Creating A Succubus Army In A Fantasy World!-Chapter 77: Rift Exploration! (7)
Chapter 77: Rift Exploration! (7)
The moment Creed laid eyes on the glorious sight before him, he felt a wave of emotions so strong that for the first time since entering this death trap of a rift, he almost wanted to cry.
But this time, it was not out of frustration, but out of pure relief and joy.
’Oh my god,’he thought, staring ahead in disbelief. ’Finally! Finally! Something in this damn rift that isn’t trying to kill me! Something actually worth all this suffering! I swear, if this is a hallucination, I will personally fight whatever god oversees this dimension.’
And he wasn’t the only one losing his mind.
Every single member of the group, from the lowest Stage 1 to the strongest Stage 5, was completely still, their eyes wide with unfiltered greed and desire.
Some of them were even holding their breath, as if afraid that making a sound would cause this miracle to disappear.
Because the entire cavern, from top to bottom was covered in something truly amazing.
Yellow Snake Vines.
These strange, yellowish vines weren’t just ordinary plants. No, they were something much, much more special.
They wrapped around the walls like slithering snakes, coiling around the stone surfaces as if they were alive.
Their smooth, scaled texture glistened in the dim cavern light, and every now and then, they would pulse faintly, as though breathing.
It was both mesmerizing and unsettling.
And most importantly; it was worth a fortune!
Yellow Snake Vines were one of the most valuable natural treasures in a low level rift, and it was such for one simple reason:
They were limit breakers!
For most Awakened, no matter how hard they trained, no matter how strong they became, there was one massive wall that every single one of them would eventually hit: Talent Limits.
It didn’t matter how hardworking someone was. Everyone had a limit.
For example, a person born with an F-rank talent would, under normal circumstances, never be able to reach past Stage 2 of the Bronze Rank. That was their ceiling. Their final stop.
Unless...
They attempted a Tribulation Breakthrough.
A tribulation was a terrifying, life-threatening trial, a process where an Awakened would forcefully break past their talent limit by challenging the laws of the world itself.
Obviously, It was painful and dangerous. And the worst part?
It had an absolutely awful success rate.
According to a recent study, only 30% of people survived their tribulations. That meant 70%—seven out of every ten people— who attempted to surpass their limits ended up dead.
But this was where Limit Breaker Resources came in.
These were incredibly rare, incredibly expensive natural materials that, when used properly, could reduce the power of tribulations, making it easier to survive.
And Yellow Snake Vines were one of the best ones for bronze awakeneds.
They were Stage 5 limit breakers. That meant they could be used to weaken tribulations up to Stage 5!
To put that into perspective, a single handful of Yellow Snake Vines was already worth hundreds of thousands of credits!
And this cavern...
This cavern had hundreds.
Maybe even thousands. It was an unimaginable treasure trove.
Creed could practically hear the mental calculations running through everyone’s heads.
Some of the weaker Awakened were already sweating, realizing that if they could get even a hundred vines, they could sell it and retire comfortably for life!
Others, especially the stage 4 Awakened with weak talents, weren’t really thinking about the money; they were thinking about themselves.
Because for them, this wasn’t just about wealth. This was about power.
With enough of these vines, they could surpass their limits. They could break through to stages they previously thought were impossible for them.
No one moved.
Despite their burning greed, despite their desperate desire, not a single person took a step forward.
Why?
Because this rift had already proven one thing. Nothing came easy. Everything in this godforsaken place was a death trap in disguise.
So even though their instincts screamed at them to rush forward and start harvesting the vines as quickly as possible, they all hesitated.
What would happen if they touched the vines? Would something wake up? Would they trigger a hidden guardian? Would the vines themselves fight back?
The answers were unclear, but one thing was certain. No one wanted to be the first to find out.
They were cowards. All of them.
Big, tough awakeneds who had likely survived battles, endured hellish training, and faced life-and-death situations, yet here they stood, acting as if these vines were the jaws of a waiting beast.
Creed sighed, rubbing his temple. They were all too scared to make the first move, and until someone stepped up, they’d all just stand there, glaring at each other like a bunch of useless statues.
The dark-haired stage 5 awakened, his sharp eyes flicking between the motionless group, finally broke the silence. "Somebody needs to test it out."
His voice carried the weight of command, but it was clear he had no intention of volunteering himself.
