Chapter 142: Chapter 141: Self proclaimed Son-in-law (1)

"Follow me," Li Xinyue said as she walked past Li Jain.

For the first time, memories that weren’t so clueless came to Li Jain’s mind. He saw that the original owner has three siblings. His older brother Li Jianyu, his second brother Li Yiwei, and his younger sister Li Xinyue. His parents are both members of Jade Cloud Sect and are barely home all year round. As for his oldest brother, he was currently living in the capital with his family.

Their own section of the resident is the East Courtyard. Although it was called a courtyard, it could be a mansion of its own. Because it was very massive.

Apart from their talents, another reason why Li Jain and siblings cultivated faster compared to the others was greatly due to the resources given by their parents.

As soon as they step outside, Li Xinyue saw the children and a smile bloom on her face.

"Wow, you guys have grown so fast, I barely recognize you. Welcome, welcome."

"Hello, Aunt Yue."

The children greeted her.

"How many times do I have to remind you guys to call me sister, instead of aunt" Li Xinyue pouted, but the children didn’t respond, only looking at each other.

Li Xinyue didn’t press on it, instead, she changes the subject: "Where is Cheng?" She asked

"Um... he got left behind. Father will pick him up in a few days." Li Zhang responded after a quick though

"Oh, ok. How have you guys been?" Li Xinyue continued, as she crouched down to meet Li Juanxin’s timid gazed at her.

"Good."

All the children were talking with Xinyue except Jingxuan, and of course she noticed.

Li Xinyue: "What’s wrong? Are you not happy to see you Aunt, Xuan?"

Li Jingxuan didn’t answer and started walking ahead of the group. Li Xinyue doubles her steps and catches up with him quickly.

"Is it because I didn’t you after you left?" Li Xinyue asked knowing that was the problem.

As expected, Li Jingxuan stopped and nodded: "You broke your promise!"

"Oh honey, I didn’t mean to. It’s just that I wasn’t allow to visit you guys at the time." Li Xinyue hold Jingxuan’s shoulder and said half truthfully.

Li Jingxuan: "Why’s that?"

"It’s a long story," Li Xinyue sigh and waves her hands, but looking at Li Jingxuan’s face that was saying come on, tell me! She had no choice but to come up with something: "As a big family, we all have to gain experience and learn to survive on our own. Your mainly, because of you guys needed that the most. That’s why he was thrown out as a trial. If I had secretly followed you guys, he would’ve absolutely failed the trail."

"Oh, so that’s what happen?" Li Jingxuan asked septically.

"Of course, your aunt won’t lie to you. Besides, because I wasn’t able to attend your last two birthdays, I kept your presents."

"Really?" Li Jingxuan eyes lit up: "Thanks, sis Yue."

Li Xinyue smile. Among Li Jain’s children, she got along well with Li Xinyue.

They walked down the garden path. The East Courtyard also has its own set of securities. Li Jain looks at Li Xinyue back thoughtfully. In fact, from the memories he got, it shows that Li Jain and Li Xinyue’s relationship wasn’t as close as it appears to be.

She hated the fact that Li Jain was abusing his life because of his talent in cultivation. They had argued a lot because of this. The only reason why she fights for Li Jain was because of the innocent children who didn’t choose their parents.

The resident that was given to them was very big. Li Jain had a faint memory that the original owner used to live here but he it was like this when he was here. So, they might have remodel it after he left.

"Here we are." Li Xinyue said, motioning towards the entrance.

The children eyes widen with curiosity, as they entered the vast courtyard.

"This is your courtyard, surprise?" She smirked and added: "After you left, grandfather renovate it as soon as he came out of seclusion. "

"It is indeed nice." Li Jain nodded.

"Well, you guys settled in. I’m leaving first, called me in case of anything." Li Xinyue said and turned to leave.

Before Li Jain left, they weren’t on good terms. And judging from his quietness, she felt that he wasn’t comfortable around her. So, she decided to not stay too long. Nevertheless, she was still happy to see them. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

The children were all in good health, even better than when they left. Also, they have improved so much in their cultivation. It seems like the spiritual Tavern really plays a huge impact.

