R&D Department.

Elara Don found an ointment and applied it to Elena Soo’s scratched arm.

"I can do it myself."

"It’s okay, I’ll help you."

Elara gently applied the ointment to the wound.

The woman’s skin was fair and delicate, her demeanor refined and elegant, making her very likable.

Elena’s eyes flickered, and she looked away, "Charlotte, aren’t you going to ask about my situation?"

Elara finished applying the ointment and screwed the lid back on.

"Everyone has their secrets. If you want to talk, I’ll be a quiet listener."

She wasn’t very familiar with Elena. She just helped because they were colleagues.

After all, Elena had spoken a word for her before.

Elena looked steadily at Elara, wanting to speak but hesitating.

Elara took a tissue to wipe her hands, and seeing Elena remained silent, she smiled, "Okay, if you find it difficult, speak when it’s convenient. Come, join me in washing up, and then we’ll get back to work."

She was very casual.

Elena bit her lip and lowered her eyes to hide her emotions.

CEO’s Office.

Damon Hawke was in a good mood.

His usually calm handsome face wore a faint smile.

She said she loved him very much.

Well, he heard her.

He hoped she would always remember what she said.

The phone on the desk rang.

Damon slightly turned his head, and upon seeing the caller ID, his elegant eyebrows raised, and he smiled.

It was Bea calling!

When picking up the call, he softened his voice, "Bea?"

"Yeah, Uncle Hawke, have you decided not to pursue my mommy anymore?"

On the other end, Dominic Hawke was hiding in a corner, asking quite seriously.

"Why would that be?"

"But if you still want to pursue my mommy, why aren’t you picking me up from school? Don’t you know mommy has a new suitor?"

He was so anxious!

Aunt Charlotte seemed uninterested in Dad, and now, there’s a new suitor.

If Dad doesn’t try harder, what should be done?

"Bea, do you like me that much?"

Damon leaned back in his chair, asking with interest.

"Yep, you’re handsome and rich. I hope you can be with my mommy. That way, mommy won’t be bullied anymore."

Oh, Dad, your son is really worried about your future!

Dominic clutched his small phone, secretly grumbling in his heart.

"I know, don’t worry, I promise you, your mommy will definitely be with me."

He would make her fall in love with him and then unable to leave him!

Damon curled his lips, his deep dark eyes filled with determined arrogance.

"Really? Uncle Hawke, make sure you try hard! I’ll always support you."

Go, Dad!

Fight on!

Dominic clenched his little fist, making a cheering gesture, feeling slightly reassured.

Dad gave his word; he would definitely follow through!

He had to trust him!

On the other end, Damon hung up the phone, his eyes carrying a long-lasting smile.

Being so liked by a child, it really lifted his spirits.

Someone really ought to listen to their child’s feelings.

The knocking sound interrupted Damon’s thoughts.

The smile on his face slightly receded, returning to his usual aloofness.

"Come in."

Sophie Harper entered.

She handed over two documents, "Mr. Hawke, please sign."

Damon glanced at her, took the pen and signed his bold signature.

The man’s presence was as powerful as ever, so much so that even sitting, he made one hesitate to breathe deeply in his presence.

Sophie held her breath, waiting for him to finish signing, and asked respectfully, "Mr. Hawke, will you be attending tonight’s dinner?"

Tonight, an overseas long-term partner was visiting. Usually, at such high-level dinners, Damon needed to attend.

However, this partner was notoriously fond of women, a style Damon greatly disliked.

Whenever this partner visited, Damon would avoid him if he could.

As expected, upon hearing this, Damon frowned slightly, with a hint of annoyance in his eyes.

"No, have the PR Department handle it, and make sure it’s well-arranged."

"Okay."

After reporting, Sophie, holding the documents, prepared to leave.

"Wait a minute."

From behind came Damon’s call.

Sophie turned back and heard Damon say, "Secretary Ford, how many years have you been with the company?"

Why was he asking this?

Was he thinking of her good service and planning to return her to her original position?

Sophie’s heart fluttered, and she replied a bit aggrievedly, "Answering Mr. Hawke, from the moment I graduated, I joined the Hawke Corporation, and it’s been almost four years."

She had worked diligently at Hawke Corporation, finally securing the position of chief secretary.

She hadn’t expected to be demoted because of Elara Don.

She was still feeling dissatisfied inside!

"Four years already? Time indeed flies, no wonder Secretary Ford might feel superior."

Damon’s slender fingers tapped rhythmically on the desk, and amidst Sophie’s surprise, he continued, "Secretary Ford, remember what Elara Don said, be careful of the trouble your words might invite."

The man’s demeanor was somewhat cold, and his tone, though not severe, carried a hint of warning.

Sophie only felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured over her, chilling her from head to toe.

She had thought he was going to restore her original position, but to her surprise, he was only warning her on behalf of Elara Don!

Just because she had mocked Elara at the elevator a few moments ago?

That Elara Don clearly didn’t care about him, so why was he still maintaining her position!

"Leave."

After saying this, Damon ignored her and focused on his work.

Sophie clenched her fist, bit her lip, and looked unsatisfied.

"Yes."

She turned, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

Elara Don, it was all her fault!

She would make her pay!

After all, she had Vinny Hawke backing her!

The door closed, Damon’s actions paused slightly, his thin lips tightened.

Sophie should be grateful; as an old employee, she had contributed to Hawke Corporation.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t just be a warning and demotion.

R&D Department.

Elara looked at Sophie’s stern face and frowned, "Secretary Ford, you must be mistaken, I’m just a perfumer. Why do I have to attend the dinner tonight to host guests?"

Isn’t this kind of thing supposed to be handled by the PR Department?

When did perfumers also have to entertain guests?

"Charlotte, first, I’m here to notify you, not to seek your opinion. Second, this partner is a rather important supplier for the Hawke Group, and the meeting involves some product expertise, requiring professionals to be present. Charlotte, since you’re working at Hawke Group, you need to follow orders."

The words were spoken so frankly that she couldn’t argue back.

Elara watched as Sophie finished speaking and turned away, her red lips tightly set.

Sophie was deliberately making things difficult for her!

There must be something suspicious about tonight’s dinner.

Elara thought it over and reached for her phone to send a message to Leia Quinn.

"Chloe, help me pick up Bea this afternoon, and I need a favor tonight..."
