Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 98: He Is Still Troubled by Love
Hearing Leia Quinn’s words, Elara Don’s face was full of gossip.
"Elly, I’m dying of curiosity, quickly tell me, how did you meet Craig Landers?"
In the club, watching the two of them going back and forth, her curiosity was unbearable.
Now that they’re back, she’s eager to hear the gossip.
"He once did psychological consultations abroad. Coincidentally, I was an intern at the time, and he was my mentor’s patient."
Leia Quinn took a sip of water and said calmly.
Craig Landers, such a dashing person, actually needed to do psychological consultations!
Leia Quinn was surprised, "No way! Why did he need psychological consultations? What kind of issues was he consulting for?"
"Emotional."
The two words made Elara Don’s eyes widen even more.
"Emotional issues? Could it be that he’s troubled by love?"
Impossible!
This Craig Landers is surrounded by beauties every day; he doesn’t seem like someone lacking in love.
"Elly, I’m a doctor. Talking to you about a patient’s privacy like this is unethical, isn’t it?"
Leia Quinn put down the water cup, yawned, and prepared to head back to the room.
"Kiki, stop keeping people in suspense."
Elara Don latched onto her, smiling ingratiatingly, "He wasn’t even your patient! You were just an intern at the time. Now, talking to me is nothing more than girlfriends gossiping."
Just started the topic, how can she sleep well tonight without hearing it all?
Leia Quinn shook off her paw, saying as she walked: "I only know that the woman he liked married his brother. He couldn’t get over it, so he sought psychological counseling. After that, he started living recklessly."
So that’s how it is!
A bit melodramatic, and a bit unexpected.
Elara Don suddenly realized, "Didn’t expect Craig Landers to be such a romantic?"
"Romantic? Elly, don’t be ridiculous."
Leia Quinn sneered, "People can be passionate, but using it as an excuse to change girlfriends more often than clothes? That’s not being passionate, that’s being wanton."
"Maybe he’s just using it as an outlet to disguise his inner emptiness?"
Elara Don blinked, finding an explanation for Craig Landers’ behavior.
"What you say isn’t without reason, but I just find such men immature."
Leia Quinn scoffed: "A man who can’t even restrain himself and acts like a stud every day isn’t a real man."
Elara Don: "..."
These words are a bit exaggerated, but she can understand them.
"Elly, you’re too rational."
Leia Quinn is an emotionally delicate, yet extremely rational woman.
In the world of emotions, she favors a man who is emotionally faithful and, like her, rational and restrained.
Not a man and a woman together, thinking about nothing else every day.
She seeks spiritual harmony more.
So, after discovering her first boyfriend cheated on her due to her restraint, she never dated again.
"Yeah, maybe it’s because of this rationality that I’m not likable."
Leia Quinn curled her lips, self-deprecating.
Hearing this, Elara Don was shocked and quickly said, "Kiki, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it, I..."
"What are you apologizing for? What did you do to me?"
Leia Quinn gave her a sidelong glance and pushed her toward the house.
"Alright, go wash up and sleep. Tomorrow’s my first day at work, I need to be full of energy and put passion into my work. What’s so interesting about men? Isn’t working hard to earn money to support my godson more satisfying?"
Guffaw!
Her best friend!
She really makes her feel both love and affection.
"Yes, yes, very satisfying. Bea is really lucky to have a godmother like you."
"Hmm, glad you know. I hope that when I get old, he can take care of me."
"Of course!"
"..."
The two joked a bit more, then each went to freshen up.
Watching Leia Quinn enter the bathroom as if nothing was wrong, Elara Don curled her lips.
Her friend is such a great woman, she really hopes her Mr. Right shows up soon.
Beep, a message comes in on the phone.
Elara Don glanced at it, eyes blinking.
"Are you asleep?"
It’s a message from Tom.
Asking if she’s asleep?
What does he want?
Elara Don replied, "About to sleep."
"Goodnight."
Just those plain words, and it’s over.
Texting her in the middle of the night just to say goodnight?
Her heart had a slight ripple, inexplicably giving the illusion of being in a relationship.
Flashes of the man on stage, playing and singing to her, crossed her mind.
So handsome!
Elara Don curved her lips and tossed the phone aside.
The next day. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
The aroma of food wafted through the air.
Elara Don, somewhat absent-minded, finished making breakfast and ran to the window to look down.
"Morning, Elly."
Leia Quinn yawned as she came out of the bedroom.
"Morning."
Elara Don retracted her gaze and replied with one word.
"What are you looking at by the window? Are you waiting for someone?"
Leia Quinn teased upon seeing Elara Don’s behavior.
"No, you’re talking nonsense."
Elara Don adamantly denied it.
Leia Quinn raised an elegant brow, just about to tease a couple more sentences when her nose twitched, "What’s that smell?"
"Oh no, my egg custard!"
Elara Don hurried into the kitchen and turned off the low flame that was still on.
"Tsk tsk, still say you’re not waiting for someone? You’re so distracted you can’t even make breakfast right."
Leia Quinn crossed her arms, teasingly.
"I’m really not waiting for him, it’s just..."
"Mommy, godmother, morning."
Dominic Hawke, wearing cartoon pajamas, emerged from the children’s room and greeted the two.
"Morning, Bea."
Elara Don smiled and returned Dominic Hawke’s greeting, then tugged on Leia Quinn’s sleeve, whispering, "Don’t talk nonsense in front of Bea, I don’t want him to know about Tom’s existence."
She’s not familiar enough with that man yet and doesn’t want her son to know who his biological father is.
So she just now looked out the window, afraid the man would wait for her early in the morning.
"Got it."
Leia Quinn gave her a reassuring look, and after greeting Dominic Hawke, she went into the bathroom to wash up.
Elara Don walked up to Dominic Hawke and ruffled his small head.
"Bea, did you sleep well last night?"
"Yes, I slept great."
Dominic Hawke looked at Elara Don and asked, "Mommy, are you waiting for someone?"
Godmother’s voice was a bit loud, he heard it all!
"Huh? No! I was just checking the weather today."
Elara Don changed the subject, taking the little guy’s hand, "Alright, mommy will take you to freshen up."
"Mommy, I want a hug."
Dominic Hawke turned to hug Elara Don’s thigh.
Waaah, he’s about to part with Aunt Charlotte Soo again.
So reluctant.
"This kid, acting spoiled again."
Elara Don’s heart softened, and she scooped him up, "Here, mommy will hug you! Wow, Bea, have you gained weight?"
"Uh, then mommy please put me down, you’ll get tired."
"Haha, it’s fine! Even if you gain ten more pounds, mommy can still carry you."
"Mommy, wait for me to grow up."
No matter where he’ll go after growing up, he’ll take care of her!