Thinking about the Spiritual Tavern, Li Xinyue was curious about how Li Jain got his enlightenment, or whether it was an inheritance. But that was for another day.

Li Jain didn’t try to stop Li Xinyue from leaving, he just nod

"Is it really ours?" Li Juanxin asked in awe

"Yea it is, your aunt just said so." Li Jain replied, looking around the yard. A pang of nostalgia in his chest that he wasn’t aware of.

Li Jain: "Come on, let’s part up."

"Well," Li Jingsheng hesitated: "Uncle Liu isn’t here with the carriage."

Huh?

It was only then that everyone realized Liu Xiong and the carriage had disappeared at some point.

"Well, did you see where he went?" Li Jain asked.

The rest shook their heads. They were absorbed in looking around the courtyard that they didn’t nothing when the other party left. But why does he have to carry the carriage with him?

Li Zhang shrugged: "He usually keeps close."

"Do you think something happen?" Li Jingxuan asks with a frown pretending to be uneasy.

Li Jingsheng sneered: "What could happen to him in this resident? He’s probably just checking something."

"Don’t spoil the fun, genius. Everything doesn’t have to be boring with you." Li Jingxuan said rolling his eyes.

Li Jingsheng didn’t respond and ignore him.

Shiny the tiny snake, crawl to Li Yujian’s shoulder and whisper into his ear.

Li Yujian deepens as he listens to the snake words. Finally, he said: "Shiny just told me that Uncle Liu life with Aunt Yue. He took her for a ride in the carriage."

Everyone was speechless. They have just gotten here, and Liu Xiong had already started his mission to please his sister-in-law.

"Maybe Uncle Xiong is making a used of his time. Unfortunately, I left my drawing book in the carriage. What a moment." Li Zhang said with a regrettably sighed.

Li Jain: "Well, let’s check out the interior first while waiting for your uncle to come back."

Li Jain check out the house layout and assign rooms to the children. There many rooms, but he still decided for them to sleep in pairs. So they follow similar lineup from the previous house.

The first twins would share a room, and so would the second twin pair. The triplets would also be sharing a room but their room his much bigger.

While Li Jain and his children were discussing the line up of their new home, which was both new and old, Liu Xiong was sitting in the carriage above the Li residence with his sister in law.

"So what did you wanted to talk to me about?" Liu Xiong asked. He was in a good mood.

If it wasn’t the fact that he saw Li Xinyue was among the few that has no I’ll intentions towards Li Jain, he wouldn’t have bothered with her.

"I never said I wanted to talk to you." Li Xinyue said with a smile.

"But you were exploring me with your spiritual energy."

"I just wanted to know what was hiding in the carriage."

"I’m not hiding anything," Liu Xiong replied, a playful grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Just indulging in the company of a lovely man."

Li Xinyue arched an eyebrow, crossing her arms: "Are you talking about my third brother? Surely, you didn’t tried to woo him with mere words, right?"

Liu Xiong chuckled softly: "Perhaps, but it totally backfire."

"You’ve got to be joking." Li Xinyue laughed heartily: "How can you go after a man who is as straight as a line?!"

"Well, not anymore. There are some progress. That’s why I’m trying to leave a good impression on my sister in law.

"Is that so?" Li Xinyue was a bit surprised.

Was her brother really cut sleeve?

The only possible is that Liu Xiong is joking, but his expression says otherwise.

"How long have you know my brother?" She asked

"A very long time but we have been together for four months now.

Li Xinyue bit her lip, caught between curiosity and caution. There was something about this man that intrigued her, a feeling that felt both exhilarating and terrifying.

It wasn’t just about the suffocating pressure he released. Something about him just wasn’t right. She also had the same feeling about Li Jain.

It wasn’t just about him being quiet. It seems as if he was a different person all together. But she thought it could be the hardship he went through.

Those two were really worrying. She sighed.
