted Aunt Vanya. She should be here soon."
"So if Isaac really is here, youโd better let him go."
"Heh!" Jason sneered, eyes full of malice, "You really do care about Isaac! Canโt even protect yourself, but still worried about him?"
He turned to Sarah and ordered, "Go get the stuff!"
