Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 284 - 253: Space Distortion Zone
When Jeming arrived punctually at the designated meeting point and saw Senior Jack,
he noticed eleven unfamiliar wizards around him, each with a different expression, but generally, their auras weren’t strong.
"Senior Jack." Jeming stepped forward to greet him.
Seeing Jeming’s arrival, a slight smile appeared on Jack’s face: "You’re here, right on time."
After greeting Jeming, he shook his head with a face full of regret: "Alas, after searching for so long, I’ve only been able to find this many people."
Looking at the eleven wizards standing behind him, Jeming nodded to show understanding.
It’s clear that at this stage, trying to assemble a team for a mission is indeed quite difficult.
After all, the entire "Aerial Plane" is seen by all wizards as a vast treasure trove yet to be developed.
Instead of wasting time venturing into the unknown "Twisted Space" to complete a fixed reward rescue mission at a risk,
it’s better to, like other wizards, fly further away to seek more easily obtainable resources.
So, apart from Jeming who had other goals, the other wizards Jack found weren’t very high in wizard level.
According to the aura Jeming sensed, most of these wizards were First Level Wizards.
And judging by the still unstable aura they carried, they were recent promotions, relatively weak newcomers.
Because of their weaker power, these wizards chose this seemingly low-risk task to earn rewards for safety reasons.
This is also why Jack was so pleasantly surprised when he heard that Jeming, a competent Second Level Wizard, was willing to help. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
After all, in terms of the depth of controlling Soul Contracts, one Second Level Wizard could surpass ten First Level Wizards.
The conversation between Jack and Jeming attracted the attention of others, but no one at the site seemed to have the intention to introduce themselves.
Even Jack thought the same; after greeting Jeming and confirming everyone was present,
he decisively got up, leading the team away from the camp towards the direction they had marked beforehand.
And Jeming, along with the other eleven newly recruited wizards, silently followed behind him, leaving the camp together.
The group flew at high speed for a full six days in this white world void of any reference points, finally reaching an area that seemed no different from its surroundings.
Upon nearing, Jack, who led the group, cautiously stopped.
He turned around to remind everyone: "Ahead is the ’Space Distortion’ area, be sure to stay behind me and don’t leave the team lightly."
Hearing this, Jeming’s expression also became serious.
He carefully surveyed the vast aerial plane ahead but to no avail.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that the area ahead showed no abnormality; even the drifting white mist seemed no different from elsewhere.
There were no signs of any Energy anomalies here, and his various senses and pre-released Scouting Witchcraft also yielded no effective feedback.
It wasn’t until Jeming cautiously activated the "All-Purpose Eye" again, limiting his observation to a narrow fan-shaped area a few meters in front of him.
Only then did he barely see some faint but definite space distortion traces, rippling like water waves!
"The danger of this space distortion... far exceeds my expectations..." Jeming couldn’t help feeling amazed in his heart.
If there were no special scouting means, regular wizards might never know how they died even if they crashed headlong into it!
At this moment, Jack pulled out a witchcraft artifact from his bosom, resembling a metal bird in appearance.
After infusing it with a stream of Spiritual Power, he gently released it.
Soon, the bird-like artifact seemed to be infused with life, transforming into a stream of light that vanished instantly into the dense fog ahead.
Before long, as everyone waited somewhat puzzled, the figure of Levin Mills abruptly appeared a few hundred meters ahead.
He appeared with no warning, as if he had always been standing there.
Upon seeing this, Jack visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
He turned back to carefully instruct the newly recruited wizards beside him:
"Remember the area where that wizard just appeared; it is the only stable position point we’ve found so far where it’s safe to enter the interior of this ’Space Distortion.’"
"And to enter, you must strictly adhere to a certain flight pattern, and the retreat must also follow this flight pattern."
Then Jack led the group forward.
He proceeded slowly towards Levin Mills’ position, using a peculiar "S" shaped flight pattern.
During the flight, Jeming keenly noticed that hidden within this dense fog were actually some small, round orbs flickering with faint light.
