Chapter 108: 108 His purpose (2)_1

Gu Jizhou tightly gripped Che Huan’s arm, squeezing it tighter and tighter, "Without his agreement, you can’t get divorced."

Che Huan let out a scoff, her chest heaving as she met Gu Jizhou’s gaze and angrily retorted, "And what if he doesn’t agree?"

Gu Jizhou stared at Che Huan, "If he doesn’t agree, you can’t divorce."

"Then what’s the point of you signing?" Che Huan couldn’t help but laugh at Gu Jizhou, realizing it was all a calculated move!

Gu Jizhou coldly suggested, "You can persuade him!"

"I don’t have that ability!" She had barely finished her sentence when she saw Huo Jinyun come out and head their way; Che Huan suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.

Mrs. Gu had always looked down on her; surely she wouldn’t let her through this door, right?

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be that after five years of marriage, she still didn’t know about the Huo Family’s existence!

Huo Jinyun had also spotted Che Huan.

After receiving Huo Jinnan’s call, she quickly left the house and, as expected, saw Jizhou arriving. Initially, she was full of discomfort but hadn’t expected him to bring Che Huan as well, causing her expression to darken even further.

Che Huan, seeing the look on Huo Jinyun’s face, felt much more composed.

Huo Jinyun approached, without sparing a glance at Che Huan. Her eyes settled on Gu Jizhou as she asked coldly, "Why did you bring her here?"

Gu Jizhou asked in a cold tone, "Has my uncle arrived yet?"

"Not yet." Huo Jinyun frowned unconsciously, wondering why Jizhou had suddenly started to take such an interest in Anan these past few days and what he wanted with Anan.

Gu Jizhou looked towards the black Bentley parked nearby.

Huo Jinyun noticed his gaze, swept a contemptuous look at Che Huan, and then focused back on Gu Jizhou, "I’ve had someone bring Xiaowei over."

Gu Jizhou said nothing more and pulled Che Huan by the arm towards the direction of the entrance.

Huo Jinyun glanced at them, her heart secretly anxious. If Che Huan went inside, it could make things worse, especially now that the old man was already displeased, and they were on the eve of a festival!

She looked at Gu Jizhou and lowered her voice, "Jizhou, stop right there. If you go through that door, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life! Come with me, I need to speak with you for a moment!"

Seeing the seriousness in Huo Jinyun’s expression, which did not seem like a joke, Gu Jizhou glanced back at Che Huan, fearful that she might suddenly run away, pushed her into the car, and locked her inside.

Huo Jinyun watched from the side, feeling particularly uneasy. She really couldn’t understand what was different about Che Huan that made Jizhou choose her over everyone else!

After making sure the car was locked and seeing none around, with Xiaowei and his mother walking in a place far from there, where no one could see or possibly hear them, she finally proceeded with a grim face towards the Ginkgo Forest in the backyard.

Gu Jizhou followed with the car keys in hand.

They reached a large ginkgo tree, shielded from prying eyes, where Huo Jinyun stopped and turned to Gu Jizhou, "If you truly don’t want a divorce, you better not take her to see your great-grandfather."

Gu Jizhou furrowed his brow, "Why not?"

Huo Jinyun’s voice lowered even more, "Once she enters that door, she’ll be able to divorce successfully tomorrow. If you don’t believe it, try it and see!"

Gu Jizhou eyed Huo Jinyun with suspicion, seeing not a trace of jest on her face, "What’s the real reason?"

Huo Jinyun didn’t want to elaborate, knowing that Che Huan mattered to Gu Jizhou, "You don’t need to know; just remember that if you go through that door, it’s completely over between you and Che Huan."

Gu Jizhou stood there, lighting a cigarette, and stared intently at Huo Jinyun as she frowned.

Huo Jinyun stood silently, letting Gu Jizhou look at her.

After a while, Gu Jizhou looked away, "Why can’t you tell me?"

Without answering, Huo Jinyun glanced at him, took out her phone, "Since you’ve already promised your great-grandfather that you’d bring your girlfriend for him to meet today, I’ll call Miss Du to come and support you. I’m sure your great-grandfather will be thrilled."
