Cultivation Daddy-Chapter 100: Brothers Sometimes Argued
"Father, why is Old patriarch Yan so happy?" Li Zhang asked when he saw Li Jain coming over.
"The old man made a good business deal." Li Jain said with a smile: "How was it with the Yan kid?"
"That Yan Zhenghao will never dare to be rude to us again!" Li Zhang patted his chest proudly, not hiding the fact that he’d given Yan Zhenghao a hard time.
Li Jain laughed: "Hahahahaha, that works out."
But Yuhan didn’t look happy he still have that
gloomy expression, which made people worry.
"What’s wrong? Did you not like Yan Zhenghao that much? If you don’t feel comfortable around him, you don’t have to get along with him. " Li Jain said seriously.
He and the Yan family only have neighbors and business friendship. They couldn’t go too far ahead to be enemies to one another. But that doesn’t mean the children have to be involved.
Yuhan shook his head and responded: "No, It’s not that I dislike him, I’ve always known he was a blockhead. I’m not just not feeling too good, it has nothing to do with him."
Li Jain sighed, the kid has never been this emotional. After the incident at the school, whenever Yan Zhenghao’s name is brought up, turn gloomy and becomes quiet.
He felt bad for his son because of what happened and wanted to talk about it, but he knows that once his older sons start thinking about something, there’s no way they’ll stop until everything has been thought through.
"I’m going to stay at the Tavern for a while, you guys should head back." Li Jain said
Li Zhang and Yan Zhenghao exchanged looks, then nodded their heads.
"Take your time, father. I also have something to do, so I’ll head back first." Li Zhang smiled, waving his hand as he walked towards the gate. But before he could take a few more steps, he was pulled back by his collar.
"Don’t you have homework that is due tomorrow? Go get to it." Li Jain looked at him with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes.
Although he wasn’t angry, Li Zhang knew there was no way out. His father was usually a very gentle and sweet man, but he could be strict at times. He doesn’t want to know what’ll happen next once his father gets upset.
"It’s all because of that instructor who’s always talking about fundamentals. Fundamental this, fundamental that." Li Zhang complained loudly, kicking the little stones on the ground: "Others are picked to go on a fun trip, and I’m stuck with fundamental homework."
Li Jain chuckled softly: "Alright, enough of the whining, go now. Remember to study well."
"Yes Father." Li Zhang smiled awkwardly and hurried back to the house.
When Li Zhang and Yuhan returned, Li Yujian was doing some random chores in the backyard. He waved at Li Zhang who felt like he had the weight of the world on his shoulder, and walked towards Yuhan.
"Was that Yan Zhenghao and his mother?" Li Yujian asked while putting down the cloth on his hand.
Li Yuhan nodded his head and replied: "And the old patriarch. They came to apologize."
Li Yujian was a bit surprised: "Old patriarch Yan came here personally?" He paused and frowned: "The fact that you acted like a coward and waited for your younger brother to save you is understandable, but what else is there that you can’t talk about?"
"Cowardly?... You call me a coward." Li Yuhan laughed angrily.
Li Yujian gave him an incredulous glance: "You act well, but I’ve never seen such cowardice."
"If I’m a coward, then what kind of person are you, a hypocrite?" Li Yuhan snorts.
"A hypocritical person?..." Li Yujian was surprised: "Then what exactly did you think I was trying to hide behind the facade of a hypocrite!" He laughed bitterly at the realization : "Is that what I looked like to you?"
"Are they fighting?" Jingxuan poked his head through the door and asked.
"They are just settling some differences." Jingsheng said while looking outside too.
"So..., in other words, they’re arguing before they fight." Jingxuan asked again after a while.
Li Jingsheng answered while scratching his temple: "No, they weren’t fighting, it’s just an exchange of opinions. Why? Do you have something to add?"
Jingxuan nodded: "Well yes, I do. If they are arguing like that in each other’s face, one person is going to slap the other to back off and that’s going to lead to a fight."
"Whatever you say..." Jingsheng shrugged helplessly, he was already used to Jingxuan being stubborn at times.