It seems to be like a "signal marker," used as a reference point in this area without any other markers.
He silently memorized the complex flight trajectory and the relative positions of these small spheres serving as references.
In fact, it wasn’t just him; the other hired wizards were also doing the same thing silently.
"Levin, how’s the situation inside?"
Finally coming before Levin Mills, Jack immediately stepped forward to greet him.
Levin Mills only nodded courteously to the new wizards like Jeming, finally nodding once more specifically to Jeming as a greeting.
Upon hearing Jack’s question, Levin Mills shook his head regretfully: "Space distortion, the internal area is even larger than expected, and now the search area is getting bigger. The first batch of scouting modified beasts we’ve deployed is almost reaching the limit of our control range, but we still haven’t discovered anything."
He then glanced at Jeming and the other wizards behind Jack, frowning.
Clearly dissatisfied with the strength and numbers of these newcomers: "Only recruited this few people?"
Jack noticed his dissatisfaction, but there was nothing he could do.
He sighed helplessly: "Right now, many wizards outside are busy developing other abundant resources in the ’Aerial Plane’, they simply don’t have time to pay attention to this. Finding these people is already quite good."
Levin Mills felt somewhat helpless upon hearing this.
But he also knew the current situation of the plane, so he said no more and called everyone to follow him into this "space distortion" area.
In the eyes of those new wizards, Levin Mills and Jack merely flew a little forward as usual.
Then, their whole beings suddenly vanished, as if erased from a drawing by an eraser!
Watching Jack and Levin Mills walk in so effortlessly, the remaining wizards hesitated, looking at each other.
Jeming had previously used the All-Purpose Eye to observe the area ahead, confirming it was indeed relatively safe.
Therefore, he fearlessly flew over first.
Reaching the spot where the two had disappeared, he tentatively extended his finger forward.
Then, he saw the scenery before him change abruptly!
Jack and Levin Mills’ figures once again appeared out of nowhere in front of him.
Is this the "space distortion" area?
There was no sensation at all during the space jump!
Doesn’t that mean that if a wizard accidentally encounters such a place in the wild, they might not even realize they’ve wandered into a dire situation!
Jeming was inwardly alarmed.
Then, he noticed something amiss.
In his view, Jack and Levin Mills seemed to be standing upside down.
Moreover, Jeming felt a strong pulling force coming from above him, as if trying to drag him upwards.
He quickly realized.
It wasn’t that they were upside down, but he himself was "flying" upside down!
And... this "space distortion" area, inside, actually has gravity?!
Seeing the two over there standing steadily on the thick clouds like solid ground, Jeming promptly adjusted his posture, carefully descending slowly.
He discovered that the layer of clouds under his feet, which appeared soft, was actually "solid"!
However, the clouds weren’t particularly sturdy, and stepping on them felt slightly ethereal and yielded a sinking sensation, as though stepping on fluffy cotton.
Although it seemed impossible to support his entire body on it, this land composed of clouds indeed provided enough gravity!
At this time, the other wizards also followed in, also discovering the peculiar nature of this area.
Levin Mills noticed Jeming and the others’ confusion and explained with a smile:
"This is the most special aspect of this ’space distortion’ area. Because a large amount of materials, likely swept in from elsewhere, have gathered in this same area, it has reformed into one of the rare ’gravity’ points of the Aerial Plane."
"However, you’d better maintain flight. These clouds serving as ’ground’ contain a substantial amount of pure wind element, which is very likely to house many unknown small ’space distortions’."
"If one were to plunge into these clouds, if luck favors, they might merely get randomly teleported by the space distortion to other parts of this area. If not, they could get instantly torn apart by those chaotic spatial turbulences!"
"However, perhaps due to a large amount of wind elements gathering at the periphery of this space, creating this current ’twisted space’. So, the space above this ’ground’ is actually very stable. While flying here, there’s no need to worry too much."
Jeming was initially curiously probing the clouds beneath with his feet, but upon hearing Levin Mills’ words, he and the other newly arrived wizards instinctively flew a little higher.
