Criminal X : Epitome Of Evil-Chapter 349: A Heartless Flow
Chapter 349: A Heartless Flow
The real killers go for the heart.
Pablo said that to Ted, and Ted wouldn’t have believed it if not for Pablo’s sword.
"Is that my heart?" Ted asked.
Pablo smiled. "It is."
On the tip of Colt, Ted’s heart was pierced.
"How am I still alive then?" Ted asked.
"You will start to die now. Your brain doesn’t know that you don’t have a heart anymore."
"I don’t have a heart... anymore?" Ted repeated the words, and as soon as he said that, he fell to his knees, then collapsed completely onto the ground.
"How? My Ego should have wor-worked." Ted wanted to know.
He was lying in front of Pablo. His legs were facing the Tenth Marshal, and his eyes were locked on Pablo.
Pablo sat on one knee and placed his hand on Ted’s leg.
’Use it.’
[ Mimesis Malefica In Use! ]
Pablo’s Ego would do its work.
"Tell me..." Ted asked again.
’Let me know it myself first.’
Pablo had no clear answer as to why Ted was still alive without a heart.
Surely, Ted looked miserable, but the man was still alive.
So Pablo definitely wanted to see Ted’s Ego.
Mimesis Malefica did its work, and Pablo saw Ted’s memories.
He paid little attention to them, and as they finished, the main notification finally came.
[ Ego Successfully Copied! ]
[ This is the first time you copied this Ego! ]
[ You can keep this Ego for twelve hours! ]
[ A large amount of life force taken from the Target! ]
"Aughh!"
Ted coughed blood.
’Show me the Ego.’ Pablo commanded.
[ Blood Healer (Purple): As long as there is blood in your veins, you will keep healing. ]
Pablo read it, and he certainly liked it. He was already thinking along these lines.
Taking out the heart was the right call.
"Answer me!" Ted shouted.
His face was pale. He was near death’s door.
"You don’t know why you are like this? You don’t know about your own Ego?" Pablo asked.
"I don’t. I just knew I would heal. I don’t know why I am not healing right now."
Pablo sighed. "As long as there is blood inside your veins, you will keep healing. I took out your heart, so no more blood will be pumped. You are only alive right now because of the remaining blood in your veins."
Ted listened to Pablo’s explanation, and after a moment of silence, he just smiled.
"So this is the end."
"It is. I am surprised that you easily believed me about your Ego. I thought you would say I am lying."
"No. You are not someone who would lie at a time like this. You already won against me, so you won’t lie now. I seriously underestimated you. I should have been careful."
"Why did you rape her?" Pablo asked.
"When I raped for the first time, it felt good. I knew it was wrong, but I gave in to my desires. I started raping whenever I got the chance. All four soldiers with me were also like that. That shit was thrilling. We couldn’t stop ourselves.
When I saw your sister and her miserable state, I decided to make her more miserable. I thought it would be more fun to make her suffer more. And it was fun as well. But look where it brought me."
"Yeah. It only goes to show how short pleasure lasts in this world. You can fast for three years and get full in just ten minutes."
"I understand. I know it means nothing now, but now that I am dying, I want to say sorry. I shouldn’t have indulged in the pleasure. It only brings doom."
"You just chose the wrong girl. And you should have killed me back then. You did wrong by raping, but you made blunders by choosing my sister and sparing me alive."
"There’s no point in that anymore. Just kill me."
"You will die on your own. Regret what you did until then. I have a Marshal to deal with."
Pablo stood up. He wasn’t sitting on one knee anymore.
"Heh." Ted chuckled.
"What?" Pablo asked.
"You can’t kill that Marshal."
"Why?"
"He can rip apart your skin. Only I could survive him. You don’t have my Ego to save yourself."
Pablo smiled.
"There are things you don’t know, soldier. If you manage to stay alive until I fight Luther, make sure to watch."
"I’ll... tr... try."
Pablo walked away from Ted and stood in a spot where Ted would be able to see his and Luther’s fight.
Inside the shadow, Draxus had wrapped Luther with one too many shadows, and even then, it was hard to keep Luther at bay.
He was just waiting for Pablo to get free from Ted so he could direct Luther to his czar.
He constantly kept an eye on the fight while moving his shadow all around Ground 0.
After a while, he finally saw Pablo standing away from Ted, and that only meant one thing...
Pablo was ready to take on Luther.
Now that Draxus saw that, he wasted no time and dashed his shadow toward Pablo.
He reached in front of Pablo, and with some last words:
"Have fun, Czar."
He brought out Luther from his shadow.
The Second Marshal was finally free.
He had his sword in his hand and a deathly enraged look on his face.
He was fuming with anger, and now he would direct all that at Pablo.
But before that, Luther’s eyes went behind Pablo.
"You defeated him?"
Luther asked about Ted.
"Not just ’defeated’ him. He is nearing his last breaths," Pablo replied.
Luther clenched his sword. "I don’t give a damn. I will also not just defeat you. I will skin you alive."
Luther’s eyes began to glow purple.
"How dare you kill my son? And how dare you make someone talk as if he was my son? How the hell did you dare to make fun of me?!"
Luther stepped toward Pablo, his eyes increasing their glow as Pablo was forced to squint.
"Die."
Luther’s voice came from just near Pablo’s ear.
The Second Marshal was already very close to Pablo.
Pablo couldn’t see anything because of the sharp purple light, and Luther was in no mood for mercy.
So...
SPLCUK!
He stabbed Pablo’s chest.
