Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 390: Did You Forget to Take Me with You?
"Elly, forget it. I’m bound to return with him sooner or later. He’s a filial son, afraid that my departure would hurt his mother again, and I can understand that."
Sarah paused, "Besides, I don’t want to stay in Sea City any longer."
Craig Landers had his eyes on her, staring so much that it unsettled her.
Better to leave and avoid seeing him.
"But I don’t want to part with you so soon."
Amelia Miles furrowed her delicate brows tightly.
"We can video chat in the future."
Sarah smiled reassuringly, "Alright, bring Mr. Hawke over tomorrow morning, I’ll hypnotize him one last time before I leave."
Amelia remained silent, her expression clearly displeased.
Sarah comforted her a few more times, and Amelia went downstairs to return to Damon Hawke.
At that moment, Craig Landers was still in the private room, talking with Damon Hawke.
Seeing Amelia return, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Your expression doesn’t seem right; couldn’t persuade Frost Moore to stay?"
Amelia glanced at him, not wanting to engage.
It was all because of him that Sarah had to leave immediately.
"I won’t let her leave here."
Craig Landers suddenly said and then got up to leave.
Amelia was stunned, watching his departing figure, hesitant to speak.
He said he wouldn’t let Sarah leave here.
That’s exactly what she wanted to see happen.
But if Sarah stays, won’t she be harassed by him all the time?
Sarah wouldn’t be pleased.
So, should she let Sarah stay?
So torn.
"Mind your own business."
Someone wrapped an arm around her waist, and a deep voice rang in her ear.
Amelia returned to her senses, looking at Damon’s handsome jawline, her heart softened.
She turned around and hugged his waist, nuzzling her head against his chest.
"Tom, thank goodness you’re alright."
How long has it been since she held him?
She missed his embrace so much!
...
During the celebration.
Serena Wells still insisted on completing the leading dance routine.
After the performance ended, Benjamin Harper wore an expression of concern.
"Annie, your foot seems more swollen, you need to go back to the hospital to have it rebandaged."
Hearing this, Serena quickly said, "Brother Evan, it’s okay, I have a handle on it. I often get injured during practice; I’ll handle it myself when I go back."
She didn’t want to keep bothering Benjamin, even though her foot did hurt more.
Benjamin furrowed his brows slightly and seeing her determined look, he compromised, "Alright, let me take you back now."
"Huh?"
Serena was stunned, not reacting immediately.
Ru Townsend, who had just returned backstage from the restroom, heard this and her expression changed.
"Evan, you’re leaving? But the event isn’t over yet."
"Our segment is done, I have things to do, so I’ll go ahead."
Benjamin said calmly, then supported Serena as they walked out.
Serena felt warm inside, leaning against Benjamin’s side, gingerly moving her steps.
Benjamin, seeing this, simply lifted her up in a princess carry.
Serena took a small breath, a faint blush crossing her face.
"Brother Evan, I can walk myself."
He was carrying her again!
It felt like a dream!
"I’m in a hurry, you walk too slowly."
Benjamin replied, carrying Serena steadily out of the resting area.
Louisa Talbot watched the pair leave, her fingernails digging into her flesh tightly.
That commoner Serena pretending to be weak to garner sympathy.
And the opportunity for sympathy was one she offered herself!
How infuriating!
Outside, Benjamin placed Serena in the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt.
Then he opened the driver’s side door and started the car.
Serena’s eyes were filled with bubbles of happiness.
She pulled at the seatbelt across her chest, looking at Benjamin’s handsome side profile, her heart beating wildly.
"Do you really not need to go to the hospital?"
The car was steadily moving, and Benjamin asked, still concerned.
"No need, really."
Serena replied quickly.
Benjamin nodded, glancing at the time on his wrist.
Today Amelia was going home, so once he dropped off Serena, he would return to meet her.
Thinking of Amelia, a smile flashed in Benjamin’s eyes.
Serena noticed his action and thought of him saying he was in a hurry, she asked, "Brother Evan, did you have an appointment with someone to discuss things? If you’re in a rush, you can drop me on the roadside, and I’ll take a cab home."
Hearing this, Benjamin curved his lips slightly, "It’s okay, there’s no rush. I’m just going back to see Elly."
So he was anxious to go back to see Amelia?
No wonder he was smiling so gently just now.
Serena pursed her lips, thinking about what her father did to Amelia’s mother, her heart flashed with unease.
"Brother Evan, my dad made a mistake. Do you think Sister Amelia would blame me?"
People say debts of the father are paid by the son.
Come to think of it, she was the daughter of the woman who killed Amelia’s mother.
Would Amelia hold a grudge against her?
"Don’t worry, Elly is a kind-hearted person. What your father did has nothing to do with you, she won’t take it out on you."
Benjamin looked at Serena, seeing her anxious look, and reassured her.
He believed in Amelia that much.
Hoping Amelia wouldn’t take it out on her.
Serena bit her lip, looking at the scenery outside.
Benjamin soon delivered Serena to her home.
"Brother Evan, would you like to come in and sit for a while?"
Serena opened the door, asking softly.
"No, I’ll head off, you rest well." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Benjamin smiled, turning to leave.
Serena watched his back, tightening her grip on the door frame slightly.
Sighing softly, she hopped on one leg to the sofa.
He was a superstar, while she was the daughter of a murderer; what more could she hope for?
Him treating her as a friend was already her greatest fortune.
Benjamin returned to his car, thinking for a while, and then took out his phone to call Amelia.
"Elly, where are you now? Do you need me to pick you up?"
On the other end, Amelia was with Damon, heading to pick up their son from kindergarten.
Hearing Benjamin, she laughed, "No need, I’ll pick up Charlie and Bea and head back."
"Okay, then I’ll wait for you at home."
Benjamin didn’t insist, hanging up and starting the car.
On the other end, Damon raised an eyebrow, looking at the woman beside him.
"Going back to your parents’ house today?"
The heartless woman, won’t even take him back to her parents’ house?
"Yeah, the boys haven’t met their grandpa yet. I’ll take them back to meet my dad."
Amelia closed her phone, replying casually.
The kindergarten was not far away.
There were more cars around.
Damon parked on the side of the road and approached Amelia as she was unbuckling her seatbelt.
"Elly, aren’t you forgetting something?"
His handsome face suddenly loomed closer, his intonation carrying a hint of coaxing.
Amelia blinked, a tingling spreading down her spine.
Her voice unwittingly turned coquettish, "What?"
Damon curved his lips, his distinct hands grabbing her slender hand, placing it on his chest.
"Did you forget to take me with you?"
