Chapter 115: Chapter 115

Luminar Academy...

"Boss Aiden, is this true?" a male student wearing Luminar Academy’s first-year student attire asked.

The one the student addressed as Boss Aiden was wearing similar attire, but with some differences.

The male student’s attire looked plain, while Aiden’s attire had gold stitching at the ends. Also, there is an insignia on his chest, which is absent from the male student’s attire, clearly showing that Aiden was a superior to him.

This Boss Aiden is none other than Aiden Cross, who ranked second in the Alliance Exam. After the exam, he joined the Luminar Academy to show the world that he was the best in his generation, after Mary Hinters, not some upstart Death Mage.

After joining the Luminar Academy, as the top student, he gathered a lot of followers. That was a given, as whenever a genius appears, there would be many who would like to follow them.

Everywhere he goes, his followers follow him behind to do his bidding. This was not because they had too much time on their hands, nor was it because they are idiots and mindlessly following a young master.

No, the reason was that they knew that every genius was destined to reach the top ranks of human society. As long as nothing happens to the genius, that would be what they were destined for.

When that happens, these geniuses would also provide a better way of life for their followers, that is a given. Even if those geniuses are pricks and didn’t want to use their resources on others, they would still do so, as they would need someone to do things for them.

Whether one is a good person or a bad person, it matters not, as everyone would need helpers if they want to rise to the top and have power in their hands. No single person can do everything on their own.

They would need connections, allies and followers who would be willing to do the menial work. So, as the saying goes, when the top gets meat, the bottom feeders would get soup. The quality of the soup differs depending on who they follow.

If it were a generous master, the soup would be better and higher in quantity and quality. Even if it is not, what they get would be better than what they could get from going out into dangerous situations without proper resources.

By following a genius, they can get those resources easily, which would help them develop more easily and faster.

---

"It should be the case. If not, why would be professor announce this?" one of the other boys remarked.

The others nodded as well. That is true. There is no way that the professor would make a joke about such a thing.

"So, who do you think would most likely rank top?" one of them asked.

Another slapped the head of the one who asked the question, "Who could rank first other than our Boss Aiden?"

Hearing those words brought a smile to Aiden’s face, and he nodded at his followers as they understood him well.

"Hmm, it looks like the rewards for winning would be very high. What did the professor say? The rewards would be substantial enough to propel even a pig to the top within a short frame".

"From that single statement, one can understand that the rewards are very good. Unless that girl participates, it is given that those rewards are mine. With those, I can easily outshine my ancestor in the future", Aiden thought inside with a smirk appearing on his face.

To him, it was given that the rewards would be his. The only competition was the girl who awakened the SS-rank class. He learned that one of the human gods had taken her as her disciple.

So, there is a high chance that she would have reached a stage that he can’t touch.

Though Aiden’s mind was crooked, he was not an idiot. He understood that Mary had become untouchable at this point. With such grand protection behind her, there is no way that she would be at a lower level than him.

A few days ago, he reached Rank-2, the only one to reach the rank among the first-year students. After he reached rank-2, he reported to his master.

Yes, as soon as Aiden entered the academy, there was a clash among the professors to see who would become his master. This was common, as professors would clamour for disciples with good talent.

Disciples with better talents have chances to reach a higher stage when compared to others, and that means, as their master, they would also get to be famous alongside their students.

So, whenever a talented one appears, the professors would fight each other to get those students to accept them as their master.

Aiden chose a professor who has a profession similar to his, but a bit different. He felt that among all, this one would be best suited for him, and he was right.

With his master’s teachings, he reached Rank-2 faster than anyone.

This was what his master told him when Aiden told his master that he had reached Rank-2.

His master told him that Aiden was the fastest to reach Rank-2 in the entire academy, but he also said that the fastest in the alliance was held by one of the Human gods. That was understandable as they awakened the SS-rank class.

In the current generation, if one doesn’t take Mary Hinters into consideration, Aiden should be the fastest one to reach Rank-2 according to his master

This is why Aiden was so sure that those rewards would be his as long as Mary didn’t participate in the tournament.

---

"Ah, yes, what Boss Aiden said was true. He would be the top ranker as long as the girl doesn’t appear", some of the followers affirmed the declaration about Aiden’s win.

"Hmm, what about that Death Mage who ranked first in the alliance exam?" one of them raised a doubt.

Hearing those words angered Aiden a bit. The first rank in the alliance exam was supposed to be his, with the absence of Mary Hinters, but some upstart Death Mage took that rank.

He came here in order to improve faster than him and show the world that he is the top of the current generation, not that Death Mage.

Now, hearing about the Death Mage from one of his followers angered him. This was quickly caught by others, and they put distance between themselves and the idiot who raised the question.

The one who raised the question immediately understood that he had said something that he shouldn’t have.

He immediately kneeled before Aiden, "Boss, forgive me. I spoke wrongly", he wailed, hoping that Aiden wouldn’t punish him.

Aidem was known to punish his followers severely if they failed to execute his tasks assigned to them.

Failing to do an assigned task was one thing, but doubting the Boss’s chances of winning the tournament was entirely a different thing. It would be similar to slapping him. The punishment would be severe, and everyone understood that.

It was why they moved away from the idiot who raised the question.

Aiden didn’t make a move. They were still in the class. Though most of the students left and there was no one who could stop him, he didn’t want to taint his name among the populace. So, he walked away from the class without doing anything but his followers knew what would happen later.

The one who rasied the question gulped in fear about what’s coming his way but he knew there was no escape.