He let the words hang in the air, waiting, watching, hoping some poor soul would break under the pressure. "Who’s it gonna be?"
Predictably, no one answered. The silence stretched so long that it started to feel like an actual presence, pressing down on the crowd, making them shift uncomfortably.
Who was willing to take the risk?
The dark-haired man clicked his tongue, displeased. Then, the silver-haired man beside him, his expression calm yet calculating, offered a more enticing proposal
"Whoever tests it out," he said smoothly, "will get a five-minute head start before the rest of us start harvesting."
!!!
Now, that was a tempting offer. A five-minute lead could mean the difference between securing a fortune and walking away with leftovers of the stage 5s.
The awakeneds glanced at each other, their greed briefly overpowering their fear. But still, no one moved.
The chance of death, no matter how small, was enough to paralyze them.
Then, with a lazy flick of his wrist, the ruthless Stage 5 casually pointed at Creed. "You. Go pluck some vine." freewebnσvel.cѳm
Fuck!
For a moment, Creed just stared at him, deadpan. His mind processed the words at a deliberately slow pace, as if hoping he had misheard.
But no, the truth was clear as day; these useless bastards were trying to use him as a scapegoat!
Internally, he cursed up a storm. ’Of course. Of course! Why did I even think for a second that these people would grow a spine? Should’ve known I’d get thrown to the wolves the moment someone needed to take a risk.’
Outwardly, though, he forced a tight-lipped smile and exhaled through his nose. "Ah, yes. My dream has always been to be the first idiot to test whether something is deadly or not."
Did he have a choice? He didn’t. Unlike Trent and Kent who had a powerful Silver level Awakened as a deterrent, Creed had no one and was also just a stage 1.
He had no choice!
The Stage 5 cultivator smirked, unbothered by Creed’s sarcasm. "Then congratulations. Dreams do come true."
Creed sucked in a sharp breath, clenched his jaw, and made a decision. He could only hope that his summons were unaffected by the crimson magma.
With a flick of his fingers, he summoned Lilith.
A gust of purple light swirled beside him, and in a blink, a tall, striking figure emerged.
Lilith, clad in her sleek battle armor, stepped forward, her piercing violet eyes scanning the surroundings with an air of disinterest.
Her armor covered most of her body, brutal yet practical, the kind of design that promised both protection and lethality.
Creed felt a small spark of satisfaction. At least she wasn’t in the ridiculous outfit she always preferred to wear.
Lilith turned to him, raising an eyebrow. Creed gave her a wry smile and mentally asked her to cut a yellow snake vine.
Lilith hummed thoughtfully, then turned toward the vines. Without hesitation, she strode forward, the crowd parting as she passed.
Unlike the others, she didn’t hesitate or second-guess. She simply reached behind her, produced her huge sickle, and in a single graceful motion, slashed at the vines.
The blade cut cleanly, and three meters’ worth of vines tumbled down, landing in a soft heap on the ground.
Silence followed.
Lilith tilted her head slightly, waiting. The cultivators stared, waiting. Creed also tensed, waiting.
Nothing happened.
No sudden explosion of crimson magma, no hidden beast launching out to devour them, no curse activating to melt their faces off. Just... nothing.
A noticeable shift rippled through the crowd. The tension that had previously locked their muscles started to ease, their postures straightening as realization dawned.
It’s safe!
Then, like a dam breaking, greed flooded their expressions. Eyes gleamed with hunger as they stared at the vines, now confirmed to be harvestable without consequence.
The hesitance that had gripped them moments ago was nowhere to be found.
But just as the first few cultivators began to step forward, Creed clapped his hands together, his voice cutting through the air like a whip.
"Ah-ah-ah! Hold up. Let’s not forget the little agreement we just made." He grinned, crossing his arms. "I get a five-minute head start, remember?"
A few of them looked annoyed, some even glancing toward the silver-haired man as if hoping he’d refute it. But the man simply sighed and waved a hand. "Go ahead."
Creed didn’t need to be told twice.
With a victorious whoop, he pounced on the vines, yanking them into his storage ring with a speed that would’ve made even the greediest merchant jealous.
Tierra also appeared in a flash beside him before joining Lilith in harvesting the vines at an insane rate.
The others watched, fuming but powerless to stop him.
And for those five glorious minutes, Creed harvested like a man possessed.
This was a bountiful harvest!
