Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 266 - 237: Return
Unwittingly, fifty years have quietly slipped away.
For mortals, this represents half a lifetime of vicissitudes.
But for wizards immersed in an ocean of knowledge, it is merely a fleeting moment.
Jeming is standing as usual within his vast underground laboratory.
His gaze is intently focused on the two slowly merging orbs of light suspended in mid-air, maintained by numerous precise instruments.
Amidst the weaving of various complex energy fields, a blue and a red core emanating the breath of origin are entwining with each other at an extremely slow yet unshakably determined pace, continuously merging and penetrating.
Confirming the stability of the cores at last, a mixed expression of fatigue and anticipation appeared on Jeming’s face.
Of these two cores, the red one belongs to the "Magma Giant," while the blue one belongs to the "Yeti."
Strictly speaking, these two pure elemental lives do not actually have "cores" in the traditional sense of elemental biology.
The "Magma Giant," when alive, has what is called a core that is actually myriad tiny crystalline fragments, about the size of rice grains, scattered throughout its body.
These crystalline fragments contain not only their fundamental life information but also store massive amounts of fire elemental energy.
Due to their great numbers, covering almost the entire body, losing a large portion even in fierce battles will not cause any fatal impact on them.
When a Magma Giant needs to reproduce, it will separate the fullest small crystal from its body and place it in an incubation pool or an energy-rich magma pool.
The so-called "Magma Giant Core" before Jeming is actually an energy aggregation, meticulously selected from all the scattered small crystalline fragments within a deceased Magma Giant and forcefully brought together using special techniques.
The situation for the "Yeti" core is similar, although more extreme in form. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The living Yeti doesn’t even have a single fixed crystal within its body.
However, this elemental life has a peculiar biological instinct— when exposed to high temperatures, causing its body to melt, those melting parts instinctively aggregate to ensure faster recovery of their combat capabilities.
This physiological trait continues even after their death.
After a Yeti dies, the body parts with the strongest vitality and highest energy intensity will automatically aggregate due to this special physiological trait.
Forming an irregular, ice-blue crystalline entity, known as the "Yeti Core."
When Jeming initially established the research plan of "Strengthening the Magma Giant Race," he targeted the "Yeti," from the same plane as the Magma Giant yet diametrically opposite in attributes, as the "enhanced material."
However, during his time on the Ice and Flame Plane, his research on the Yeti, this elemental life, was insufficient.
Furthermore, he wasn’t skilled in the genetic modification knowledge associated with the "Water Element."
As a result, the entire project faced numerous challenges and progressed slowly.
Yet ever since Jeming received a strand of "Water Element Origin" from Dean Avery Knight as a reward, the speed of his research has soared, as if it had grown wings!
Now, it seems the final result is about to manifest!
Jeming operated the controls beside the instrument for a moment, silently estimating the data displayed on the light screen.
The data shows that the fusion progress of the two cores has entered a stable phase, estimating that at most another year or so is needed for complete fusion.
By then, the result of this century-long research plan—whether it is a success or failure—can finally be confirmed.
Buzz...
At that moment, the communicator beside him rang, indicating a space transmission request from internal laboratory permissions.
Jeming raised an eyebrow, and upon checking the source of the request, discovered it was Viola.
"Finished with the research?" Jeming muttered to himself as he casually accepted the request.
The next moment, the teleportation array in the center of the laboratory shone brightly.
Amidst a violent spatial fluctuation, a staggering figure stumbled out from it.
The two met again after several decades.
Even Jeming couldn’t help but be momentarily stunned at Viola’s current appearance.
Viola looked rather pitiful at the moment.
Her originally silky and smooth silver hair, like the moonlight, had become dry and frizzy, a mess as if having been struck by lightning.
Her silver-gray eyes, which always shone with cunning and wisdom, had become dull and filled with fatigue.
Even heavy dark circles had formed under her eyes.
As a Sixth Level Wizard, to be in such a pitiable state, with such prominent dark circles...
