Daughter of oblivion: Claimed by four alpha(s)-Chapter 168 - 166: Athena has been caught red handed
Chapter 166: Athena has been caught red handed...
She squeezed her eyes shut for a second, then opened them again, meeting his gaze. "And that’s the problem. Because when I’m with you, nothing else matters. Not even myself."
Her breath hitched. "And I hate that I can’t stop wanting you."
For a moment, Eryx just stared at her. Then his expression softened completely. Disbelief flasbed through his eyes. A slow smile spread across his face, wide and unguarded, like someone who had just been handed everything he’d ever wished for and more.
Like the moon goddess herself had looked down and said ’here... this is yours.’
"Do you have any idea," he murmured, "what it means to hear that from you?"
His thumb brushed gently along her jaw, carefully. "You just confessed like it was a sin," he said softly. "When to me it sounds like a blessing."
He leaned in, resting his forehead against hers, still smiling like the world had finally tilted in his favor. "I don’t need perfection Athena. I don’t need you to be right. I just need you wanting me."
His eyes searched hers, warm and shining. "And gods, Athena... you have no idea how long I’ve waited to hear that."
Eryx’s vision blurred slightly but he laugh it off. Without hesitation, he swept her into his arms.
Athena melted against him, her chest pressed to his as her arms wrapping around his neck as they hugged tightly. For a long moment, they simply held each other, their heart beating in sync.
She felt every little shift of his body, every inhale and exhale, and for once, she allowed herself to just be with him. Even if it’s just for a few minutes.
Suddenly, Eryx straightened slightly, pulling back just enough to look at her with a sly, grin. "I should probably go before Azrael murders me for sneaking up on his mate in the middle of the night," he said, his voice low but Athena didn’t miss the guilt in it.
Athena laughed softly. "You might be right about that," she teased, shaking her head.
Eryx’s grin widened, and he bent slightly, grabbing her panties from where they had fallen on the floor.
"Come on," he said, as he spread the fabric. "We need to fix this before you start getting chilly."
Athena felt a flush creep up her cheeks. The thought of him crouching down, helping her with something so private, made her feel shy,.but in the same moment, it felt intimate and caring, and she let him without hesitation.
He carefully guided her to slide down the counter, crouch low, and gently helped her step into her panties.
His movements were respectful, and Athena couldn’t help but giggle softly at the absurdity of it, yet her heart fluttered at how tenderly he treated her.
Once they were on, Eryx stood back up, towering over her with that mischievous, smile. Without warning, he planted soft kisses all over her face... forehead, cheeks, nose, even the tip of her chin.
Athena giggled uncontrollably, swatting at him playfully but unable to hide her delight.
Finally, he released her, stepping back and giving her a little bow, like a knight finishing a task. "Bye, Athena," he said, voice light and teasing.
Athena waved at him, her cheeks still flushed and lips curved in a soft, dreamy smile. "Bye, Eryx," she replied, and watched him disappear into the thin air.
It felt so strange, seeing a person disappear like that. But who care?
For a few moments, she just stood there, feeling the warmth of him still lingering in the air, a gentle smile tugging at her lips, the memory of his closeness replaying in her mind.
"Get a grib Athena." She scolded herself.
She turn around, grabbed the jug and moved out of the kitchen. Suddenly she number into Azrael.
She heart dropped to her stomach.
"Y-You’re awake?" she stammered, clutching the jug to her chest like it could shield her from what was about to happen.
Did he see them? Fuck she was a dead meat if he actually saw them?
Azrael’s up unreadable gaze swept over her. "Where were you?"
"I..." she swallowed, her voice shaky, despite her trying to steady it. "I... I came to get... water."
His expression softened, but there was still something unsettled in his eyes. He stepped closer, lowering his voice. "I woke up and you weren’t beside me."
Athena’s chest tightened at that. "I didn’t want to wake you. I’m sorry."
Azrael lifted his hand and gently tugged a loose strand of hair away from her face, tucking it behind her ear. His fingers lingered there, warm against her skin.
"How are you feeling?" he asked quietly.
She nodded, forcing a small smile as guilt tore her apart. "Better. I really am."
He studied her like he was trying to read between the lines, then exhaled slowly. "I’ve been thinking... for a while now." His thumb brushed lightly against her cheek. "We should go on a vacation Just you and me."
Athena blinked. "A vacation?" She hesitated. "But what about the exams? We’re supposed to be preparing..."
"I’ll help you," he interrupted gently. "We’ll study together. I promise." His lips curved into a reassuring smile. "You don’t have to worry about anything."
She searched his face, then finally nodded. "Okay."
Azrael’s eyes softened even more. "Tomorrow, then."
Her eyes widened. "Tomorrow?"
He nodded like it was already decided. "Tomorrow."
Before she could say anything else, he guided her forward, one arm slipping around her shoulders as he turned her toward the stairs.
"Come on," he murmured, steering her back upstairs. "You need rest."
Athena glanced at him sideways, and he smiled softly at her.
Why does she feel like Azrael was acting strange. His smiling face was being to scare her real bad.
What if he saw them and was just pretending?
As much as she wants Eryx... She wants Azrael too and she doesn’t want to lose him either.
She would die if he leave her. Her heart can’t take that much.
