Daddy, You Got The Wrong Mommy-Chapter 167: Waiting to Put Her in Her Place
Elara Don led Bea down the stairs.
Following behind was Damon Hawke.
Leia Quinn saw the three of them coming down and reminded Dominic Hawke to stay in the car, while she got out to greet them.
"Good morning, Mr. Hawke."
Leia Quinn greeted Damon with a brief nod as she took the two small backpacks from his hands.
Damon nodded slightly to her and glanced inside the car.
The window was up, and a small figure could be vaguely seen on the backseat, though it was hard to make out clearly.
"Mr. Hawke, we’re leaving now."
Leia Quinn opened the car’s back door, signaling Bea to get in.
Bea looked back at Damon Hawke with a reluctant wave.
"Goodbye, Daddy."
When will he ever be able to call him Daddy openly and honorably?
"Mm."
Damon responded in a calm voice, watching Bea get into the car.
The little figure inside moved slightly and glanced at him.
Those eyes made Damon’s dark eyes twitch slightly.
The more he looked, the more Bea seemed like his son.
He took a step forward, wanting to say a word to Bea.
But Elara Don quickly blocked his path.
"Mr. Hawke, Charlie is staying here today. You saw last night that he’s very comfortable, so you don’t need to worry."
Upon hearing this, Damon gave her a glance, momentarily speechless.
He was certainly not worried about his son; it was himself he was worried about!
He had a feeling that if he came again tonight, he would definitely be shut out.
"Elly..."
"It’s getting late, we’d better leave now. Goodbye, Mr. Hawke, take care on your way back."
Elara Don saw Rhun Quinn’s car arriving, smiled, and quickly got into Leia Quinn’s car.
The car sped off, stirring up a small cloud of dust.
Damon’s lips tightened slightly, his handsome face giving nothing away.
Last night’s moments flooded his mind—it was the peaceful life he wanted.
He wouldn’t give her up!
In the car, Dominic Hawke took off his mask and sat beside Bea.
The two exchanged glances, silently sharing their times spent with Damon.
Leia Quinn glanced at Elara Don, who was silent, sighed quietly, and patted her hand.
If only Damon hadn’t deceived her best friend, if only he were just an ordinary rich guy, that would be so much better.
...
In a luxury apartment.
Evelyn Miles lazily lounged on the sofa, messaging friends she knew.
Returning to her homeland, she had to connect with friends and expand her network.
This way, she could secure more business when her studio opened.
So, tonight she was hosting a small party to celebrate with her friends.
After messaging her friends, she found Elara Don’s number and called her.
Elara Don must not miss tonight!
After all, she was waiting to take her down a notch!
"Hello."
Elara Don’s voice crackled through the line.
Evelyn curled her lips, "Miss Thorne, this is Evelyn Miles. Don’t forget you’re invited to the party tonight, I’ll send you the address shortly."
Elara Don paused for a moment on the other end, suddenly remembering.
She pondered briefly, then curled her lips, "Alright, I’ll be there on time."
Not making money would be silly.
She just wanted to know what Evelyn Miles was planning by inviting her to the party.
It couldn’t be as simple as wanting to be friends with her.
Of course, the words ’making friends’ should be followed by a question mark.
After hanging up, Elara Don put the matter aside and focused on her work.
Evelyn Miles looked at her phone screen, her eyes flickering with a mysterious glint.
After a while, she made a call.
"Yoyo, do you still have those photos of us from when we used to hang out together? Do me a favor..."
...
At the hospital.
Leia Quinn had been busy all day and was rubbing her aching temples, ready to finish work.
A knock came on the door, and she looked up to see Craig Landers leaning against the door with one hand in his pocket.
Frowning instinctively, Leia spoke coolly, "Mr. Landers, I’m off duty now. For treatment, come earlier tomorrow."
He really was idle, visiting the hospital every day!
"Cindy darling, come with me to a small party tonight."
Craig Landers didn’t mind Leia’s indifference, looking at her with amusement.
"Sorry, I’m busy."
Go to a party with him?
What kind of idle nonsense was that?
Leia rejected him outright.
"Really busy?"
Craig Landers blinked his charming eyes, a smile spread across his face.
"Busy."
Leia replied expressionlessly.
"Alright, if you’re busy, I’ll find someone else to go with me."
Craig Landers nodded, then added, "But I heard that Elly will be there too, and she’s preparing the venue for Evelyn Miles. I wonder if she’ll be ostracized."
Leia was putting on her white coat when she suddenly froze upon hearing this.
"What did you say? Elly is preparing the venue for Evelyn Miles? Why?"
What’s going on here?
Why didn’t Elara Don mention it?
"Hmm? You really didn’t know?"
Craig Landers raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise.
"I didn’t know! Hurry and tell me what’s going on?"
Leia looked at Craig, feeling a bit anxious.
Craig’s eyes flickered slightly, and he leaned closer to her with a chuckle, "Well, Cindy darling, give me a smile first, and then I’ll tell you."
Ridiculous!
Leia glared at him but didn’t bother to respond, instead pulling out her phone to call Elara Don.
Craig Landers was left disappointed but stood straight and patiently waited by her side.
Once the call connected, Leia quickly asked, "Elly, do you have anything planned for tonight?"
"Yeah, Kiki. I was about to call you. I’m busy now, could you pick up Charlie and Bea for me?"
Elara’s voice came through, and Leia asked, "What are you doing? Does Evelyn Miles have you setting up a party venue?"
Elara seemed surprised at the question, "Yes, Kiki, how did you know?"
"Doesn’t matter how I know. Elly, you should be more careful. Why are you doing this?"
Evelyn Miles was Damon Hawke’s first love; what was Elara doing getting involved with her?
And lowering herself to help organize a venue?
Aren’t you afraid of that little white lotus tearing into you?
"Kiki, I’m just making some extra money. If someone’s willing to pay, why shouldn’t I earn it? With that, I can splurge on Bea later."
Elara replied with a light-hearted tone, "Alright, I won’t talk any longer. Thanks, dad of the kids."
Leia: "..."
This woman really has a big heart!
Leia hung up the phone, feeling speechless.
Next to her, a man’s voice came through.
"So? Cindy darling, can you come with me to the party now?"
Craig Landers had both hands in his pockets, looking very pleased with himself.
Inwardly, Leia sneered but chose not to retort.
"You go ahead. I’ll come after picking up the kids."
She needed to get her best friend’s errand done first.
"Picking up the kids? Going to get Bea? I’ll go with you."
Craig Landers wouldn’t consider going alone and decided to tag along with Leia.
"Mr. Landers, you’re really not busy."
"I’m very busy, but no matter how busy, I have to make time to pursue my girlfriend."
"Mr. Landers, I’m not your girlfriend."
"Isn’t that what I’m working on? Cindy darling, you’ll be my girlfriend sooner or later."
"..."