It was obvious at a glance that over the years, she had exhausted herself working like a "beast of burden" for Professor Clark on that harsh Ice and Flame Plane.
"Yo, Jeming... junior." Viola weakly waved at him, her voice hoarse, "Sorry for showing up uninvited."
"Senior, what happened to you..." Jeming walked over and handed her a bottle of potion to restore her spirit.
Viola took the potion and drank it in one gulp, breathing a long sigh of relief as a bit of light returned to her dull gaze.
She looked at Jeming, a genuine smile appearing on her face: "Speaking of which, I must thank you for the potions you sent me to strengthen my spirit and alleviate fatigue. Without them, I might have died in that hellhole."
Jeming’s eyelids twitched as he looked at her exhausted state, unable to resist his feelings as he said, "Seeing how miserable you look, you must have had it hard these past few years."
Viola agreed with a deep nod.
Suddenly, a sickly flush of enthusiasm appeared on her face!
She stuck out her tongue, licking her cracked lips, and said with a groan of pleasure, "That’s right! It was... so exhausting! That experience of having both my soul and body pushed to the limit, every second on the verge of collapse... such a rare pain! It brought a strange sense of satisfaction to my heart!"
Jeming’s eye twitched uncontrollably.
He quietly withdrew his earlier concern.
He thought he was truly foolish to worry about her; it was utterly unnecessary!
Seeing Viola like this, Jeming felt even more that she was a perfect fit as a user of the "Pain" rule!
"Alright, enough joking." Viola quickly returned to normal and explained her purpose: "I’m here this time to inform you about Professor Clark’s research on the Ice and Flame Plane."
"The professor made a significant breakthrough in a critical aspect of his research over there. Likely, he’ll need to stay on that plane for several more centuries to come back."
"Professor Clark asked me to tell you that if you’ve completed the batch of ’Red Dust Potion’ for paying back the loan, you can contact him through our mark and teleport the potion directly to the Ice and Flame Plane."
Jeming understood; he knew it was his mentor indirectly urging him to repay the debt.
After all, quite some time had passed, and it was indeed time for him to continue repaying.
He promptly responded: "Understood, please tell Professor Clark I’ll make the potion as soon as possible and send it over."
After speaking, he asked Viola, "And what about you? What are your plans next?"
Viola stretched, displaying her graceful figure: "As for me... after decades of intensive research and ’experiencing’ the rules of that plane, I’ve finally forcefully supplemented my knowledge level to the ’passing line’ of a Fifth Level Wizard."
"So, Professor Clark kindly allowed me to leave temporarily. He instructed me to return and supplement the basic knowledge I’ve fallen behind on, and... find a way to repay that astronomical debt."
Saying this, her revitalized silver-gray eyes twinkled as she looked at Jeming asked: "So... Jeming, do you have any quick ways to make money recently?"
Jeming thought for a moment, and a memory from fifty years ago came to mind.
He quickly organized his words and briefly informed her about Dean Avery Knight’s recent discovery of a new plane.
He added, "I’ve heard the opposing force there is strong, with a high intensity of warfare, and they badly need combat strength. But because of this, the plane is not only rich in resources, but the exchange ratio for battle merits is also quite generous. Senior Viola, if you want to earn quickly, you might want to check it out."
Jeming vividly remembered that Senior Viola held a guest professor position in the newly established Nolun Academy Branch on the Elorcia Plane.
Theoretically, she was also considered one of Dean Avery Knight’s wizards.
Going over to join the battle would be reasonable.
"A new plane?!"
Viola’s eyes instantly brightened!
That light was like that of a bloodthirsty wolf spotting a flock of fat sheep!
War means chaos, means death, means... pain!
Of course, it also means enormous, unimaginable opportunities and wealth!
She excitedly clapped her hands: "It’s settled! I’ll go back and prepare for twenty or thirty years, adjust to my optimal state, and upgrade my lovely ’pets,’ and then I’ll head straight there!"
Seeing her eager and ready-to-fight demeanor, Jeming could only silently mourn for the yet unlucky world for three seconds in his heart.
