Chapter 343: Chapter 343: Gu Poisoned

"Grandpa, Grandma, please take Dad to the hospital. He’s seriously ill."

Bea saw Damon Hawke holding Victoria Don and immediately said angrily.

Vinny Hawke and Andrew King both responded with a nod and got up at the same time.

Dominic Hawke said nothing, his little face cool and composed, as he walked toward Damon Hawke.

Reaching his side, the little guy looked up at Damon, "Dad, let’s go. Once you see the doctor, your right brain can be cured, so you won’t mistake fish eyes for pearls anymore."

His son was mocking him.

Damon lowered his eyes to meet his cool little face, his heart inexplicably softening.

Just as he was about to speak, Victoria Don chimed in, "Tom is almost fully recovered. There’s no need for another hospital check-up. What he needs now is restful recuperation, but I feel the old house is too crowded for that. So, Damon, let’s return to your villa."

These Hawke Family people, just seeing them makes me angry.

Really want to leave here right now.

"Victoria Don, he’s one of the Hawthorne, it’s not your place as an outsider to decide if he needs a check-up or where he should recuperate."

Vinny Hawke glared at Victoria Don and said coldly, "What, you don’t want us to take Damon to the hospital for an examination because you’re afraid it’ll reveal the tricks you played on him?"

Victoria Don’s eyes flickered, and she replied, "Vinny, don’t make baseless accusations, I..."

"Who’s your Vinny? Call me Mrs. King."

Vinny Hawke reprimanded her coldly, then looked at Dominic Hawke and Bea.

"Charlie, Bea, take your dad to the hospital."

"Okay."

The two kids responded in unison, forcefully pushed Victoria Don aside, and each held one of Damon’s hands, leading him to the villa entrance.

Their little hands holding his big one brought a different kind of warmth.

Damon raised an eyebrow but let the two kids lead him away.

"Tom..."

"Shut up, you con artist!"

Quick-tempered Helen immediately snapped at Victoria Don as soon as she opened her mouth, scolding her harshly.

Victoria Don was taken aback and glared at Helen’s mocking face, a flash of anger in her eyes.

She chuckled coldly, "Hmph, do you really not know? You’re just a stand-in, what’s the point of making such a fuss?"

Helen glared back, rolling up her sleeves, "Victoria Don, was that coffee I just spilled not hot enough for you? Do you want me to ruin your face and turn you into the ugliest fox ever?"

"You... you shrew!"

Victoria Don recoiled in shock, remembering the coffee, and quickly stepped back a few paces, cradling her face warily.

That shrew, it’s best not to provoke her.

"Hmph, don’t you know how to talk to people like a person and to ghosts like a ghost? Do we really need to show any manners when dealing with a shameless con artist like you?"

Helen glanced left and right, seemingly looking for something to throw at her.

Victoria Don quickly ran outside, "Shrew, lunatic, Tom, wait for me!"

Outside, Damon had already gotten into the car with the kids.

The car sped off quickly.

Victoria Don ran out of the villa, only to see the car driving further away.

She was instantly furious and angry.

Those damn kids, she wanted to hit them!

Elara Don and the others all came out and got into their cars to leave.

Victoria Don was left alone, her face contorted with anger, as she hurriedly took out her phone to call for someone to come pick her up.

Fortunately, her people were always on standby.

After getting her call, they quickly drove over.

Crestview Hospital.

The doctors awaited orders and had been standing at the door awaiting Damon’s arrival.

When his car arrived, the director quickly ran over to open the car door for him, welcoming him respectfully.

Then several medical staff surrounded him, escorting him to the examination room.

The two kids followed behind, escorted by bodyguards, resembling a fan club for their father.

Not long after, the rest of the Hawke Family arrived.

Everyone stood in the hallway, and Elara Don first had the bodyguards take the brothers to school, then the rest waited quietly for the examination results.

The two brothers, although reluctant to leave, were eventually carried away by the bodyguards.

Half an hour later, Victoria Don hurriedly arrived.

She looked at the waiting Hawke Family members and Elara Don, an ironic smile on her lips.

Go ahead with your exams.

The Gu she placed on Damon Hawke was ancient witchcraft, something she stumbled upon during a film shoot in Vexia.

This Gu, over time, merges with the body and cannot be easily detected through regular hospital tests.

Unless...

At this moment, the door to the examination room opened.

The director and several medical staff walked out.

Elara Don and the waiting Hawke Family members rushed to greet them.

"Director, what’s the condition of Damon’s health now?"

Elder Hawthorne inquired.

"While Mr. Hawke has suffered severe injuries, he’s out of any immediate danger. As long as he rests well, he will be fine."

The director removed his mask and reported respectfully.

"Director, he fell off a cliff, and it’s only been seven or eight days, and he’s already out of danger?"

Elara Don furrowed her brows deeply, raising her doubts.

"Indeed, we too were puzzled by this. Mr. Hawke’s recovery ability seems to be stronger than others."

The director hesitated for a moment and replied.

Elara Don felt her heart tighten and looked at Vinny Hawke and the others, biting her lip, "Director, he has amnesia, yet remembers some incorrect facts. What could be causing this?"

A vague, uneasy thought crossed her mind.

The reason Damon Hawke’s recovery was stronger could be an illness in itself?

"Currently speaking, Mr. Hawke may have been hypnotized, or someone performed scientifically inexplicable acts on him."

The director paused, "Based on what you’ve told me, I think it’s possible Mr. Hawke has been manipulated by someone."

Upon hearing this, the Hawke Family was collectively shocked.

"Someone manipulated Tom? Director, what do you mean?"

Andrew King asked, his expression grave.

"I’ve been practicing medicine for nearly thirty years, seen countless cases, and read numerous medical books. I’ve heard of a type of witchcraft from Vexia, that once a person is hexed, their physical resilience becomes extraordinary and they obey the one who hexed them."

The director paused, "Given Mr. Hawke’s current condition, this possibility cannot be ruled out."

Hexed!

Elara Don felt her breath catch, almost unable to breathe.

The Hawke Family members all looked distraught.

"Director, is there any way to resolve this issue?"

Vinny Hawke’s eyes reddened slightly as she urgently inquired.

"There is a way, but we must find someone more skilled than the one who performed the hex to remove it from Mr. Hawke. But only if Mr. Hawke has indeed been hexed as I’ve speculated."

The director explained.

"Then, director, how can we confirm if Damon has been hexed?"

Vinny Hawke inquired again.

"Currently, only someone knowledgeable in this field can examine him to know," the director said.

Elara Don committed his words to memory.

So, for Damon Hawke to return to normal, they need the right prescription and to find someone who understands witchcraft.
