Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 342: Injured Right Brain
"Have you finished eating? Want to talk business?"
Cole Hawke noticed Damon Hawke’s dark expression after being rebuked by Helen. He raised an eyebrow and smirked.
Seeing Damon look at him, he continued, "But in your current state, can we really get anywhere with the conversation?"
Damon’s face turned even darker.
Does everyone think he’s hit his head too hard?
Elara Don chuckled softly, glanced at Damon, and said, "Senior, he currently injured his right brain, but his left brain is still developed."
The left brain governs rationality, while the right brain is more emotional.
Damon may be confused about feelings, but there’s certainly no problem with his work.
"Is that so? Then let me ask you, do you know about the Grant Family?"
Cole looked at Damon and asked.
Damon kept a composed face, got up and walked towards the window, "Stop with the sarcasm, get to the point, I already briefed you about the Hawke Corporation last night."
This is so typical of Damon!
Cole smirked and glanced at Elara, "Someone’s right brain is indeed still developed."
Elara curled her lips but said nothing.
Her eyes followed Damon’s back, still tall and familiar with a sense of grandeur.
When will his left and right brain fully recover!
"Elly, what’s the situation now? Are you just letting that con woman stay by Damon’s side?"
Helen noticed Victoria Don going upstairs to change her clothes and glared at her back.
Elara curled her fingers, "This is just temporary, let’s wait until after Tom has been checked out."
They still didn’t know what Victoria had done to Damon.
Once they found out, they certainly wouldn’t let Victoria have her way.
At the window, Cole and Damon stood together discussing work matters.
"Currently, the Hawke Corporation and the Grant Family are both competing for a medical project. Julian approached us for collaboration. If it were before, we would’ve ignored him. But now..."
Cole paused, "Your background was exposed, the Hawke Corporation’s stock has been unstable, coupled with the Grant Family’s interference, it’s challenging to snag the project alone. So collaborating with the Grant Family is the best option for now. But Julian’s sarcasm isn’t ideal for a partner, so I’m having a bit of a dilemma."
Upon hearing this, Damon’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, his mind quickly flashing through matters related to the Grant Family.
"The Grant Family is currently under scrutiny due to Gabriel’s personal issues. We can collaborate with them but also take the opportunity to negotiate terms..."
Listening to Damon’s calm and composed voice, Cole’s dark eyes were fixed.
Truly a business elite, even without memory, his sensitivity in the business arena surpassed others.
"Damon, I’ve just taken over the company, and I can’t handle it alone. So can you go to the company, help oversee and handle matters related to the Grant Family?"
After all, there’s a gap between a general manager and a president.
The burden on his shoulders was heavy.
He couldn’t help but yearn for the ease of being a general manager before.
Damon knew his status was currently sensitive, and he remained silent for a moment.
Cole saw his silence and roughly understood his thoughts.
"Look at me, I forgot you were injured and still need to recuperate, right? Well then, forget what I just said."
He used to be the grand president, now expected to be his subordinate.
It must be a psychological gap.
It’s normal not to want that.
But actually, if Damon were to join the company, he’d rather be Damon’s subordinate.
"You’re now the grand president, don’t jump to conclusions or be sarcastic. There’s nothing wrong with my health, and I never said I wouldn’t go to the company."
Damon glanced at him and said in a deep voice.
Cole raised an eyebrow, "So you’re willing to help at the company? But your status is bound to attract some attention and discussions."
"If I don’t go to the company, won’t people still talk about me? Cole Hawke, as a man, your perspective should be broader."
Damon gave him a sidelong glance.
Cole smiled, extending his hand for a high-five.
"Yes, yes, my perspective is no match for yours. Come, let’s high-five, soon the president position should still return to its rightful owner."
Who cares who’s the president of the Hawke Corporation?
As long as they can lead the Hawke Corporation forward, that’s enough.
"Childish."
Damon lightly mocked, "Be a good Hawke Corporation president, focus on what’s right, don’t think about those unnecessary things."
With that, he turned and headed toward the dining hall.
"Hey, hey, how am I childish? Since I’m the president, you have to follow my orders. Come over, I insist on that high-five."
Cole chuckled, a spontaneous playfulness arising.
Damon frowned and glared at the man blocking his path.
Cole didn’t resist, he directly grabbed Damon’s hand, pressing it into his palm.
The two tall men stood side by side, one with a long-lasting smile, the other with a stern face, yet not incongruent.
The rest of the Hawthorne family quietly watched this scene, mutual comforting smiles flashing in their eyes. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Because they knew, the brothers intended to move forward together.
The worry of an aristocratic power struggle likely wouldn’t happen between them.
"Tom."
Victoria Don, having freshened up upstairs, finally saw Damon when she came out, and hurriedly called him.
Damon instinctively raised his eyes, meeting her reddened eyes.
His heart twinged again and he unconsciously moved towards her.
Cole’s smile slightly dimmed, and he grabbed Damon, "Damon, what are you doing?"
He really couldn’t understand, how did Damon become so attached to Victoria Don after one fall!
Damon didn’t speak, but he flung off his hand, striding towards the stairs.
"Tom, you’re ignoring me now."
Victoria’s eyes reddened as she tried to throw herself into Damon’s arms.
The Hawke family’s bodyguards dutifully blocked her path.
"Get out of the way."
A cold voice came from Damon behind.
The bodyguards hesitated, meeting Damon’s cold eyes, then glanced at Vinny Hawke.
Vinny wanted to speak, but was tugged back by Elara.
They couldn’t keep the two apart forever.
If they continued to block, it might cause Damon to resent them.
"Stand down."
Vinny understood Elara’s intent, suppressing the urge to throw Victoria out of the Hawke house, letting the bodyguards step aside.
Victoria smiled triumphantly, and when the bodyguard made way, she immediately rushed into Damon’s arms.
"Tom, why are you ignoring me?"
Damon’s brow furrowed slightly, but his hand instinctively patted her back.
A voice in his mind clamored, his most beloved woman was Victoria Don, he couldn’t let her be sad.
The man gently holding the woman in his arms, Elara only felt a slight tug at her heart.
He actually hugged Victoria in front of everyone!
No, this must not be his true intention!
Elara fiercely self-assured, forcing down her wavering emotions.
"Elly, are you okay?"
Cole walked over to Elara, asking with concern.
Elara forced a smile, "I’m fine."
Cole moved his lips, hesitated to say more.
"Ugh, why do I feel so annoyed watching this? Elly, what’s happening? Why does Damon Hawke pamper Victoria Don so much? Did she put a spell on him?"
Victoria Don bewitched Damon Hawke!
This scene certainly looks that way, doesn’t it?
