Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 271: She Used You as a Pawn
Leia thought for a moment and found Nick’s aunt’s phone number, dialing it.
The child who led her upstairs was Nick’s aunt’s grandson. She needed to find out whether the little guy came to play with her on his own, or someone sent him.
"Hello, who is this?"
A middle-aged woman’s voice came through the phone.
Leia took a deep breath, "Auntie, it’s Leia Quinn."
"Chloe? Where are you? Why did I hear that you and Gideon..."
"Auntie, I have something to ask Gia, could you please give the phone to Gia?"
Leia interrupted her aunt’s words, closing her eyes, her voice somewhat dry.
"What do you want to ask Gia? Honestly, didn’t you just get married? How can you and Gideon..."
Electric currents buzzed with Auntie’s complaints, Leia held her phone, enduring it.
Fortunately, Auntie, although complaining, still called for her grandson.
"Hello?"
A little tender voice came through the phone.
Leia took a deep breath, "Gia, I’m the sister who played hide-and-seek with you just now. Tell me, did someone ask you to play hide-and-seek with me?"
Hearing this, the little guy thought for a moment and nodded.
"Mm-hmm, it was Aunt Yuna who asked me to play with you. She said if I played hide-and-seek with you, she’d give me money."
The little one’s soft voice made Leia grip her phone tightly.
Her suspicion was correct, it was Yuna Wynne who set her up!
"Okay, thank you, Gia."
Leia hung up the phone, her red lips pressed tightly.
Yuna Wynne liked Nick, so she came up with this scheme to ruin her.
But even if she wanted to set her up, it’s impossible for Nick and her to have a relationship.
There must be more to this.
Leia took a deep breath, dialing Yuna Wynne’s number.
She needed to confirm one thing!
The phone rang for a long time before being answered at the last moment.
Yuna Wynne’s voice came through the line.
"Leia Quinn?"
Leia’s pretty face was tense, "It’s me, Yuna Wynne. You orchestrated today’s event, didn’t you?"
Upon hearing this, Yuna Wynne sneered, "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
"Really don’t know? Yuna Wynne, I’m not the only one you’ve schemed against, right? There’s Selena too, isn’t there? She used you as a pawn, didn’t she? I had a relationship with Nick, doesn’t that bother you?"
Leia coldly provoked.
Yuna Wynne’s breathing became rapid, shouting, "Leia Quinn, what are you proud of? Now you’re the scorned woman by everyone, your husband is going to divorce you, right?"
She didn’t deny it, she admitted it!
Why won’t that malicious woman Selena stop!
Leia gritted her teeth, chuckling lightly, "Yeah, my husband and I are going to divorce, then I’ll be with Nick, won’t that disgust you!"
Having said, Leia ignored Yuna Wynne’s shouts and hung up the phone.
Looking at the bright sunshine outside the window, her heart felt like it had sunk into a frozen lake.
Bone-chilling cold.
Wayne, what should we do?
Houghton Club.
Craig Landers’s eyes were red, pouring drink after drink.
He couldn’t think; just thinking about today’s event, he suddenly smashed the glass onto the ground.
The glass shattered upon impact, split into pieces.
Craig’s chest rose and fell continuously, unbuttoning the front of his shirt.
He slumped on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling, slowly picking up his phone.
His phone had several incoming future calls.
All from Leia Quinn.
Craig stared hard at them, chuckling lightly.
Why’s she calling?
He really didn’t want to see her at all now, didn’t want to hear her voice.
That would send him out of control!
He had finally gotten over his past relationship and wanted to start a new life with her, so why did she extinguish his hopes and zest for life?
Was it his mistake?
Wrongly taking her as his redemption!
He shouldn’t have married her!
Craig took up the bottle, drinking directly from it.
The glistening liquid trickled drop by drop from the corners of his mouth, oozing an exhausted sensuality.
Uh!
Craig drank half the bottle in one go, burping.
The handsome peach blossom eyes were tinged with drunken haze.
He grabbed his phone, looking up Damon Hawke’s number, dialing it.
"Damon, come to Houghton and drink with me."
On the other end, Damon Hawke was socializing.
He frowned slightly, "What are you doing at Houghton during the daytime?"
"Drinking! Are you coming?"
"No time."
"Ha! People say that brothers are like limbs, women are like clothes, yet I see my limbs aren’t reliable."
Craig mocked with a sentence, hanging up.
Damon Hawke looked at the ended call, furrowing his brows.
What nonsense!
Could it be a quarrel with Leia Quinn?
Weren’t they just newlyweds?
On the other end, Craig was pouring drinks, letting his thoughts wander.
Not knowing how long it had been, someone walked in.
Craig half-opened his dazed eyes, looking at the blurred face of the woman in front of him, carefully trying to recognize her.
The woman’s appearance was lovely, smiling sweetly at him.
Craig looked for a long time, thickly tongued calling, "Selena?"
The woman laughed even more, "Are you unhappy? I came to drink with you! Once you drink, everything unhappy will be forgotten."
Craig’s thoughts were somewhat scattered, chuckling, hoarsely saying, "Yes, drinking is good, only you, Selena, understand me."
"Of course, I’ve always been your comfort, and aren’t I the person you love most?"
The woman smiled sweetly, sitting on Craig’s lap, her hand slowly reaching his opened chest.
Craig’s breathing became heavier, yet he raised his hand to hold the woman’s hand.
"Selena, I’m married, we can’t continue like this."
"So what if you’re married? Think about your wife, isn’t she also messing around with other men behind your back? Don’t worry, I don’t want anything, just want to be your comfort."
The woman laughed sweetly, pouring Craig a drink.
Craig was hopelessly drunken, images of the woman’s words flashed in his mind.
Right!
So what if they’re married?
Didn’t his wife put a big green hat on him!
Craig gulped down the drink, laughing as he got up.
"Leia Quinn, how could you break my heart like this!"
In another room.
Selena held a phone, watching the video on it, her lips curled into a smile. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
The woman who went in was a hostess here.
She instructed her for a few words, letting her place a camera on her to record Craig’s every move.
Next, she’ll take the next step!
The night descended.
Leia Quinn sat on the sofa, motionless.
The whole day passed, Craig didn’t answer her calls or come home.
This home felt cold and empty, devoid of warmth.
Craig, where on earth are you?
Leia slowly picked up the phone, dialing Craig’s number once more.
"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently switched off."
The phone was already turned off.
Leia clutched her phone tightly, feeling something blocking her throat.
She swallowed hard, typing a line.
"Wayne, where are you? Can you come back and talk properly? If you can’t accept who I am now, we can divorce."