As for what was the real issue between his first and second brother, he never understood either. But he was certain that they both have their own thoughts and opinions. Only after they get to the bottom of things, will they open up to each other about it. In any case, this is the right direction.
"You two little rascals! You actually dared to sneak out to watch the fun." Li Zhang suddenly appeared from behind them.
"You are the one with homework. Why should we stay with you simply because you think it is unfair?" Jingsheng rolled his eyes.
"Do you really intend to argue? It doesn’t matter, you two are coming with me." Li Zhang grabbed both of them by their collars and dragged them towards the study.
Outside, the atmosphere between the two brothers was intense.
"You want to know what really happened? Fine, I’ll tell you." Yuhan said as he walked closer: "It happened again. The blood lust, when I heard Yan Zhenghao running his mouth nonstop, I wanted nothing more but to kill him!"
"Oh? okay..." Li Yujian raised his brows slightly.
"Just okay? Do you know how much effort I put in to resist it and you just say oh?" Yuhan showed his hands for him to see. There were fresh blood stains on dry wounds. All of these were made by himself to keep him under control.
Li Yujian sighed: "You don’t need to hurt yourself like that. I told you, I’ll find a solution."
Yuhan shook his head and glared at him harshly: "Stop saying nonsense. What solution can you possibly find? It’s all because of you that this happens. If you hadn’t tried to transfer your death aura to me, how would I have awakened this blood lust?!"
Li Yujian didn’t answer. He knew he was at fault, but he only did it to protect his brother.
Li Yujian was born with an innate Death Aura, a natural murderous pressure. It is a constitution-type phenomenon. The spiritual pattern of his meridians and soul carries a death attribute, therefore the moment his soul energy is released, it’s like he’s releasing a dark cloud from the sky.
The aura manifests as an invisible suppressing pressure that triggers instinctive fear. Thanks to that, only few dare to approach him, not to mention bullying him.
He saw that Yuhan was being bullied more often when he wasn’t around. The two of them only had each other and younger siblings to look after.
He wanted to help Yuhan so he thought of transferring his Death Aura to him. If Yuhan carried a trace of Death Aura, people would feel that same warning and hesitate to target him.
It could be that the method he followed was wrong, because the transfer failed and he ended up hurting Yuhan instead. Yuhan awakened his Bloodlust in the process and still isn’t able to keep it under control.
"I know it’s my fault and saying sorry won’t make up for it; what do you want me to do?" Li Yujian finally said, suppressing his own irritation.
Yuhan stared at him: "Nothing, just don’t you dare call me a coward again!" Before Li Yujian could reply, he turned and stormed into the house slamming the door shut.
Li Yujian angrily punched the war, leaving a hole in it. Then he wiped the remaining dust off his hands and went out the gate.
Li Jain who was sitting on the tree at some point sigh endlessly. Why was his buns so worrysome? Does he have to find out things like this every single time?
He wishes they’ll come to him with their problems and complain endlessly. Saying, Daddy help me.
He doesn’t know what’s stopping them from asking for actual help. But his buns are his buns after all, so he’ll do what he got to do.

The next morning was perfectly normal as if the previous argument didn’t happen yesterday.
"Come on, everybody. Hurry up or you’re going to be late for school." Li Jain called out as he stood at the entrance.
The boys who were busy getting ready came down the stairs as soon as they finished.
"Tell Zhang, I don’t know whether he’s going to school or having a beauty contest." Yuhan shouted from inside.
"What do you know about style? You have to look good to attract girls. Not many of those are available anyway." Li Zhang retorted.
"I don’t have any girl I want to attract, my hair is OK as it is." Li Jingxuan huffed.
"You have a trip today, of course you have to look good." Li Zhang insisted.
"Hey Jian, do you still have that book about birds that can’t fly?" Yuhan asks.
"Of course I do. But didn’t you say it was boring?" Li Yujian pointed his thumb over his shoulder.
"It’s still boring, but I wanna go and check it anyway!" Li Yuhan said as he picked up the book.
When they were finally done, they boarded the carriage and Li Jain was already exhausted.
