Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 355: Let Them Have Their Way
The police officers inspected the ship, but of course, they didn’t find any problems.
After they left, Amelia Miles was still in a state of shock.
Analyzing the whole incident carefully, she couldn’t help but shiver.
There had to be a conspiracy in today’s events.
The medical supplies transported on the ship must not have been just medical supplies; there were things that could have gotten her detained by the police.
If the Netherworld Organization hadn’t shown up and snatched her supplies, she might have been arrested for shipping contraband by now!
What on earth was going on?
Who was pulling the strings behind the scenes?
Surely it was people like Gavin Miles!
Luckily, with the appearance of the Netherworld Organization, she got some secret help, leaving her safe and sound.
Was it Damon Hawke who was secretly helping her through the Netherworld Organization?
If it was him, how could he not have given her a heads-up?
At least let her be mentally prepared!
Amelia felt both touched and annoyed; she took out her phone wanting to call Damon Hawke.
But just as she took out her phone, she changed her mind and put off the call.
She mustn’t forget that Damon had Victoria Don by his side.
If she rashly called Damon and Victoria found out he helped her, she would definitely become suspicious.
He now loathed her to the core; suddenly helping her was abnormal.
People like Victoria are always insidious, and if they did something to Damon, the situation would be even less favorable.
With these thoughts, Amelia put her phone away and blinked her almond-shaped eyes.
Her goods had been snatched by the Netherworld Organization, so she should now act furious and then go home to have a big argument with Damon!
Hawke Family’s old mansion.
Damon Hawke sat in the study, receiving a message from Chase Quinn, knowing things were settled.
He curled his lips slightly, seeing no other messages on the phone, his eyes flickered a bit.
Since he knew the Netherworld Organization caused trouble, that certain someone sure kept calm, not calling to question him?
He wondered if that someone’s little brain was smart enough to figure out the twists and turns.
Damon put away the phone and left the study to go downstairs for a drink of water.
"Tom."
Victoria Don happened to come out of a room, her eyes lit up when she saw Damon, and she walked toward him sweetly and softly.
Damon suppressed the strange look in his eyes and smiled slightly at her.
"Haven’t slept yet?"
"I couldn’t sleep, I’m so tired. Tom, can I sit in your room for a while?"
Victoria wanted to approach Damon, but she was suddenly stopped by the bodyguards.
She halted, pouting toward Damon with a look of grievance.
Damon feared her tears, quickly glancing at the bodyguards with a stern face.
"Get lost."
The bodyguards exchanged glances, hesitated, and then moved aside under Damon’s intimidation.
Victoria’s face was filled with smugness as she gracefully walked to Damon’s side and took his arm.
"Tom, they’re really annoying, always stopping me from getting close to you. Luckily, you can see through it all."
Damon’s thin lips lightly pressed together, and a hint of ridicule flashed in his eyes.
He subtly removed her hand, "I’m going downstairs for some water."
"I’ll come with you."
Victoria, in high spirits, followed him downstairs.
At that moment, Amelia Miles returned.
When she saw Damon, she marched up to him furiously and gave him a hard push.
"It’s you, isn’t it? You’re the one who ordered the attack on the Grant Family’s ship at sea, aren’t you? Damon Hawke, even if you hate me, you can’t mix personal feelings with business!"
Damon stumbled, barely managing to steady himself.
His dark eyes squinted slightly, and a playful glimmer passed through them as he looked at Amelia’s tense, pretty face, her anger almost palpable.
Was this woman acting for him, or was she genuinely furious?
If she was truly furious, he could only curse her as a foolish woman.
"Amelia Miles, what nonsense are you spouting? I have no idea what you’re talking about."
Damon deliberately kept a cold face, tidying his attire.
"Damon Hawke, stop pretending! I never thought that just one fall would turn you into an idiot!"
Amelia pretended to be both angry and hurt, "Is the one you love now Victoria Don? Tell me, did you use the Netherworld Organization against the Grant Family because she whispered in your ear? I was in charge of this project; do you want me to step down from being the head of Grant Family?"
Victoria stood there in a daze, slowly coming to her senses as she listened to Amelia’s words.
Although she was clueless about the situation, seeing Amelia’s heartbroken and furious expression made her happy.
With that thought, Victoria smiled smugly.
"Amelia Miles, at least you have some self-awareness now. Tom’s most beloved person is me, and even if everyone opposes him being with me, he won’t compromise."
"You..."
Amelia looked at Victoria, then Damon, with reddened eyes, and ran upstairs angrily.
"Fine, I’ve had enough; I’ll make it easy for you."
Damon kept silent, just watching Amelia’s reddened eyes, a peculiar sensation crossing his mind.
Was that the feeling known as heartbreak?
What had she just said?
She would make it easy for them?
Was this real or fake!
If it was real, then things would get out of hand!
"Tom, what’s going on? What did Amelia Miles mean by that?"
Once Amelia went upstairs, Victoria was full of excitement.
Amelia said she would make it easy for her and Damon.
This was simply fantastic news.
"I don’t like her, so I thought of having someone sabotage her project, this way, we won’t have any professional overlap in the future."
Damon glanced at Victoria, responding in a flat tone.
Victoria couldn’t be happier.
Damon was completely under her control.
The feeling of controlling someone else’s life was truly awesome!
"Tom, why don’t we leave the old mansion and go back to your villa? That way, we can have more time alone together."
Victoria’s hand slowly moved to Damon’s chest, casting him a flirtatious glance.
His body should be almost recovered; shouldn’t she do something with him?
In the Hawke Family’s old mansion, she was constantly watched and couldn’t do anything with him.
She had to coax Damon into taking her away from here.
"Let’s wait a little longer, once I’m almost fully recovered, we’ll go back to our villa."
Damon’s eyes flickered slightly, pulling her hand away and coughing lightly with his fist against his lips.
Go back to their villa with her?
It was dark, and she was starting to dream!
"Tom..."
Victoria was about to persuade him further when a message came on her phone.
She paused, glanced at her phone.
It was a message from Gavin Miles.
Telling her to call him back when she had time.
Victoria’s eyes flickered, seeing Damon drinking water, she swallowed whatever words she had.
"Tom, you get some rest early, I’ll go upstairs first."
Gavin looked for her, unaware of what it was about.
Maybe it had something to do with what Amelia just said.
Listen to the news first.
